Thank you so much!
WOW!!! Alot of work! Congratulations on your new baby & your new home!!
Thank you!! Lots of work but worth all the efforts!
I really enjoyed watching moving the dragon fruit as I need to move mine in for the winter / super cold weeks. I wish you had filmed the for sun issues as I burnt mine when they got moved out for the summer. I started from seed and am in NC and have been learning as I go.
Thank you! I wished I had time to film all that recovery part as well. I was so busy moving into the new home the dragons were a bit neglected until winter came.
If you’re getting sun scolding in your area I recommend using 30% shade cloth. This will keep them super happy and the sun burn won’t happen to them.
Congratulations
Thanks!
Sweeet! Nice update
Thank you!
I know the feeling when you move house and can't part with your dragon babies 🐲
I spent a year preparing for my big move by buying wine barrels, attaching wheels and uprooting in ground established plants (trellis and all) to wheel out of the house, onto the removals truck and wheel in to the new house.
Just myself and a little help from the wife 😊
Wow that's incredible! So glad you both were able to move it
Love your background, full of your neighbor fruit, now you can eat dragon fruit and citrus 🤤
Perfect combo
Love to watch you always
Thank you

Congrats to you and your wife on the new Baby and the new House David. Keeping you I my prayers. I have a question. You know how Vietnam White is considered a pure Undatus variety, and Red Jaina is considered a pure Polyrhizus variety do you know of any Pure Stenopterus varieties? I am working on new varieties myself and I want a pure Stenopterus to work with. I already have Setaceus, Undatus, Costaricensis, Guatmalensis, Polyrhizus, and Megalanthus. I have not yet, however identified a pure Stenopterus. Can you help me or point me in the direction of a resource that can help me? Blessings!
Thank you! Have you tried asking in my FB group? Lots of people can help
I have a trellis with 4 different varieties of dragon fruit on it. All have started to bud. Trying to research flower to fruit times for each of the plants. So far I’ve found
Delight 41 days
Sugar Dragon 42 days
AX+ 60 days
Condor ?
Are these about right?
Purchased all from cal poly nursery 2 years ago.
Thanks
Condor takes about 40-45 days
That is a lot of work. I gonna need to think about that too when I move.
Yes definitely plan ahead
Wow! What a job! If you are in GG or Westminster, I would love for you to come to my home and make a video of what I am doing wrong with my dragonfruit. I have great ties to the Little Saigon area as I was an educator for the Westminster School District. Did you go to Warner MS?
Much loved dragons! That will be me one of these days 😆How old are you plants? They look huge! Congrats on your new addition to the family!
Thank you so much! The plants are several years old. Average 2-3 years

Congratulations on the new addition to the family!!!!🎉🎉🎉🎉. How many DF plants you guys moved total???
Thank you! We moved a total of 22 established dragon fruit plants! 😅
Damn...me over here with just 4....haha I grow other things though so believe me it's a good variety of stuff. But 22!! That's lots of heavy poky dragons. And I bet it can get expensive..woo
haha you got other stuff so as long as you have one dragon fruit, that's already good!
Love From Nepal🇳🇵
Thank you! Hope to visit one day
Subbed to the food tv show
Thanks bro!

