- Just a look at my ride with some mods.....
Something I forgot to mention in the video, you may have noticed i'm using the stock mirrors. I was using CRG bar end mirrors, but I didn't like having to move my head to see in the mirrors. I primarily use the bike for my short commute, so I prefer to have better visibility.

Awesome looking bike man! Love the FZ07.
If you ask me that seat cover came out perfect
Thank you sir
one of the few Nice windscreens
Mrstupidcommentbelow... yeah givi did a good job on this one. It actually looks like it belongs on the bike, unlike some others I've seen.
Thanks for watching!
Amazingly concise video and great camerawork! You bike looks well put together
damn, this has to be the sickest mt-07 i've seen!
Haha thank you!
Very nice motorcycle, I have an MT03, one day I wish to have one like yours! greetings from Mexico
¡Hola!
That is a hell of a beautiful bike! Good job and enjoy it, man! 👍🏻😎👍🏻
Robert Brazius Thank you sir!
Excelent video and congrats for your ride.!!
Thank you sir.
Wow! That's a great looking bike. Thank you for sharing.
Thank you!
Bike looks beautiful and the mods are tasteful
Thank you sir!
So damn clean. Great taste.
Thank you!
Very nice mods on your bike. Thanks for sharing. Subbing your channel.
Thank you! I video a lot of my rides so if anything interesting happens I post it.
+Red 5 I'm having a hard time choosing which bike to get, the fz-07 or the cb 500f
+Deme H. I've never ridden the Honda. Looks like a nice bike. The FZ-07 has a lot more power, the Honda gets better gas mileage. I guess it comes down what you're going to use the bike for, and how long you plan on keeping it. If this is your first bike, you will most likely "outgrow" the 500 in a year. It really comes down to a lot of personal preferences.
+Red 5 yes this will be my first bike and I plans to use it for riding and commuting and with me living in New Jersey where the weather changes with the seasons. I plans to be a seasonal rider cause there's no way I'll be riding a motorcycle in New Jerseys freezing icy winter's lol
+Deme H. I don't blame you, I'm a fair weather rider as well. Luckily in Southern California that's 300+ days a year :D I would sit on both bikes. One of them just might feel like "the one"
Wow! Small mods make a difference! :D
I have this bike but I implemented red on it. Love the windscreen though
jay fulton - Cool, I bet red accents would look good
Love the set up bro!!! Was looking to get this bike, got the r6 instead. I wish I could afford both lol!
Thank you! I have a 2007 R6 too, I picked it up pretty cheap
Red 5 can you compare your impressions of the power between the two. I have usually rode supersports, but thought the fz 07 looks nice but we can't test ride bikes around where I am. I just don't want to get bored. I actually think the power might be enough for me, but I worry I would miss the top end rush. I have tended to like high revving engines over the years (even my old Yamaha maxim 650 was a four cylinder high revving cruiser)
Let me try and answer this without writing a novel. First thing i'll say is if I could only have one bike, it would be the FZ07. It does everything I need it to do. It's comfortable for my commute to work, it's fun in the canyons, and it holds its own on the track. Not to mention I think it's a good looking bike, much better than the FZ09 in my opinion.
I've been riding for over 30 years, my R6 is my 3rd sportbike. I got the FZ07 because I wanted something i could commute on comfortably, but I didn't want a boring bike. The FZ07 actually has more torque than the R6 but it comes on at idle and continues well through the mid range. It's not a high revving monster but it has more than enough power to keep me from getting bored.
I do like to do trackdays, and I do like that high revving 4 cylinder sound and feel as you do. I'm lucky enough now to be able to keep two bikes.
I hope I haven't confused you even more, bottom line is I don't think you'll get bored on this bike. If you haven't already, check out my part 2 video. The DNA air filter & stage 2 cover along with the ECU flash made a huge improvement.
I also have a 15 Harley Streetglide Special but I seem to ride the Duke 5 times more than the cruiser
Yeah buddy bikes looking fresh 😎
Thank you!
