You always need a hand free for tracing your runes so that you can do your best impression of "Dormamu, I've come to bargain!" 53:48 Oh, please, let it work with Disturbing Knowledge too. Demoralize is awesome, but what are the chances you can afford decent charisma in an intelligence based class. DK should be on point, it too involves uttering weird words and creepy chanting.
Before I watch : Please let this be what I need to make Annatar After I wacthed : Oh. This was no where near what i thought it was going to be. Love the theme! I can easily see a Bard/Runesmith multi-class with linguist archetype and ritualist thrown in there~ Unfortunately, still no way to make an Annatar build. Welp, back to stalking your discord~~
@@hellfrozenphoenix13 Annatar, Lord of Gifts It was the form used by Sauron to deceive the Elves and walk among them. In this time helped create the 16 Rings of Power, 9 for Men and 7 for Dwarves. Celebrimbor made the 3 for Elves after Annatar left, but used his techniques. Annatar then made The 1, which then in turn revealed himself to the world that he was Sauron, The Dark Lord.
Great channel, bro. I play ttrpg since 94 more or less, and pf2 is my favorite at the momment. But I have some games dear to my heart, like ars magika, golden age white-wolf titles and ad&d. Good job! Keep this channel alive.
I started in '92 as well! And my favorites then were Vamp/Mage/Werewolf, AD&D, and Marvel. It's hard to explain to my children now that AD&D was great because we didn't have systems like PF2e to compare it to. But they are learning to play with a truly elegant system. Pffftoo is the jam.
I have a very different, complicated relationship with words but have come to the exact same place regarding the Runesmith. I'm autistic and find it difficult to convert my thoughts and intentions into conventional language--especially in a concise manner. My style of communication often involves a lot of "back-filling," where I explain the context and inter-relations for the topic I'm discussing. This is because concepts, "things," and ideas are very rarely isolated in my thought processes and instead composed of numerous interconnections and details. Compressing that into words is...complicated, meaning I've had to more intensely develop language skills so to not be incomprehensible. The Runesmith deeply appeals to me not because of a love of words but because each of the runes encompasses all aspects of the concept they embody--just as my thought processes work. The runes are the full-concept thought communication I always wanted. I could see my kind of Runesmith character not immersing themself in language for an appreciation of language but in academic study to better understand all of the aspects covered by their runes. For example, to better understand and appreciate the interlinking of concepts and details Ranshu embodies they would read Alkenstar studies of electricity, magical treatise on the finer points of the lightning bolt and hypothetical permutations that could be implemented, fulgurite collectors' zines, and the literary symbolism of lightning and thunder in the Osirion literary canon among other topics in pursuit of greater understanding.
I like your ideas for Runesmith and I can see that conceptualizing coming into play when you're playing that character. I like the idea of making the sigils that way. You have an interesting way of thinking about words and Concepts.
The holtrik rune of dwarven ramparts, that is Huge! A +1 circumstance to AC! It doesn't get stomped on by other protection that grant a status bonus! Most shield bearers only have *ONE* reaction, the invoked rune may be the difference between life and death!
Thanks for the video. I think runesmith is a way better designed class than necromancer (I still hate thralls) and seem to be incredible fun. The only thing missing should be a way to permanently engrave runes on to something (even if just for the passive effect), because the idea of finding old relics with runes seem way too cool to miss out.
@@Cladiot I'm totally behind you on this. I think there's design space available for the runesmith to make unique kinds of glyphs that are permanent or that can be refreshed everyday for certain effects.
@@WisdomCheck Agreed. They could even put a rule that ''normal'' runes can't interact in permanent magical items since it's most for rp purposes. I just want cool things, not necessarily optimized things.
There are classes that do not cast spells to do amazing things. The alchemists, ki mage monks, snare crafters, Champions, gadget crafters, inventors, commanders, Marshall archetype, more!
You can pick up the sigil cantrip a dozen ways for almost every ancestry! The invokation of the aiudara rune is suddenly much more useful. Rally point! Recall friend to safe place! @@comerja31 yeah I agree with you. I think there is room to add another mechanic here as well. Something to make a unique kind of glyph or Rune that does certain kind of thing like changes Earth around them like they can choose a specific element or something
Another possible idea for a mechanic is a Rune that acts as a base effect and a bunch of smaller Rune effects that then alter it somehow. Kinda like using a "meta magic" effect, but meant to be more open ended to rely on eachother.
@@hellfrozenphoenix13 Certainly, that's what the Diacritc runes do, but there are only four, and one is only good against a Holy creature... so we need a lot more in general.
@comerja31 yeah, I think the Diatric runes are a good core concept. I say make all the situational runes tied to one that can select what kind of creature it's good against. Could make it feel a bit better

Wouldn't mind if there a video about answering the playtest after it is done.
Ok cool. I'll work on it.
Man, I can not stay fussy with some one who cares for their pets like you do.

I can agree the runesmith should also utilize true names!

My son has a problem with R's as well and favorite ttrpg is PF2. The ttrpg are therapeutic; they let us play the best versions of ourselves.

totally.
The rovan rune doesn't have the incapacity trait! Holy!
Dance of bloody ink is just a better god breaker (which is definitely a trap feat) coz lower level and no map 😹

How does "Return unto runes" interact with "Henge Gate" can you trace the spell on 'every' ranged attack for minute?
