      I like they don't go to the alter if they don't want to get married. All versions of the series should do the same...it's more realistic. I mean...go to the alter and say "no" in front your friends and family it's just too dramatic and disrespectful

      I think telling the other person in advance is actually just the normal and best thing to do. Just imagine being denied in front of all your friends and families. That must be very difficult and awkward situation. In comparison, it seems very rude and inconsiderate for the other casts of LIB (America and Latino) To actually say no to their partners on stage. Of course its all for the show, but if you do care about other's feelings, it is not the best thing to do.

    Y'all are trippin about Pri. She was asking him questions constantly because he kept answering really vague, often contradictory or unfounded answers. She saw through his lies and wanted to dig through the truth, rightfully so. Also it is a marriage, it's not a date, so I support her asking about topics such as finances, businesses ...etc. Would you guys rather have the "amber" situation where she waited until a few days before marriage to tell her fiance about her crippling debt? Didn't think so. Pri is clearly an educated, business minded woman and treated this show seriously.

      I totally agree. Given that "both" of them are entrepreneurs, they must want to understand each other's business. True entrepreneurs are almost always thinking of new business ideas. It is also why Misuki's whole facade did not stand a chance in front of Priya. I guess Priya found it rude to grill him in the pods, otherwise she could have figure it out earlier. I think Misuki have a huge self esteem issue and could not present himself genuinely. Otherwise, he might actually have some chances.

    I loved the Japanese version. It was so realistic, human and poetic. It felt like they all really tried to understand one another and everyone was actually trying vs just making out all the time and jumping right into sex with someone you don't even know. It did frustrate me how they all struggled so hard to communicate their feelings but I understand that's the culture. They tend to keep emotions to themselves. But everyone was so respectful of one anothers feelings and when someone wasn't interested or couldn't do it anymore they respected that, unlike the American version where the men were so clingy and rude whenever the women said they weren't interested. I was disgusted by how many of the American men acted compared to most of the Japanese men. I sometimes felt like I was watching a romance movie with the Japanese version. It was so enjoyable and I absolutely adored the guy with the white hair and his girlfriend. They were precious and seem so perfect togetger. I hope they're still together.

I didn't expect Japanese to be staring at the computer so long ( I consider it kinda awkward and rude ). The other barber boy just changed his expectation of kids without much explanations. Misuki was so vague and pretentious about his career, it is almost lying.

    Pri spoke on how she was nervous about money because of the fact her father lost all his money due to poor choices and she has a fear of her partner repeating what her father did. So it makes sense she would want her partner to be secure and able to make good choices, not throwing money around to be flashy but smart about finances. I think the editing latches onto the idea about her being nervous about money and choose to edit it in a way that wasn’t very clear on it being her worried as a result of what her family went through but rather wanting a rich husband. She didn’t like how he lied and wasn’t open about his situation and that’s what stresses her out. • @Tobiasu
      @Tobiasu 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      If roles were reversed and the woman asked for the most expensive wine I wonder how the reaction would be, it differs from culture to culture. Where I live men usually do it to impress his girlfriend (like Mizaki tried, I supose) and when the girlfriend does, well it's a test to see how far her man would go for her.

    • @missjih2563
      @missjih2563 2 ปีที่แล้ว +8

      @@Tobiasu Yeah, of course how people handle money is different in different cultures. But considering the conversations they had already had with him telling her he had already lost everything once, and her concerns since something similar had happened in her family, I think it was clear that something like that would not impress her. She had told him this and he still said he wanted the most expensive wine just because it was the most expensive and didn't even check what it was if I remember correctly (?). But yeah, I get your point, some girls are very impressed with money. It was just a bad move on his part in that situation and with her, since it clearly was a red flag at that point.

