Cartago is an interesting name for a town just south of San Jose. Cartago - Carthage. My thoughts immediately focus upon Phoenicians when I come across an etymological connection like this. I am glad you are doing the Central American countries now. Your West African countries were very helpful in helping me to conceptualize in my mind this region of Africa I did not understand well at all. The same goes for the Central American countries. So Thank You for these explorations.
@@ASMRGeographica Cartago is not on the coast which would associate better with a maritime based people like the Phoenicians. But the etymology is a strong one making me think there is some kind of a connection there.
@@charliesoto3376 Absolutely. Etymology gets to the very root of the origin of the word. When it comes to place names it reveals the very root origin of the place.

Atenas/Athens Grecia/ Greece