Thank you!! Perhaps a house tour soon!
@@GraftingDragonFruit yay ! 💐🎉😄
Blessings on your new home and on your upcoming baby 🙏🏻. Wanted to ask something can I mix different polen varieties to cross pollinate? Like Mixing Ecuador Palora, AB and SG polen to pollinate each one or other varieties. Some ppl have mentioned me that Ecuador palora polen is not good for other varieties is it true?
Yes you can mix pollen variety to cross pollinate but I would not recommend using Ecuador Palora to cross pollinate. Palora seems to fail on a lot of other varieties becuase ive tried it myself to try to create new varieties but the Palora pollen would fail when I use it to cross other varieties. So yes its true.
Thanks a lot for clarifying my doubt Richard 🙏🏻
Is that orange trees in the background there at your new place? I glad you got everything moved, moving is always a horrible job. I The foodie TV you new chanel you were talking about Thanks
Yes they are! Good eye. Thank you for the support!
Wow. What a job to move them. Much blessings on your new place 🦋
Thank you!
Congrats!!, do you think its a good idea to wrap dragon fruit the way you did during winter?
Thank you! I haven't tried it, but it might not be because it could potentially hold too much moister and cause rotting.
Congrad
Thank you!
My fiend wat plant caddy did u use were did u purchase it?
Just used a standard moving dolly found at home depot
Question if you lived in Vegas like I do, it gets to 110F+. How would you protect it from the heat, the dragon fruits.
Shade cloth. 30-40% and mist it at night when flowers aren't opening. I don't live in Vegas but my setup is similar to the nursery at home depot... my shade cloth is about 8-10ft above ground... covering most of my yard.
Thanks for chiming in!
How many dragonfruit pots did you move?
I moved a total of 22 establish dragon fruit plants!
Richard, you should let me know, and I could give you a hand
Thank you for offering :)
Just got a Worth Lime Richard, is there any information you might have on this variety?
I haven't encountered that one just yet. You'll have to keep us updated!
Hi Rechard can I have some asuga branch please thank you so much .
How many years after seed germination will pitahaya bear fruit?
It can take 3-5 years for a seedling to bear fruit. If you want it to be faster I recommend grafting the seedling.
Honestly, i would have just bought a hydraulic table cart for less than 300 bucks from harbor freight. It can get it off 2ft off the ground. So all the tops of the df wouldn't be pushed in too much.
Now that I know the viewers would like to see all my process bad or good. Ill definitely consider making more content about that. Thanks!
Do you still have fox farms in your older pots????
Yes, all my older pots have fox farm. I’m currently making the change Gary’s best top soil. It has more sand in their blend so it drains better. I’ll be testing this new potting soil out this season.
@@GraftingDragonFruitHi Richard, been followed you since started. I’m planning to use Gary’s top soil as well. Do you use 100% of Gary’s top soil or kind of mix with something? Thanks
I plan to add about 20% of Fox farm into Gary’s top soil to incorporate the organic fertilizer into the mix’s. That way the dragons have readily nutrients to feed right away.
With Gary’s top soil make sure to add your organic fertilizer to the top of soil.
@@GraftingDragonFruit thank you! So mix 20% of foxfarm then add organic fertilizer like VermisTerra Earthworm Castings - Organic?
That is correct! Gary’s top soil tends to dry out daily so adding 20% fox farm should keep moisture in enough to not dry out everyday and enough to drain on winter rainy days.

So quick!
What’s the current soil mix you use ?
My current soil mixture in my pots are all fox farm ocean forest. But this year, I’m making the switch to a mineral based soil. All the dragons will be moving to new soil medium called. Gary’s best top soil.
@@GraftingDragonFruit Thank you for providing information.🫡 I have a few ocamponis that I imported from Mexico (wild no ids). One has bigger thorns than el grullo, and the other 2 variety’s have medium thorns and the other has tiny thorns that are barley visible with its unique traits. The fruit from those no ids are actually tasty and sweet
Wow that’s so cool! Finding wild native dragon fruit is always fun and even better when they taste good!
@@GraftingDragonFruit one of the buds were broken into WAYYY before it was bloom time and it still managed to turn into a fruit. The dark green small thorned ones love crawling onto rocks also trees, but they grow in cool areas by rivers on rocks usually. They have round and nice looking wild fruit. The extremely thorny DF that grows in drier areas by mountains, have skinny longish fruit (they share the same traits as el grullo and el grullo Jalisco, is 3 hours away) I just started with my DF growing journey and locally someone sells trellises that are very well made for $30 and 25 gal pots at my local nursery are $8 local construction sites by my area don’t give the scrap 2x4 and rather throw it away at landfills 🥲
You’re on your way to become a dragon fruit addict just like me. Welcome to the club 😆
Patrick! 😆
My best friend and biggest supporter! 😁
And congrats Richard!
Thank you Daisy!!!
How can i get cuttings from you? Thanks.
Goal is to have some available on my website later this winter.
Thanks Richard.
I moved 9 hours away about 2 years ago and my dragon fruit was about the same as the last one you packed in and it fell over 😢
oh no! Hope you were able to grow some new ones
what is the average weight? I think 225 lbs
I would say you’re pretty spot on. Around 200-250lbs per plant!
Give me some new hybrid dragon seedling
Try asking the FB group
pls dont do the thing that epic gardens does where he pops out of random spots. It looks really awkward in his video production when you seem him squatting then stand up into the frame of the camera. Is it suppose to add some aesthetic video production? I t really annoys me when I see him jump or stand into the frame of the picture. Plsssssssss dont be like him,,,,you are so much cooler
haha thanks for the feedback. Just trying different things with the new content coming out
Why is the weird guy wearing a mask outside?
There was a lot of dust from moving.