Nice FZ and good mods, I have and will be doing many of the same to mine, heh
Thanks!
looks sweet
another awesome looking FZ07🎯🚵👍😎
Thank you!
Beauty Mt 😍
Thank you!
badass bike dude 👍
Novaseth Thank you!
just did my first to videos myself Got a new GoPro 3+. it worked great but my mic wasn't covered so there was some whistling. I'll fix that
Cool!
Bike looks great man!
Thank you! :D
good to know thanks for the reply nice bike btw
Thank You! I've made a few changes since this video so I'll probably be making a new one soon, along with a track day video.
Beautiful bike mate. Do you happen to know the full cost of all the upgrades you have listed in the description?
Thank you!
Uggghhh... I try not to think about the cost lol I would say in the neighborhood of $2500. Don't tell my girlfriend haha
Beautiful bike
Tasty mods man!
Thank you!
Red 5 ultimately is like to do all those mods, but I'm just getting started. How do you like the Givi windscreen?
+psychofunksoldier02 - I definitely like the way it looks. It really looks like it belongs on the bike. As far as wind protection, you'll never really get good wind protection unless you put a tall (ugly) screen on it. It is after all a naked bike
Red 5 I hear that! I've been looking at that and the Puig sport screen. I was hoping the Givi might provide some wind protection to justify the $40 difference. I prefer the esthetics of the Givi but maybe not that much.
hey man, what mount plates did you use for the LED front indicators? the 8-10mm bolt wont fit in without a mount right? 2 kind of small plates? can u send me a link?or picture ? thanks! i got the same bike last week :D
And the crowd screams "sounds test, sound test"
nice video, I would love to see more
Thanks! What would you like to see more of?
+Red 5 +Red 5 your bike, how you did the mods. I'm interested in the seat, how'd you put the gel in there? oh and do you like that windscreen?!
This is the video I used on how to install the gel pad in the seat.
th-cam.com/video/pvA4Hnt9qUM/w-d-xo.html
They have videos on how to install the seat cover as well.
I like the looks of the windscreen, but I still get a lot of air on the freeway. I don't drive much on the freeway though. The windscreens that really protect you from the wind at high speeds are kind of ugly unfortunately.
Yeah I like the way it looks, but compared to stock i suppose it does something lol?
+Axelxl Oh yeah... Don't get me wrong, it's a huge improvement over not having anything. Plus it keeps the wind off my GPS
What state are you in because I couldn't get that exhaust shipped to me in California. I have a wht/blk '16 FZ-07 as well.
I’m in California, had no issues getting the exhaust.
The black/white bikes were only available in 2015.
Did your r&g rear spools fit right? The rod wouldn't go far enough through the axel to evenly tighten the nuts. I had to grind it down a bit. What about yours?
Mine fit right in. Did you try inserting it from the other side? The ends are different because of the axle nut.
Hee man nice bike! can you easy remove the ermax seat because i want to put some things under the seat like the disk brake lock and is the seat locked by open it with the key on the side?
patrick l The rear cowl goes on and off just like the seat with key in the side. You still have the same storage area underneath
Red 5 thanks for your reaction!!
real nice man
Thank you sir!
Nice bike man
Thanks!
Nice mods!
Thank you :)
how is that wind screen. looks like it does a great job as well as looking good.
The windscreen is great around town, but a freeway speeds it puts the air right under my chin. If you tuck in a bit the air will go over your head. It's mainly for looks. I think it cleans up the front of the bike.
+Red 5 Hi Red 5, how tall are you? I'm 5'7" and am wondering if the wind will hit me under the chin as it does you.
I'm 5'8" so in the upright riding position most likely it will. They make taller windscreens that work better but I don't like the looks. And after all it is a naked bike so a little wind in the face is expected. If I'm taking a long trip I wear earplugs.
the rear hugger extension, how did youput it on. is it glued?
