I also like the idea of Smith buying the brand name from the ECHL Grizzlies and it becomes the NHL team, while the ECHL team would be rebranded the Golden Eagles as a nod to their hockey past.

While I’m sad for Arizona(also confident they’ll be back), I think this is going to work in Utah because the support is going to be there without a doubt. The icing on the cake is Smith looks to be an owner who is fully committed to investing in the team as a whole from top to bottom, and that’s the difference right now.
That would be a pretty cool name and imagine that they call their arena The Hive or even have a nickname like that even if it’s not official, similar to the San Jose Sharks having their arena known as the Shark Tank.

With the Pioneers, they could have a logo with certain design cues of the La Salle Explorers logo where instead of a pirate looking through a telescope it could be a Mormon pioneer looking through binoculars and having mountains in the background. The Elks they would have to make sure to not make a logo resembling the Milwaukee Bucks but Gilas, that would be very interesting and unique.

SLC is a minor league city. It’s Sacramento with mountains. The Jazz are a joke and the new hockey franchise will be a joke as well. Should pair well with the region, I suppose!
