This entire Lunar New Year felt like they were just dumping out skins for "popular champion XD" with a handful of skins for more obscure characters. Primal Ambush was all popular characters, Heavenscale was all popular characters (and Smolder), and now we have Graves, Darius, Miss Fortune, Irelia, Morgana, and A.Sol (and also Prestige Kindred) where only one of them fit this skinline. (It's A.Sol btw. A.Sol is the only good one... Prestige Kindred is also okay.) Like we couldn't have gotten a skin for Alistar (Ox + "Bull in a China Shop" lol), Olaf (Goat), Twitch (Rat), or Rell (Horse)? Like not all of these are great but certainly we could've had more champions instead of "the ones that sell well in China."
omg, Rell is a perfect fit for this line! Why has she not been selected for this line?! A porcelain horse that becomes a chunky *inflexible* armour made of pottery?? I'd actually play Rell for that.
my favorite part is that most of the skins have better versions that appeal more to chinese audiences, so why even bother with most of the choices they went with? It would have been cool if they treated the line like they did the Arcana skinline where each champ is one of the things, but no riot is bad at doing cool stuff now

I really like most of the (old) porcelain skins. I really like the blue white colour combination and the spell effects. What I DONT like is when they randomly throw in champs and fuck up everything about them (like the kindred mask).
in addition to your comment regarding aurelion sol's voicelines being cut completely in half, as someone who mains irelia i was shocked to see how much she lost voicelines-wise in mythmaker. in her default and epic skins, she has lines for grouping/moving as a team, surviving the teamfight, setting up a gank, and so much more. in her non-epic skins, she has a few unique voicelines per skin too. mythmaker irelia has so much less and seeing how other champions are getting the same treatment with their legendaries and how new champions come out with less lines than older champions feels like quite an upset, even more so now after the layoffs of the creatives.

Artist for the Irelia splash has had to defend herself from a lot of toxicity because of her piece. She posted on her twitter her references and it included the WR irelia base model which might explain a lot cause base leagues irelia model sure is different from WR. Her twt is Aizukie

I still find odd that people criticized Kindred's original Porcelain skin by showing only closeups and smears of a model that should've look from above. But I'm pleasantly surprised that her prestige version doesn't suck and fits the original skinline. Same face syndrome of female champions aside, I would like if Irelia looked more like the splash art. I think the skin color is too yellow and doesn't blend well with the palette of the overall model.
All the skins this year have felt so samey and as someone who didnt like dragonmancer, going into primal ambush, going into heavenscale, going into porceline its felt like the biggest drought ever for skins

Tbh Aurelion looks nice, but I don't get any "porcelain" feel out of the skin? Like, at all? He is just blue and white, he is flowy, his whiskers are flowy, everything feels very liquid and mobile. There are no porcelain parts to him at all. He doesn't feel breakable, which I could understand in context of him being a mighty being, but I feel that even trying to make him look more like dragons depicted on china bowls (less aetheral and losing the golden hue) would have helped. Maybe I'm the only one, but I honestly expected more. If you told me this skin was Heavenscale, I'd probably believe it.
Personally I love the theme of Porcelain I just wish they chose better champions that can actually fit the skin line vs just popular champions (since the ones who actually fit look great!)

As an irelia main, I'm mixed on the criticism. I agree that the head shape of the Porcelain splash art is super different from irelia and how it can make her look a bit generic. However, skins aren't just "characters in a different suit" To me, I always saw them as characters being reimagined in an entirely different world and how they adapt like Project, Star Guardian, and High Noon. and yes reimagining also means alternating their looks a bit from certain body structures to accessories and sometimes facial features. I mean look at pug'maw and bee'maw. they straight made kog'maw cute compared to how Kog'maw looks and everyone loved it. So I don't think it's fair to a certain degree that a champion needs to look EXACTLY the same when it comes to skins.

Here's an idea: A skinline based on Genderswapped Greek Mythology: Illaoi as Hercules, instead of Tentacles she now summons multi-Headed Snakes. Naafiri as Kerberos. Morgana as Icarus. Leona as Perseus.
Nothing will ever really come close to the sheer unbridled *FEAR* that permiated the Kindred Community when we realized that Porcelain Kindred, the actual, unequivocal worst skin in the entire game, was gonna be the prestige. Even the relief that came when they revealed that by "prestige" they meant "entirely new skin please forget the old one we're sorry you were right" wasn't as visceral of a feeling as the gut-dropping fear. ...Although maybe they could have beaten that intensity if they went with sketch #2 for the splash instead to turn the entire community feral.
I have been saving up for literal YEARS because I'm poor I cant buy mythic essence for prestige skins, but I finally have enough and JUST in time for my beautiful Kindred redemption arc
I like porcelain but it always kinda irks me that the Chinese inspired skins are rarely champions from Ionia. Morgana and A Sol at least are non human creatures. But MF Graves and Darius make no sense. Orianna and Nidalee would’ve been better buffers if they needed non Ionians. I also kinda wish smolder had been saved for Porcelain. But honestly the champion I’m the most surprised to not be in this skin line is Karma. I feel like her visuals fit this theme so well.