Daniel Schlegel - I used black RTV Silicone to install it. It comes with some rubber cement stuff but DO NOT USE IT, I've heard people say there's fell off when they've used it. Mine still holding strong with the black silicone.
Shit ... i need like .. at least half of that stuff hahaha ... Nicely done man :)
Thank you!
You're welcome. I need to start upgrading my FZ-07 , but I think I will leave the exhaust last. Windscreen is a priority , I have figured out a way to use my phone on a very small tank bag as a GPS, although your solution is much smoother and sophisticated . That bag that goes on the passenger seat - I need to get me one of those asap , it will make carrying my work and gym clothes and accessories around so much easier... But all your upgrades make sense. Shit.. I just wish all those accessories weren't as expensive as they are, in the end it all adds up to a big sum of money :D
The problem with the GPS on the tank is that you have to look down to see it, that can be dangerous. The RAM Mount is actually not that expensive, a little under $50
Yeah , I honestly haven't tested it in traffic yet , it works just fine on a longer trip outside of town , in traffic looking down may be an issue. The mount is cheap , but I am reluctant to mount my phone anywhere there without a screen , which automatically makes the whole thing worth $200 :P As I said - shit adds up . How did you get the usb charger , I know there should be a DC connector somewhere behind the plastic piece by the tank , but I haven't taken it off to mess around with it. Was it complicated ?
Yeah there is a DC connector on the bike, but the USB charger I have just wires straight to the battery and has it's own fuse. It's just a generic charging port from Cycle Gear. It's really easy to install. It has a connector too so if I need to remove the windscreen it just unplugs.
www.cyclegear.com/accessories/trackside-usb-outlet
I cut off the mounting ears and just used the 3M heavy duty double sided tape
beautiful
Thank you! Check out my latest video, I've made a couple more small changes
I watched them all. I'm thinking of buying one.
Outstanding :)
Hard to believe but the Duke really does go good but I want more. To old for a sport bike so the 07 looks perfect
I hear ya...I've crossed that threshold too. My last two bikes were a ZX6r and a GSX-R600. I like this FZ because I can do my daily commute comfortably have some fun in the canyons as well.
The stock seat is not that comfortable for longer rides, but with that gel pad in there I can go all day now.
That was cool man!
is it worth to have a windscreen?
Thank you!
I guess it depends what you expect from the windscreen. The one on my bike I would say is more for looks, but it does help with the wind a bit.
If you really want to block the wind you'll need a larger screen, but I think they're a bit unsightly. It really comes down to personal preference.
I hope that helps answer your question.
+Red 5 yes, it was helpful ;)
+Red 5 yes, it was helpful ;)
Have you ever been pulled over for not having any front or rear reflectors? I'm also in Cali and was thinking about removing the reflectors. Thanks.
Nope, never been pulled over for any of my mods. The police here generally leave bikes alone if you're not doing anything stupid. I'm pretty sure the integrated tail light is not technically legal either.
Red 5 Cool. I’m gonna go ahead and do it. Also, you’re the first person I’ve seen with that rear hugger extension and I’ve been eyeballing one for my fz-07 for a while but wasn’t sure how it’d look around the bike. I finally ordered one last night it. ;)
Yeah I think the rear hugger looks good on just about any bike. Let me give you some advice on installing it. DO NOT use the cheap rubber cement that comes with it, get some black silicone RTV from the auto parts store. It's best to remove the fender which can be done without removing the rear wheel, but removing the wheel will make it easier. Use a good amount of the RTV, clamp it together, and let it sit over night.
In your description it says you removed the power commander. Did you replace it with another fuel controller? I was told that you should have some sort of fuel controller on the bike if running a full exhaust.
I had my ECU re-flashed
Very nice. I have one in red. Which wind screen is that?
Thank you. It's the Givi A2118
Thank you.
Hey am looking to get a seat cover, is the luimoto seat cover more comfortable for longer rides?