    Okay the thing about Pri asking about Mizuki’s career goals only started because she started to feel like he would not be able to provide for her as much as she can for him. She reacted that way about the wine regardless if they were the ones to pay for it or not because Mizuki didn’t even hesitate to go for the expensive wine. That says a lot about someone’s character, so Pri I think from there just started bombarding him with career questions cause she wanted to see if Mizuki’s bold and spontaneous consumption of expensive things can be justified. Because if not, then that’s just irresponsible spending.
    Pri is literally a catch, she’s beautiful, smart and successful. She deserves someone who’s just like her.

    • @kenmashikin
      @kenmashikin 2 ปีที่แล้ว +15

      I think the more important point is that Priya found him suspicious. Both of them are businessmen/Entrepreneur. At least Misuki presented himself as such. But his actions and thinkings do not seem he actually have anything solid. Entrepreneurs are ambitious, but they are also calculative and down to earth. Misuki was neither. Being a real entrepreneur herself, Priya must be confused and doubtful. Her doubt was eventually justified at the restaurant, where she found that Misuki was an employee, instead of the "Business Partner" he portrayed himself.
      Of course, finance is a huge issue, but in a relationship, that is second to honesty.

      agree on the finance part. I consider it a bigger problem that Misuki was not honest about himself. Maybe he tried too hard to impress. I think they paid for their own meals bc some people eat fairly extravagantly while others had like a mint. 🙄 (Some girls also got a million roses while others got nothing.) It also makes sense for Priya to grill the guy about his money because she knows it doesn’t add up. Finances is an important part of a marriage so you really need to know before you say I do. She went bankrupt before so she needs to be extra careful with her money. If she was in it for the fame, she would have pretended to be nice and cute and makes up some stuff to dump him at the altar.

      Interesting! I’m American but I really preferred the Japanese version. I’m watching the first season of the American version now and the men are cursing, some are yelling or pouting at the women, splaying out on the couches and just acting kind of like teenage-brained frat boys. The women are kind of catty with eachother and no one really asks important questions. No one feels ready for marriage to me lol. I really loved that the Japanese contestants seemed to take it really seriously, and really thought things out before they said them. Passing the letters and the gifts like that art book was really sweet. A lot of them felt like poets and ready to take care of someone forever.
      Tbf I don’t like how no one said “I love you” in the Japanese version and how simple the rings are but maybe that’s the American standards in me lmao

    • @MrsLyds
      @MrsLyds 2 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      @@SkywarDovahkiin as about the rings, that’s the Japanese style. Japanese people don’t like being flashy therefore the rings are very small and elegant. Bands are very thin and the diamonds are small as hell. Nothing comparing to what the American ones are. The exact opposite. But the prices for those rings are double the price of the American rings. Wedding bands start over $600 the cheapest 😝. My husband was looking for an engagement ring for me and everything was so tiny but over 3-4k

      I was actually so surprised by the rings in the show that I googled it and saw someone say something similar 😂 That makes sense, their clothes aren’t flashy in the same way as ours are either. I’m not a huge fan of massive diamonds or clunky rings in general, but seeing them all be about the same cut, band, and size was a culture shock that I wasn’t expecting. That’s so interesting about the prices though! The comment I read claimed the Japanese usually prefer a higher quality diamond than the US typically goes for so maybe that’s why they’re so expensive despite the simplicity? Idk about the price of the band though omg. Did you meet your husband in Japan?

It makes sense eps if she doesn't want to be with someone who will be a financial burden. Loving their personality was already established when they chose each other. But you don't live and eat love. Love isn't going to keep your stomachs full at the end of the day, and having a partner who lives beyond their means and comes into the relationship with no concept of money will break relationships. She's obviously not with him for his money, but doesn't mean she shouldn't protect herself from someone who might be with her for hers. Seems like Mizuki doesn't have enough knowledge in business and for him to call himself a restaurateur is a joke esp if he doesn't understand the costs involve.

    "Hafu" is considered as an outdated term by many, as it comes across fairly derogatory. Therefore it would have been better if you used that term with a bit more caution. An example might be when English speaking people used to use the term "half caste" for mixed race people (especially to describe black and white people). Now that there are a lot of mixed raced Japanese people, it's quite rude to generalise them as "hafu" (meaning "half") because it only acknowledges that they are part Japanese and doesn't respect what else they are, as if the Japanese part is the only part of importance or relevance. And therefore it's derogatory because some people use that term to signify that they see those people as less than, because they are not fully Japanese.