Maybe this skin line just isn't for me, because I prefer stuff that looks like the coven skins, or something excessively cutesy/pretty, but these skins just.... suck. They're incredibly drab and uninspired. The best use so far has been on Amumu, because it was super creative and adorable. They made him a little porcelain tea kettle, which worked incredibly well.
A monumental W for all Kindred enjoyers out here, just tiny little nitpick, both wolf and lamb have white fur instead of changing one to a darker tone. (Also with DRX, this is their 3rd blue and white color scheme skin)
Tbh I'm not the biggest fan of this batch of Zodiac. Either their design wasn't porcelain-y enough and some of them just outright don't work in this thematic. The only ones I might gun for is ASol and Prestige Kindred, the rest I canove without.
I like them of Porcelain. Im russian, and we have Gzhel - its some of painting style in Blue+White. And this skinline is about it. I dont like Darius, Graves and MF here, just because I think there is some better choises, but anyway thats alright, and skinline is solid 8/10 for me. ASol is the second the legendary skin of last 2 years (Viego is ballin imo).

I loved last years mumu and lissandra they fit perfectly and kindred had by far the best effects on ult this year non of the skins seem to grasp well enough the charm that mumu and lissandra had overall the champions they chose dont fit the skin line at all the fragile yet powerfull, the amazingly done porcelain has lost its charm in the guns and axes. Syndra would fit perfectly with tea cups for the orbs and yet they fumbled complelty
no way asol got a legendary and this is the 100th legendary skin in the game hate the champ but its cool when less popular champ gets one imagine old asol with flying visses could of been fun to see

prestige kindred is the only favorite thing about this skin line for me i swear 🥺 i despised the normal porcelain kindred skin ever since i saw the in game model. i dont even play kindred (but hoping to someday) but im gonna get the prestige skin with tokens i dont care xD (also asol getting legendary is also a huge w!!!)
I feel the need to connect porcelain to chinese zodiacs itself is stupid, just because its chinese does not mean they need to be together... If it was going to be humans, just asthetic colors and dresses/suits would be fine. Preferably a monster/nontraditonal human should have been the only ones in the skinline. I absolutely loved amumus porcelain skin, and i love a sols. Anivia would be perfect for this, a porcelain styled egg in her passive omg, like how did you skip her twice riot. Lux I liked because it was just a simple outfit, similar to morganas.

I have been saving up for literal YEARS because I'm poor I cant buy mythic essence for prestige skins, but I finally have enough and JUST in time for my beautiful Kindred redemption arc
In my opinion Asol is between epic and legendary because I don't feel like he has different animations or I don't see much difference
Is "Oh shit. Redemption arc!" a reference to that one darkmane video or am I whacko for that
Except for ASol and Kindred (hate for base was so big they "fixed" it?), this roster felt like "only popular champs here"

the aurelion sol skin doesn't look like legendary, all his animations are 90% the same as the original... so lame
I like porcelain but it always kinda irks me that the Chinese inspired skins are rarely champions from Ionia. Morgana and A Sol at least are non human creatures. But MF Graves and Darius make no sense. Orianna and Nidalee would’ve been better buffers if they needed non Ionians. I also kinda wish smolder had been saved for Porcelain. But honestly the champion I’m the most surprised to not be in this skin line is Karma. I feel like her visuals fit this theme so well.
Not to mention like.. shen?? A literal protector.

Honestly at first glance the Irelia skin looks a little like Gwen to me. Pale skin, slightly large eyes, the horns in place of her hair bows.
Maybe this skin line just isn't for me, because I prefer stuff that looks like the coven skins, or something excessively cutesy/pretty, but these skins just.... suck. They're incredibly drab and uninspired. The best use so far has been on Amumu, because it was super creative and adorable. They made him a little porcelain tea kettle, which worked incredibly well.

A monumental W for all Kindred enjoyers out here, just tiny little nitpick, both wolf and lamb have white fur instead of changing one to a darker tone.
(Also with DRX, this is their 3rd blue and white color scheme skin)
Tbh I'm not the biggest fan of this batch of Zodiac. Either their design wasn't porcelain-y enough and some of them just outright don't work in this thematic. The only ones I might gun for is ASol and Prestige Kindred, the rest I canove without.
You forgot to mention how Irelia is supposed to be the Ox protector but in the splashart and ingame effects she has goat imaginery

Amumu and Liss were awesome skins from the previous batch. I only want A Sol from this group. The gun champs were a big miss for me.
I like them of Porcelain. Im russian, and we have Gzhel - its some of painting style in Blue+White. And this skinline is about it. I dont like Darius, Graves and MF here, just because I think there is some better choises, but anyway thats alright, and skinline is solid 8/10 for me. ASol is the second the legendary skin of last 2 years (Viego is ballin imo).

I loved last years mumu and lissandra they fit perfectly and kindred had by far the best effects on ult this year non of the skins seem to grasp well enough the charm that mumu and lissandra had overall the champions they chose dont fit the skin line at all the fragile yet powerfull, the amazingly done porcelain has lost its charm in the guns and axes. Syndra would fit perfectly with tea cups for the orbs and yet they fumbled complelty

im very much in two minds about this skin line, when i heard abt porcelain i was like hell yeah i love old ceramics and basing a skin line on that is super cool but like, why did they add the zodiac thing? Why is it just except for amumu and lissandra that its just x champion but blue and white? This could have been so much cooler riot :(
prestige kindred is the only favorite thing about this skin line for me i swear 🥺 i despised the normal porcelain kindred skin ever since i saw the in game model. i dont even play kindred (but hoping to someday) but im gonna get the prestige skin with tokens i dont care xD

I feel the need to connect porcelain to chinese zodiacs itself is stupid, just because its chinese does not mean they need to be together... If it was going to be humans, just asthetic colors and dresses/suits would be fine. Preferably a monster/nontraditonal human should have been the only ones in the skinline. I absolutely loved amumus porcelain skin, and i love a sols. Anivia would be perfect for this, a porcelain styled egg in her passive omg, like how did you skip her twice riot. Lux I liked because it was just a simple outfit, similar to morganas.