Alex K - The seat cover by itself won't help much for comfort, but I've added gel pad under the cover that helps 1000% There's a video from Luimoto that shows you how to install the gel pad. It's not that hard to do
Alex K th-cam.com/video/pvA4Hnt9qUM/w-d-xo.html
Alex K - You could always have it installed by an upholstery shop as well. I did mine myself and it came out ok
Red 5 thanks for the info
I like your rear end lift, who makes it? thx.
SlyB - Do you mean the track stand? It's actually just a cheap one from Cycle Gear.
Thanks for watching!
have you thought about using a straight handlebar compared to the stock? and what about harder suspension?
No I use this bike mostly for commuting so I like the upright position.
I've stiffened up the forks (check out my video), and I run the rear spring 2 clicks up which works pretty good for me.
Def will! If I could suggest for deeper content, you should add your opinions on what you liked and don't like about the stock and OEM parts. I'm tryna get the 07 too, so I'll probably check or more vids
There's a lot FZ07 videos out there, I'm sure you you've seen many of them. It's a really good bike depending on what you expect from it.
I've been riding super sport bikes for a long time, but I wanted something a little more comfortable to commute on. At the same time I wanted a bike I could take to the canyons and still have fun.
If you have any specific questions feel free to ask.
Hey. How much was the reflash?
It was $320 when I had it done. I think the price has gone up a bit since then. Re-flashes are free if you ever change anything. There's a do it yourself flash kit for about $400.
What year is your FZ 07? Also I am 6'0 about 225lbs and looking to get a sport bike. I like the FZ 07 but am wondering if it would be a good bike for a guy of my height and weight. What are your thoughts?
N-JAXS - it's a 2015. I've seen some pretty big guys on FZ-07's but it's going to be up to you to figure out if you're comfortable on it. I would try riding one or at least sitting on one to see how it feels for you.
Great looking bike! Whats the full name off that windscreen?
and could you let us know where you got it.
Andreas Dahlberg Thank You! It's a Givi A2118
chris moynes I got it from Revzilla.com
Aye bro do you still have your old rear seat? If so I am interested in buying it.
Hey man! Sorry, I still have it but I use it to strap on the tail bag.
Is the seat destroyed or did the cover just get ripped? If so, Luimoto makes rear seat covers.
www.luimoto.com/?p=505
Enjoying your videos, looking forward to seeing the bike back on the road.
lol nvm then! thanks anyways bro!
No problem. . i have a question What's the difference between this bike fzo7 and the mt07
The MT-07 is the European version and has some different options. They have optional ABS, and they have version that limits the horsepower. In Europe your motorcycle license limits you to a certain amount of horsepower, and you have to work your way up to qualify for a better license.
Otherwise the FZ-07 and MT-07 are identical.
Now in Europe bikes are required to have 47hp from factory for A2 you can't make a 75hp bike a 47hp bike anymore unfortunately for those blokes over the pond.
How much difference do you find the windshield makes on the highway
N jerums I would say it's 25% better. It gets the wind off your chest but you still get a face full.
Do you still have the FZ-07? Thinking of getting this bike in March. Any cons? Now the MT-07, of course...
Good vid!
Brandon Galindo Thank you! Yes I still have it and ride it almost everyday. It's got almost 18k miles now and I still love it!!
Hey, How's that rear hugger working? Is it less dirty under the seat? (and suspension)
That thing is awesome! Yes it really helps keep the under side clean. I suppose it helps keep the shock and spring cleaner too.
If you get one, don't use the adhesive that comes with it. I've read a lot of people have had them come off. I used black silicone to install mine and it's really solid.
If you go on sand it ends up on the rear hugger and suspension.
Nice ride, you fly RC as well?
Thank you. Yes I fly RC as well. All my planes are 20cc - 55cc gas now, mostly warbirds. Unfortunately I don't have videos of my planes because I'm always the one behind the camera lol
Well we have a lot in common. I have three yamaha's in the "bike shop" '15 fz-07 w/ Akrapovic carbon & ti header, "15 fj-09 /w same exhaust system & "88 virago bobber project and a whole bunch of RC's in the house..smallest is the foamy scale MiG 15 edf, su-35 freewing edf to 38 cc Decathalon, 62 cc 1/5 Harvard (SNJ) ..horizon twinn otter glow powered, 1/6 feisler storch glow..float piper low wing ..and on..one day I will put the "fun times" on a channel..I should have known as for the "red 5" luftwaffe? ident..have a great day!!
