Flyff will always be my nostalgic flying MMO. It was also my first MMORPG-I played from V4 to V9 and on a lot of private servers. I joined Flyff Universe during its first few months and had an amazing time with so many people playing. Managed to max upgrade my level 75 items without spending anything, then quit. I ended up selling all my stuff (which probably wasn’t legal, lol) but made $3k after just a month or two of playing.

You get so much respect from me for mentioning the LT OST. 😤 I did come back to Universe for a while. Got a Jester to 75, as well as a few other jobs to 60+. The thing that bothers me the most is that the game expects you to have a Ringmaster present at all times if you want to get anything done at a normal/fast pace. And even then, unless you're blowing massive amounts of penya (or real life Cash) on your equipment, you're gonna have a bad time, especially if you want to play a squishy DPS class optimally. The devs had such a huge opportunity to do what has never been done before and actually regularly balance the classes out with patches, but instead stopped halfway with the idea and went back to just letting armor set effects do the job. Meaning class balance is locked behind the higher levels. Again. CLASS BALANCE is a high-level feature. 😬 And then, for some classes, builds are super limited. Jester, for example, can only do 1v1 Auto Attack crit build. Skill spam was almost a thing, but the damage is laughable after a certain point, and AoE was almost a thing, but the Jester AoE is practically unusable and extremely clunky, and there's no sign that they're ever gonna fix it.
I still play Flyff Universe, but just to look at it and look pretty while fighting stuff. It's a great game. However, it lacks content once the player reaches a certain level or max level.
My childhood game, I have a friend who I met ingame and we used to play this a lot... We were in touch even when I wasn't active anymore, and just out of nowhere he disappeared and found out years later that he died :/ but yeah, i remember this is very "pay to win game" unless you're just really good at playing lol, which I'm not, I sucked. I still miss playing it, I kind of want to play it now haha
Thank you for making the video. I hope some does more videos on the community. Flyff seems to house a fascinating little niche community that I think deserves to be explored more. I am falling in love with the game all over again despite the major flaws you pointed out. Just goes to show a strong community can make just about anything work!
I started playing Flyff in 2006. Switched to Fly for fame, revival of silence and eventually insanity Flyff which I played for some years until dropping the game for good. Yesterday I was thinking about the game and just tried out universe. The soundtracks and the slow grind reminded me of the good old times (yea I know...). In 2006 I played with 6 friends and my brother which was a blast. Starting up the pc after school, starting a conference call (and being yelled at because we did not have a telephone flatrate) and just deep diving into the game eventually ending up with a ringmaster, a bow jester and an elementor. It just was an endless time sink. Ending up at level 16 today I really had to get used to the slow progress again. In insanity flyff I'd have a new chatacter leveled to 300 within the same amount of time. I am hoping my brother will join me playing universe. It's quite boring to play alone but I really want to give it another shot.
Greeat video! Flyff is such a nostalgic mmo. It's sad to see the game still caters to old type of mmo gamers where they basically have to grind mindlessly for days just to get to the good part of the game.
Flyff Universe started in 2022 and is based on version 7 of the game. It has tons of quality of life improvements. You should try it. Skills now have proper scaling. So many improvements.
Played it on release for month and half or two. They scammed all of us. They kept it pay to win to the max. They promised to mitigate that. Inflation was a fucking monster in that game.

The game is fun at the beginning, the grind is fun. But when you get to the higher lvls you understand that it's a shit P2W like it always been. You have absolutely no access to cash shop items in game, and cash shop items are basically everything you need in an mmo game, upgrades, etc.. its not focused only on quality of life, cash shop includes basically everything. Overall the game has a lot more accessibility. Just not at hind sight. Thats why people like it. I hope you make another video playing the game from level 1 to level 60 ang getting to the 2nd job advanced even without doing research onna build. I doubt you will tho.
