Heavener does seem more fitted for vocals which is still amazing but Greyview was perfect and flawless as an instrumental album. Stillworld is amazing too but idk if an album will top greyview instrumental edition for me personally.

I’m pretty sure keaton does .85 on his bottom, and .11-63s for the rest. don’t quote me tho !! I personally use an .80 on the bottom on my 25.5” scale, and it gets pretty wobbly

Bass is never an octave higher. That would sound weird. Some bands have the bass in the same octave as the guitars, but mostly it’s an octave below because it just sounds better
@@H8in2R4G3 Yeah I dug around some live performances of the song and you're probably right. In their live performances, the bass sounds like it's the same octave as the guitar. I think the bass on the album might be programmed. At 1:35 - Caleb's playing does not match with what's being heard on the album: the 1st and 3rd fret on the A# string sounds higher pitched than the 5th and 8th fret on the same string. In live videos, the 1st and 3rd fret sound the same as in this video. The 5th and 8th fret sound an octave higher, which it should be.

I really wonder what string gauge he uses to keep his playing so tight. My 7th is a 70 g string right now and I'm not sure if it could handle that tuning without sounding like mush.

I can recommend the Daddario NYXL0980 Most of The new currents stuff is in Drop F I think 70 will do the job but u get a way better tone with the 80. But it depends on the guitar u play

what do you guys use for pitch shifting? What tuning are the guitar and bass in before being pitched to D#?
Should be drop F but they do 6 string drop A# with a F on the 7
They actually tune to D# and pitch shift up for everything else