Outstanding! We both have the same sickness lol. I have a picture of a couple of my planes on Instagram - ytred5 is my page.
ha lol, I was nearly conviced that I was alone with this condition. Would be great if their were a few more of us to have a "burning man".
oh so how is you brake on your bike is good or u need the abs version?
The brakes are very good. I've been riding a long time and I've never had a bike with ABS, so not having it is not an issue for me.
For new riders or people that ride in the rain, ABS would be a good thing to have. It doesn't rain much where I live.
Learn to ride without ABS it's a good idea... it teaches you not to push your limits an expect ABS to be there to save you.
yup nice mods. Thinking of trading in my 2016 Duke 390 for a new FZ-07
Thank you! I've never ridden the Duke but I'm pretty sure you won't be disappointed with the FZ-07
Get the FZ-07 and then take a look at the Toce performance exhaust I have a reveal video of the very first on my channel. Nice thing about the FZ-07 is full exhausts aren't necessary after talking with Dan Toce of Toce performance and a few other experts they all told me the same thing header backs provide negligible performance increases on an FZ-07 unless you went the titanium route. Also if you want you can start with a slip on and then get an Arrow header to midpipe and weld them together down the road.
No bolt on accessory will make a dramatic difference in power. If you want meaningful increases you need to do internals like bigger cams and higher compression. This is not the most powerful bike there is, so if you're looking for huge gains you should be looking at the FZ-09 or FZ-10.
The biggest reason to change the exhaust is because the stock exhaust makes the bike sound like a sewing machine lol. The exhaust is as much a fashion statement as anything else. That Toce exhaust looks nice!
Red 5 Lol I'm the last person you need to explain this to.
Nice bike
Thank you
Gonna do anything with the mirrors?
I actually have a set of CRG bar end mirrors, they look awesome!! But I use this bike for commuting so opted to put the stock mirrors back on for better visibility. To many idiots on the road that I need to look out for.
does the power commander help a lot with the fz07?
With a non-stock exhaust, you either need to run the power commander or have the ECU flashed with a new map. Otherwise the bike will be popping and farting.
With a stock exhaust, you'll get a slight improvement but it's so slight you may not notice.
+Red 5 does it make the bike faster with the performance exhaust?
It has a much broader power range and better throttle response. It's a big improvement and the sound is awesome. The stock exhaust is way too quiet in my opinion.
I suggest going with a ECU re-flash from 2 Wheel Dyno Works much better than a piggyback controller and much easier to install. If you want a piggyback controller go with EJK it's a better device.
The nice thing about the piggyback controllers is being able to put them in closed loop mode and tune them to your specific bike and riding habits.
where can you get the hugger extender?
www.ebay.com/p/Pyramid-Plastics-072437/1548458216
thx
Cheers mate!
Cheers!
why did you remove the PCV
Since I had the ECU re-flashed, there was no need to have an additional fuel controller
is that tail bag water resistant?
By itself, I don't think so. But it does include a waterproof rain cover which I haven't tried out because it doesn't rain much where I live.
yup it's exactly what I'm looking for. I don't need and or want 180 hp. would do me zero good for what I need the bike for. Same reasons as you
I'll be doing some riding videos soon, no street rossi crap and no moto vlogs, just cool roads at a leisurely pace with good engine sounds. I'm just working on some details so check back in a week or two.
Homi the Winshild is waaaaay to big, your bike looks like an really Bike !
sweet
Thank you!
you have GPS .............. cool
I'd get lost without it lol
i have the same screen, dudster
Are you interested in selling your bike? If yes you have a customer!
Haha maybe some day but not yet. Thanks for watching