@@VagrantVideos there is an npc buffer the lil penguin dudes all over the map called buff pangs. They provide lvl 5 buffs from lvl 1 to 60 and lvl 10 buffs fro lvl 60 to 119. They also have an exp and drop rate buff so they're worth while to use. I understand that a ringmasters buffs are still top tier but the social aspect is a mechanic on its own for older mmos such as these. Some players do have an alt as a buffer. Leveling up 2 characters at the same time. I personally dont do that and just make a build that will carry me through endgame. I have 5 characters ranging from 60 to 75 that all were solo play. I have a do a slower leveling progression but my payoff is characters that can solo worlds bosses with no ringmaster buffs needed. I cant do the instance dungeons cuz i am solo but the open world dungeons offer a lot of challenge and gear as well.
Hay un nuevo servidor que sale en diciembre se llama galaxyflyff y darán premios en efectivo , creo que son 500 dólares para los que completen primero lo que piden y por llegar a lvl 120
1. It's nice the community got to be devs where old devs were completely incompetent. 2. It's not nice that the IP owners of Flyff never really let down on the greed, it's still heavily microtransaction focused and it's near impossible to enjoy the entire game without paying anything. Wish they would find a good balance in it's monetization and that the lore got a revamp and was improved. Clockwork invasions will always be cool.
you should do ragnarok although i think that one is better on the private server side since the official NA one is a hodgepodge of server from KR to JP
I remember that I broke the market prices in my server before because I buy GPRO/SPRO at a cheap price then vend it the entire day/week at overpriced value but they can't complain because I hoarded those premiums then sold perins via RMT. So yeah, I'm sorry for being a greedy merchant before. 😅
i think flyff now is wayy easier than back then :3 the inflation in game sucks tho.... dont like how they capitalized some things..... like moonstones and sunstones, You used to find pretty common above 45+
Dang, I didn't know there were three versions of the game. Well, the only other one I'd touch is the PC version. I got an ad for the game about like 2 years ago and started playing, so I am new still.
Crafting/gathering has been added to Flyff Universe in the last couple of weeks, but not a very good system yet. If they listen to player complaints, there is much room for future improvement. Maybe revisit the game a year from now.
This was my very first MMO back in 2006. They had an update that turned every server into a PK-anywhere server. I quit and never played it again after that, it ruined the game
i just tried this game today due to seeing it on a youtube ad...the entry point i spawned in was so full up players and screenames it was disorienting..but now that i know il have to grind for a long and tedious 20 levels just to unlock flying (the main thing i was interested in) i think il pass.
game become much more popular and populated with the fwc servers.. come to mushpoie server :) also they do want to add market listing and crafting and more..
The artstyle and charm is something really lacking in the current modern era of gaming The consistent color choices and design elements from the structures down even to the items, skill icons, MUSIC and even damage borders are just so uniquely attractive as a whole making me want to go back to the game everytime
Gralo sie magiem vo duzy dmg później wubralem elemenora bo chciałem bic wiele potworow ale wyglad magi jaka szuka elementor spalil mi karte graficzna a raczej ja zepsuł bo gra nie wyświetla modele niektórych mobow potrzebna byla zmiana kompa xD
Nah ill pass, im planning to play The Ragnarok , the classic version will be available soon globally on mobile . Talk about bgm ragnarok has the most nostalgic.
what i kinda think is laking is the huge HP the mobs has for early game at least... a solo player must have a buffer or else you die pretty ezly or have not enough damage... and it is bad imo =/ And that doesn't encorage partying but instead create a new character and playp solo with 2 characters, 1 buffer and 1 main char ...
Not always. I know a bunch of people that played in FWC server that was able to max out (End gear pve & pvp) just by farming dungeons but don't be wrong they were farming all day for months.
what do you mean? you only need 1. arguably 2 if your a solo player. your main, and your full support RM. (which can actually kill on its own reliably in flyff universe thanks to moonbeam+merkaba.)
