- My International Harvester 270A backhoe was giving difficulties starting. In this video I change the fuel filters and flush out contamination in the fuel system, bleed the fuel system, and restart the machine.
The International 270A backhoe was built from 1978 to 1981. The powertrain is based on the International 884 agricultural tractor and uses the IH D268 4 cylinder naturally aspirated diesel engine built in Neuss Germany.
This has been a great machine for me but after sitting for three months the moisture contamination in the fuel system had plugged the fuel filters.
