So.. all stations are the most important? Love your content by the way, very helpful when finding games and getting a good overview without having to watch let's plays!

In a way. You'll will feel like the station you have is really important and that you shouldn't mess up.
And when people mess up, its always the most important thing to get right :)

Your explanation makes this seem way more fun than any other I’ve watched or read. I need to investigate more, thanks!

Cheers. Yeah, it can be a lot of fun if people get into it and you don't mind making a mess. Laughing at your mistakes is the key

This board game video had me actually laughing out loud.

Was it the "most important station" bits?

@@3MBG Yes and the "look someone gives you when they've completely messed up."

So everyone works a different station, but if you have less than 6 players does someone work multiple stations? Would you say it plays best when you have max players?

Yep, there is a double sided captains board that you can use at low player counts as well that has two timed phases at the front end of the turn as well.
Even at 6 players, people will be playing multiple stations. For example, the captain may operate the sensors during the real time phase. And the engineering player may also be doing the jump drive later in the turn.

This is a great description of Space Cadets! But you've forgotten the most important station - Science Station!

    • @3MBG
      @3MBG  6 ปีที่แล้ว +4

Not forgotten, omitted. I don't have the expansion.
That said, I really do want to pick up the expansion at some point as the science station sounds mental. But I have never, ever seen it in store in NZ. And Its a bit of an ask to import a small expansion like that

That is too bad -- really -- without the Science Station you can't upgrade the parts of your ship at all. Without those upgrades you're doomed!

My friends are deep Star Trek fans, and i believe they would thoroughly enjoy this

Weirdly, its probably the best Star Trek game on the market, despite not being Star Trek (along with "the captain is dead")

I’ve had this game for 5 years and haven’t played it - I really want to - it looks fun

It can be super fun, but really needs a biggish group

Three years ago we used to play this a lot (I made custom boards for it and all) and got really good at it. Tried it again last week and... Turn 3 core breach! No matter what the Helm officer says, he is to blame. It really is a lot of fun with 4+ people.

“You win when the ship explodes”
    “When the ship explodes”
    “When”
    Not if

When playing this, that happened to us the first 4 times. I think our 5th game, everything gelled and we actually won the mission easily. It was surreal how well everything went.

3 Minute Board Games well that sounds good. And relieving.