@@2ndgeneration348 the point you are saying now was NOT your original argument, read your comment. but i do agree its grindy as hell. well if you dont have time for that, this game is definitely not for you.

I love playing Flyff when it was on 2006, but its P2W mechanics made this as a sunsetting game, just spend your hard earned money in a subscription based game like FFXIV. What I hate in Flyff official, they do not have consistent developer, they always change and whenever they change all your hard work will be reset and will force you to create a new character from scratch again without compensation.
I'm at level 80 and grinding sucks. Monster gives me 0,03% xD I started like 3-4 weeks ago. If we talking about penya, you can easily earn enough just playing. Every 15lvls I can buy green/red set. But grinding it's just tooooo much. Like cmon 0,03% on lv80 so imagine how it is on level 100+ xD They should make leveling faster
I dont think the game is pay to win, theres alot of way to make your character strong without spending money on the game. For example, doing a power lvling service
As a new player you’d still need to spend time making in game penya which you aren’t gonna know how to do as a newbie. The barrier to entry is still a bit difficult.
You play a game to have fun, plvling for money is not fun. You gott do it for unhealthy hours and it wont upgrade your weapon from +8 to +9. You need way too much money for upgrading. If the game would be focused on quality of life cash shop and let players upgrade and do the fun things an mmo game offers for free the game would be a lot more popular. Its a expensive P2W game with absolutely no access to MMO standards, everything is bound to cash shop. In 2024?! hell no.

I hope you make another video playing the game from level 1 to level 60 ang getting to the 2nd job advanced even without doing research onna build. I doubt you will tho.
If I could find a reliable buff helper I would be higher lol. Hate having to bug a guildee constantly.
@@VagrantVideoswhat server are u in?
true but its better to get a job and pay for those scrolls lol
Going back definitely
you should do ragnarok although i think that one is better on the private server side since the official NA one is a hodgepodge of server from KR to JP
Currently I want to do Rose Online next and Throne and Liberty. Just need time with my full time job unfortunately.
I think flyff universe is the best version out there atm
I remember that I broke the market prices in my server before because I buy GPRO/SPRO at a cheap price then vend it the entire day/week at overpriced value but they can't complain because I hoarded those premiums then sold perins via RMT. So yeah, I'm sorry for being a greedy merchant before. 😅
The real mmorpg, no auto, no bp, try hard to get lvl its the real mmorpg
I didn't pay attention to this game back in the day because I was hooked on Tales of Pirates.
Never played that game
My first ever online game back in 2006. I will probably play this again if auto attack will be added.
auto combat are shit features hahah
@@jirokun3943 Not really. When a player is busy in real life this come really handy.
i think flyff now is wayy easier than back then :3 the inflation in game sucks tho.... dont like how they capitalized some things..... like moonstones and sunstones, You used to find pretty common above 45+
I’d really like to eventually add segments on my channel where I do an updated preview of a game. Maybe if I ever get more time I would.
This was my very first MMO back in 2006. They had an update that turned every server into a PK-anywhere server. I quit and never played it again after that, it ruined the game
I better play this game on a good private server.
does this game have good end game content ? and regular updates for new content ?
i just tried this game today due to seeing it on a youtube ad...the entry point i spawned in was so full up players and screenames it was disorienting..but now that i know il have to grind for a long and tedious 20 levels just to unlock flying (the main thing i was interested in) i think il pass.
Loved Flyff and Rose
I plan to cover Rose here soon. I’m lost in terms of its history though and nothing is documented lol.
I started playing this game back this year lol
Im playing flyff universe now totemia server free to play player just enjoying this game so much
Awesome video!!
Perfect World was actually the first one to have the flying mechanics and combat while flying mechanics
Flyff predates it though? Flyff is 2004. Perfect World according to wiki is 2005 at the earliest in China.
There are 3rd jobclasses in flyff pc so saying they have not added classes in 20 years is wrong. They are just not in the classic/universe version.