    For Priya, remember most couples get divorced because of financial difficulties. This is why I would not get married unless I was financially stable and expect the same of my partner. I do not want a rich person because I prefer people with the same background who built up. That being said, I relate to Priya. Wanting an ambitious and stable man is not the same as wanting a rich man. There are rich lazy men who rely on family name and fortune. If you grew up poor or lost a home like she did, you understand the importance of financial security and intelligence even more.

    I found KAORU very stiff and unlikeable. It seemed like she only wanted exposure for her singing.
    AYANOs voice and laughed annoyed me. It got to a point where I just fast forward her.
    Comedian guy. I hear a lot of comedians are actually quite serious in real life. Many suffer from depression or have serious trauma.
    MIDORI I liked her a lot in the beginning but she came off as shallow and immature in regards to Waturu. I feel like he deserves better.
    The young 23 yr old hairstylist was immature and shouldn’t have been on the show. He wasted beautiful Nana’s time.
    Sooooo Happy for RYOTARO/MOTOMI! Opposites attract! They both appreciate each other’s differences and are true yin/yang. I wish them the best!! ❤️❤️

    I live in japan and yes greasy hair is a trend in japan. Calling somebody a hafu ( half japanese ) isnt nice. And the mairrage isnt real in japan you need to sign to make it official. Its just fake.

    • @Soosane
      @Soosane 2 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      You are mistaken about the "hafu" part. I am part of a big hafu community in Japan and almost all the people refer to themselves as hafu and take pride in the term.
      There was a big thing in the Japanese media a few years back speaking about the term in a negative light (because it MIGHT be percieved as not "pure Japanese" enough) but actual hafus are ok with the term.

      I would recommend the Japanese love is blind due to the fact that I really could feel they truly were sincere in finding true love...the approach was more about finding a life companion rather than just someone to marry...there was plenty of emotion...don't use these clips to judge an entire show and it was great to see dating from another culture perspective...I dont think you will regret it...plus the focus was not so much on the physical even though that eventually came up after couples paired up.

    • @posemwen

      There are a lot of expressions and emotions in this. The US version seems stage or like they cause trouble on purpose for clout.

    • @Piecesoftheshadow
      @Piecesoftheshadow 2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      It was very poetic, emotional and human. Felt real unlike the American one where it felt like everyone was clingy and jumping right into making out and sex. Those things felt more important than finding a true companion like the Japanese version. I will say, it was frustrating ag times when they wouldn't just straight up tell one another how they felt or would do it in front off friends instead of privately together, but I understand communicating emotions is harder in other cultures. But once they did open up, they did so respectfully, poetically (felt like a romance movie at times) and with emotion. I was proud of how direct some of them were and how they wouldn't go down the aisle if they made up their mind before hand. Of anything, at least watch it for the guy with dyed hair (struggling to remember his name) and his girl. They were absolutely adorable.

    I’ve watched both seasons of Americas love is blind and this one of Japan but Is it me or America’s love is blind is people actually wanting to find love whereas Japans version was more like a game and most of them just trying to win and get picked to get to the next phase? (speaking of when they were in the pods) Overall, I’m glad 2 of the couples did make that big commitment.

    LOL I noticed that greasy hair thing but not just with that one girl, I noticed it with multiple girls! I thought maybe it was just my imagination (I first noticed it when they were all in the pods) but all-throughout the show I just had this weird feeling that all the girls had greasy hair. lmao I figured maybe they simply don't wash their hair as much in Japan.

      Hair oil is a new trend as hair styling in the past year. It’s the most stylish way to do. I can’t tell for these contestants but thought I’d share because I was just thinking yesterday like if I have a plan to travel to the states, should I not purchase a hair oil because people may think it’s just greasy? Lol so I guess it’s not a trend to use oil there now?
