Biome Keys unlock unique chests, not weapons - my bad for mixing up 'chest' and 'weapon.' Got a bit lost in the intense editing process and missed a couple of details. Apologies for any confusion caused
Extreme process during editing, when I edit a video I just focus on that and don't take on additional processes especially extremes one. So what was the extreme process...?

You did a very good job at the video editing, I'm sure it was incredibly tedious but the hard work did pay off, this video gives all the information 10x faster/easier then the wiki. 👍👍

@@turtles3 as you said. Diamonds, rubies and such can be downgraded gem by gem till u reach stone and dirt. Same with ores, with luminite being the best and copper being the worst. That meaning there is no need to look for a world with copper.
I remember thinking I was going insane when I dropped luminite bricks in the shimmer to get more of one of the bricks and It gave me something different (I didn't know there were multiple at the time)

My favorite transmutation is turning the golfer into a cat to match the zoologist (who is canonically his sister for those of you who don’t know). I think it’s just a nice little detail and so I’m definitely shimmering him every time I get the chance to in a world.

(I just heard someone else mention it, later I found out from NPC dialogue, it's obviously the golfer.)

First time I found shimmer i accidentally fell into it phasing straight into the underworld and instantly dying in a lava lake. So I advise you to dig a tunnel underneath from one bank of the shimmer to another so you can get back to it easily to it just in case you fall into it.

@@Ziiio you forgot to include when any slime is submerged in the shimmer it becomes a shimmer slime that deflects projectiles like how the shimmer does.

@@Ziiiogem bunnies also turn into gems making a town in the aether basically a gem farm if you afk on one side

Hey, want to add another transmutation that i thought was useful; if you have a zombie arm, drop it in shimmer to get a whoopie cushion, so keep an eye out for any occasional drops you get from zombies.
So i don't want to waste all my time i used to. Thanks for that, bruh.

Blood moons are great for farming zombie arms, especially if you get buffs like battle potions and water candles to boost spawns
Decrafting with Shimmer is also HUGE, as it can help you do things like decraft an old item to use or sell the materials, decraft and recraft a weapon until you get a good reforge, or even use it to gain some free materials by decrafting an item you found in a chest or an item an enemy dropped.

2:53 so undoubtedly pissed cause I finally got a charm after crate hunting for 2 days and getting it on my last crate. Just to find out I could’ve used one of my many magma stones to make it. The amount of rage is so indescribable

So something really weird happened in my world
When I found the goblin for the first time he was in the shimmer biome
he walked into the shimmer
and now I have a shimmered goblin before hardmode
Except NPCs that can only be acquired in hard mode. All NPCs can be transformed pre-hardmode.
@@Ziiio not “true”. Some novelty seeds spawn hard mode NPCs for the first day. You can totally shimmer them 🤭
Do the npc's remain in their shimmered forms after they die and respawn?

You can also use the shimmer for ankh shield components so you'll only need two of one item instead of going across the map to farm this one rare drop
The only rational way to obtain the pocket mirror.

Thank you for putting this all in one place. I spent well over an hour trying to find everything useful in the shimmer transformation wiki page (then later realized it was simplified at the bottom) and really just, didn't want to ever see shimmer again. But this makes it much simpler to understand!

Fairly certain the biome chests won't have their items in them when you place them after obtaining them from shimmering a biome key. Pretty sure shimmering the keys is just so you can have multiple biome chests to decorate your base with if you want, instead of having to use multiple worlds.
Yeah I was wondering about this; I threw my spare biome key into shimmer and it just gave me the empty chest. I think it's just a use for any spare keys you might have, or as you said, just for decoration
You're correct, and I apologise; I messed up with the "weapon" and "chest" words while editing

you can put in dungeon bricks to get ancient bricks, also you can put in hardmode crates for prehardmode ones, as well as some other stuff like ores downgrading and free reforges