Huge nostalgia trip
game become much more popular and populated with the fwc servers.. come to mushpoie server :) also they do want to add market listing and crafting and more..
The artstyle and charm is something really lacking in the current modern era of gaming
The consistent color choices and design elements from the structures down even to the items, skill icons, MUSIC and even damage borders are just so uniquely attractive as a whole making me want to go back to the game everytime
My highschool game -mushpoie server
Is there any craft system/economy in game?
you need about 300+ bucks to max out a set of gear, not including jewelry. jewelry can cost 1000s.
I play it, so much fun!
can you check aero tales online too? please
Gralo sie magiem vo duzy dmg później wubralem elemenora bo chciałem bic wiele potworow ale wyglad magi jaka szuka elementor spalil mi karte graficzna a raczej ja zepsuł bo gra nie wyświetla modele niektórych mobow potrzebna byla zmiana kompa xD
This is like a classic server so you shouldn't expect new things from it.
we see us on totemia ^^
Nah ill pass, im planning to play The Ragnarok , the classic version will be available soon globally on mobile . Talk about bgm ragnarok has the most nostalgic.
i was playing this but after lv 30 i have stop becuz wow was just better nice free to play game for time most my friends did play
what i kinda think is laking is the huge HP the mobs has for early game at least... a solo player must have a buffer or else you die pretty ezly or have not enough damage... and it is bad imo =/
And that doesn't encorage partying but instead create a new character and playp solo with 2 characters, 1 buffer and 1 main char ...
Where is the flyff universe? It's gone in playstore
You have to do a weird work around to make the app for it. They have a guide on the website I believe.
just tried Flyff Universe and seems like more fun game than throne and liberty
Unfortunately its heavily pay2win and some classes arent even viable without payin, also u lose exp when u die.
Not always. I know a bunch of people that played in FWC server that was able to max out (End gear pve & pvp) just by farming dungeons but don't be wrong they were farming all day for months.
@@Itsjaymarquezmonths? Years.
the problem with this game is it requires you to create many characters making other class a pure support that cant shine hehe
what do you mean? you only need 1. arguably 2 if your a solo player. your main, and your full support RM. (which can actually kill on its own reliably in flyff universe thanks to moonbeam+merkaba.)
@@painnmisery2582 thats the point its grindy af its a game for people who doesnt have a life.
@@2ndgeneration348 the point you are saying now was NOT your original argument, read your comment. but i do agree its grindy as hell. well if you dont have time for that, this game is definitely not for you.
@@kenk5269 creating more characters means extra grind? haha wtf are even playing flyff people create 20 characters or more to farm its boring like that servers are full of fake accounts
I love playing Flyff when it was on 2006, but its P2W mechanics made this as a sunsetting game, just spend your hard earned money in a subscription based game like FFXIV. What I hate in Flyff official, they do not have consistent developer, they always change and whenever they change all your hard work will be reset and will force you to create a new character from scratch again without compensation.
umm several mmorpgs had flying, wow had flying in 2005
Can you do Nostale? :D
Maybe if I get time. Usually takes me 1-2 weeks to do just one video since I’m not a full time youtuber.
my main gripe in flyff U is that THERES NO CLIENT. i hate browser type game ;w;
Flyff u being a browser game made it better since you could open multiple accounts easily
hahaha, we have very polarizing opinion. i like flyff because they DITCH that client. my main gripe IS THE CLIENT.
i play insanity flyff its more fun in that server
great video
For me I enjoy the game, but I am not hard to please. I hear it's P2W, but I still haven't gotten that far in the game to know how bad it is.
They need to fix gheir leveling system and EXP rate cuz that shit killed the game fr
In 2024?! hell no.
YOO Classic game
lets goooo broo
hahah economy here in flyff universe is booming here .
1 item cost a 600$ 😂😂
depends on the demand and server
definitely not if you dont want to pay thousands of euros
Answer: No.
It used to be P2W, still is. Don't play it. Game is cool to play but not player friendly.
