Heyy, well im not a coach ahahahah BUT if you are already an intermediate, you could go for hard rubber + soft blade combo since it has a good spin kick, hence you would have good control and speed too. safest option imo. and you could also go for medium blade + hard rubber since its been a year haahhaha. I am aware i might not help anymore because you might already have the perfect equipment for you but i just want to share my opinion hehe
@@tansrikeebs3533 Hi buddy, thanks for the great info. I went for a Viscaria 90 gams blade, with Tenergy 05 hard for forehand and Tenergy 05 FX backhand. I've been using it now for a year and I like it a lot. a bit fast but getting the hang of it.

EmRatThich, didn't you say that chinese players use customed equipment, and only play with soft bats and hard rubbers?? In this video, it seems to me that Zhang Jike uses a fast bat with quite soft rubbers. Am I wrong?

Hello, coach, I have a donic baracuda rubber and a primo rac blade. My coach says my paddle is for choppers. is she right?

The Donic Baracuda and the Primorac blade are both attack blades. The thing is that the blade allows the ball to stay on the paddle for a longer time, creating more spin. The Baracuda is also an attack rubber, but it is a bit slow.

That's why I never bought it, got something slower instead
that's why emratthich tells us to use ALL blade plus hard rubber.

Viscaria is too much for any intermediate player as most of us
I'm an intermediate player using the Viscaria right now and I can only partly agree. Especially people in TTD forums tend to excessively exaggerate when it comes to stiffer blades for intermediate players. They act as if you immediately ruin your whole technique, that you will make no or only a little progress and then ultimately fail as a table tennis player, no matter what. And I think that's BS.
However, I agree that the Viscaria is a very stiff blade, and it is most definitely not optimal for an "intermediate" player (what does that even mean?) like me. But given you have a little natural feeling for the ball, you can definitely use it without eventually fucking up your whole technique. It just takes some time to get used to it.
torch777 if you can't train more than 5h a week, there's no room to improve, so Viscaria will be really difficult to control , specially on short game and passive game such as receives or blocks since is quite bouncy.
If you play for leisure or Better to stick with something more flexible slower&more woody feeling.
It's curious/funny to know what pros are they using but completely useless, since we haven't got full time dedication, same age, fitted condition or as talented like them.
I definitely agree, it is difficult to control and definitely not the ideal choice for intermediate players.
As a person who practices around 8-10 hours a week it has been okay though (I've been playing the blade for around one and a half year by now). My experience wasn't nearly as bad as many people would think.
Not really everyone is different. I changed from off- to primorac carbon and it’s much easier for me because I can focus on the brushing side, using all wood the topspin would put the ball to the net because the loop would have wrong speed/spin ratio. For someone with more arc it might not be problematic, but someone using low throw angle and good brush then fast blade actually improve control.

it's only Zhang Jike, no one uses the same in the national team. Atleast the well known ones
the young generation at least, zhou yu, wang chuqin, lin gaoyuan, liang jinkung, etc. Viscaria blade, a blue sponge rubber on fh and orange one on bh. It looks zhang jike racket
In theyre forehand they all use dhs hurricane, in the backhand i seen from tenergy , h3 tensor sponge maybe.. and rakza x from fang bo . It seems in high level in china they use more the viscaria and the hurricane long 5 for shakehand play .

90% technique & training. 10% equipment. Put the practice in, and your table tennis will improve far more than just changing equipment. Just because the pros use it, does not mean it is suitable for everyone, since it will require a lot of time and dedication to use properly
just $80 setup you will be able to play like a pros.
