There is Lots of amber washed up on the shores of the baltic sea. Found some recently when just going on a walk.
Amber was so valuable that it established the first big trade routes into eastern and northern europe, providing the basis for our first historical records of the germanic tribes by romans curious where the amber came from

16:10 there is a theory that Tolkien styled Rohan's charge on Polish charge at Vienna so it's pretty nice coincidence that you mentioned it.
nah it's based on the Huns vs the Western Romans. Rohan are the Visigoth because they decided the battle and their leader died in the same way the Rohan leader does.

Funny thing with the fort at Girgiu: When you form the commonwealth as Lithuania, you gain the polish + PLC mission and since IA Poland can do the mission which upgrade the fort while PU'ed by you, you can redo this mission when forming the LPC and have a 6 level fort by the 1500's

I went for the Local Noble instead of the PU. It leads you into a path where you can join the HRE and become emperor, and lets you keep the Sejm.
I became emperor around when the reformation fired which was bad for imperial authority but I kept force converting nations until the league war fired and it was no issue. Since then I expanded directly really far east while expanding the HRE west and gaining tons of imperial authority. It's been a great campaign after.
After absolutism rolls around doing the golden liberty mission grants you tons of max absolutism and a great gov reform that finally abolishes the Sejm as well

Aristocratic + Exploration gives +33% manpower policy. With the +20% manpower from Aristocratic it is better than +50% from Quantity. The only issues are that it takes longer to unlock the full manpower bonus and there is no force limit boost as with Quantity.
As a general rule, I tale Aristocratic when I am doing Exploration and I take Quantity otherwise.

I finished today my save with PLC. The best game I've ever done, I am so proud haha New Polish mission tree is having a lot of flavour. I personally think that it is so imersive and, speaking as a Pole, it is so satisfying!
Ludi do you already know the bug where you can have almost infinite gov cap through the 3 gov reform where you get monthly minus autonmy. This also has another modifier where you get the cost back if you centralize a state

Big thumbs up for correctly pronouncing Sejm. Though J is not pronounced like an i. It's very similar but it's not the same, it's like pronouncing Judaism without the J and more like iudaism.

thank you, definetly going to play poland next. I think Its better to PU bohemia peacfully and in the 1st 5 yers atack walachia. But some of the tips will definetly be useful
The one issue I had with going for the diplo route with Bohemia, is that in their mission tree they get permanent claims on the whole Nitra area, so if you have PU'd Hungary and not given that region to Bohemia during the war, they get a massive -140 (ish) opinion modifier against you because they desire your subjects provinces. Which then makes it practically impossible to keep their opinion high enough to actually make them your subject diplomatically.
Maybe it doesn't happen every time, but it will never happen if you force PU them, so for me, that makes it the better choice.

@@sullenskulls9709 this opinion hit is bonded to "ruler AI". You just must wait for another ruler with less aggressive attitude.
But there is second problem with diplo route - AI have high chances to give you small trade bonus instead union.

That was my first game after the DLC's release, it's super fun all the PU you can get (although I had to restart because I allied Bohemia in th start XD).
I finally got time to play Poland with new mission tree and even though I haven't finished yet, the game itself, crushing the Ottomans, Muscovy and in the same time playing tall-ish was amazing! I even was able to catch up on Tech and Institutions wery quickly, despite so much monarch points being invested in dev!
The “raise the noble host” mission gives more manpower based on how many parliament seats you’ve given out. You shouldn’t be giving every province to parliament, but you can easily get 8-10,000 manpower from the mission!

Poland is actually OP. Played it after the latest dlc. In like 50 years I owned half of the balkans, Bohemia, Livonia, Lithuania, huge chunk of Novgorod and Sweden as well as PU over France. Even the polish AI tends to blob out fast
Everyone has been saying this but every time I play I watch Poland get murdered by like 1500
@@theomorphical It’s rare to see the polish AI get destroyed in my games at least. The only times that has happened is if ottomans don’t crumble to the mamluks and if Russia manages to expand into Scandinavia
I even PU Brandenburg in my campaign.
Danzig starts out as a Gems province. Just loaded a new game to double check that
Danzig historically has been a centre of amber trade so maybe that is why it can switch to gem production.

Danzig always becomes a gem province for me, no matter which country I play. Usually as Denmark.

The Age of the Teutons is over...the Age of Ducal Prussia has begun.
Pretty sure the reason why Danzig didn't annex the Teutons is because you occupied the last province. They should take everything they occupy, and maybe give you chelmono if you occupy it. Thing is the ai instantly peaces when the sieges end, so when you kill the Teuton army, set your subjects to defensive and let Danzig start to siege everything so they get it.

Im in an eu4 multiplayer game where my 30 year old ruler died and i lost bohemia union after just getting it as Austria, very annoying
I chose to enter the hre, sitll got lithuanian pu by feeding him moscovy and requesting heir of my dynasty. And the best part is Ming went for the hordes and then imploded, right next to the ural mountains, vassalized him in a couple wars and took all his cores back in 80 years. He will calm down when I get that later age bonus Anti-Revolutionary Zeal. Oh also pued the iberians. Nice ez game.

Gotland and Muscovy - an unholy alliance? I literally was allied to the Ottomans and Papal States as the Teutons because wide Muscovy and some catholic big boys (France, Spain, Hungary with reduced Poland PU and HRE Austria with Bohemia PU) rivalled me. As Teutons, allying the Pope is not a big deal but got them and the Ottos fighting side by side which is kind of exclusive to Ragusa. Not a big believer in DNA tests from an ancestry perspective (I would care more about it in case the parentage is in dispute) but would love to hear your thoughts about the same Ludi

In three games in a row I had with the TO, Dantzig became a gem province and Constantinople stayed with glass during he game... I don't know why, is it either i'm very lucky or something makes it happen

I'm currently playing as Poland and I'm struggling with my crownland. Because of "Golden Liberty" and "The Nieszawa Priveleges" Szlachta's influence +90 percent. Whenever I conquer land I'm losing crownland. I watched every Poland video of you and still didn't get the solution :( Thx for the video tho
1. never ever sell titles and avoid non-essential privilages eating crownlands
2. seize land everytime you can
that's should give you safe 40-50% even just after cossacks lands reroll.
If you want absolutism path in 1600' more push via developing.

I see its quite tricky to get rid off Golden Liberty... I was not able to get Pacta conventa because havent know that Szlachta has to got only 4 privileges... also there is reform that pays back the centralizing the state once completion... Małopolska has got nearly 0 state cost. You can expand as crazy with that. But I am looking forward to pass 1615 and finally do something to get rid of Golden Liberty
