Apart from satisfaction, what the hell do you gain from posting the same copied comment over and over again. This comment has been seen on most undertale vids. I mean, couldn’t you have at least posted something about the orchestration?
This is the only version opf Heartache I've found that really brings forwards the 'epicness' of the song but also the emotion that comes with it which is something all the other orchestral versions of this song struggle to do so thank you :D
Personally, I think it's very important that someone actually attacks goat mom on their first go. Think about it, she's the only enemy up until that point that seemed unsparable normally. So, you'd assume it's that normal trope about this whole "prove you're worthy" fight, that doesn't really mean anything. But then, the game actually teaches you consequences, and flowey will mock you for killing her, remarking that you couldn't go back to prevent it. But when you can, and you go back, it shows where Undertale really shines. Not only is the game self aware that you went back, but it also acts as though you're actually there, correcting a mistake. "...Why are you looking at me like that? Like you've seen a ghost? Is there something you know that I do not? No, that's impossible." This is what makes Undertale great in my opinion. Not the pacifist approach, but the fact that you can go back to fix everything, and truly make the happy ending. Undertale isn't just about pacifism you know. It's about discarding what you know about traditional RPG's. That there isn't any needless grinding. But the game has to teach you to break this habit. Technically, fighting her isn't the wrong choice. As a matter of fact, I think it's the most important part. It's the fact that you're able to learn from what happened before, and prevent it. You can go back at any time to change fate. The game references this so much, that unless you straight up cheesed it and went in a non blind run, you wouldn't get that part of the game. Attacking monsters is an important part of the game's message. Even if it's to get you to stop attacking monsters.
First orchestral cover that makes it sound exactly as elegant yet powerful as I'd imagined it would. Many covers don't make it sound like a battle theme anymore, rather more of a peaceful track. tl;dr: Pretty moist stuff here, kid.
ShoopDaWoosh I don’t like how other tracks just have string and woodwind and call it orchestral. Brass plays a role in this piece as well to create a heavier tone in parts of it
So the in-game soundtrack is absolutely wonderful. If they ever make a movie it would be a crime to write a new OST. All that would be needed would be proper orchestral arrangements rather than chipbit soundtracks. They would just need to approach you for the arrangements.
Undertale is a game with a great game design which fully exploits the potential of a video game in term of interaction. No other media can transcribe what makes Undertale awesome i.e. the importance of your personnal choices. So I'm saying that an Undertale movie simply can't be done right.
Raphaël Tran The idea of choice, I agree, is huge, and what makes it so intelligent and revolutionary. Sure, taking that away from it in the form of a movie would, I agree, detract from the quality somewhat. But it does have an excellent story, and fleshed-out characters, not to mention the potential for beautiful visuals. I still think it would work as a movie, just as a very different form of media. The idea of choice could still be worked into the script. It would lack the direct personal effect but it could still be expressed.
I indeed agree that there are elements from Undertale such as the characters that are really nice and do not need the video game form to be great, but I still think that the essence would be missing in a film (I actually do not see how you could insert an idea of choice in a script). By the way, about the graphics, don't you think that "upgrading" them would break the mental image most people have of the universe? I mean, Toby Fox proved with Undertale that visuals are not necessary to create a great piece of art, but thereby, changing them would change the way players perceive this world. By example, it would be very difficult to keep the androgynous appearance of Frisk.

And I've tried to find one beautifully orchestrated, thank you for the song~ I think you've captured the 'heartache' (Quite literally, my heart is aching in pain for Toriel). It's like you're telling Toriel's side of the story, rather than the protagonists side of the story, and I find that well written. Thank you again for the beautiful music~
Certainly one of the bestest ochestrations of undertale i've heard on youtube so far! You managed to keep the spirit of the original song while adding very good ideas in it (like the Once upon a time cameo), and the end result feels just as good as the original one! Just wonderful work man!
I guess it helps to be immersed into it. If all you see Undertale as is just a video game, then it won't have much of an impact on you and the game itself sort of points that out when you do certain things in it (part of why I think it's brilliant but whatever). Though that's true with basically anything you experience whether it's reading a good book, watching a good movie, etc.

I made a Undertale battle screen themed level in smash bros brawl. I put a time of 7:00 and played Ness (frisk) and fought Peach (Toriel). I turned the volume all the way on sound and none on music and played this in the background and it flowed perfectly. When the battle ended there was still some music left. It ended at the end of the win animation. Best. Undertale. Fight. In. Brawl. Ever.
I may have found you through your Deltarune covers, but wow, it was worth going back and diving into your Undertale covers, they're something else. You have such genius artistic interpretations of these songs, turning them the most out of any Undertale orchestral covers into full blown movie scores. I feel like I'm sitting in a concert, visualizing an entire story taking place before my eyes. It wouldn't have mattered if I'd never heard of Undertale, I would still be able to feel the conflict, and pain, and heartache all flying from the music. Each separate chorus of Heartache feels different from the last, filled with more emotion, boiling over to a new degree. It's genuinely impressive how well percussion and scoring like this is done without using instruments of more African or Brazilian origin, there's a feeling of pulsing war drums to it that never goes away, even when there's flutes carrying the melody and it's just the low strings maintaining that pulse. Oh and don't even get me started on the Once Upon a Time section, it slid into the bridge so easily that I didn't even realize what was happening at first until the entire mountain hit me. Such a bittersweet moment for the piece, before diving right back into the most determined and heroic of the choruses, while Once Upon a Time maintains is message in the low brass below the melody. What a beautiful piece, and honestly I think it's now my favorite of your Undertale covers, somehow even more than Asgore, despite me much preferring that song in Undertale! I think something about the more warmer and openly furious tone of Heartache vs. the (albeit thematically fitting) more withdrawn emotional core and war-like tone of Asgore contributed to it. Heartache just feels so much more raw, you know?
Hey, +The Second Narrator, I have a couple of questions for you! First of all, how do you make your music? Do you have a sound library, and if so, which one do you use? Very intense but manages to convey a little bit of sadness. Great use of guitar and percussion. That's a 10.
If we have an Undertale movie and this is not the soundtrack I am going to be very mad because this is movie quality stuff. This is so good.
Awesome work, dude. Makes me picture an intense duel between two Spaniard knights.
I cant believe u don't have 10,000
subs by now u deverse it
This is way under-rated. My favorite of the Heartache orchestral covers.
i cant stop myself i just have to listen to this song every single day!
if i had to choose a favorite heartache orchestration, it would probably be this one because out of all of them, this one sounds the best fitting and the most mournful sound to it- i absolutely love this ;;w;;
Your Undertale songs are amazing! This orchestration is so rich and beautiful!
You know a song is good when it gives you nostalgia, not about the game, but the song itself.
This song really really, fills me with Determination, Tears And Determination
After playing in a band back in high school, I really want to say that I am rather impressed and that you are likely going to get a new Patreon supporter solely for this piece, because I think this is utterly phenomenal and I wish more musicians/composers offered downloads of their music for such things whether free or not, because I would love to be able to listen to them without the need for youtube. I played this game only recently as I decided to finally inspect after all the hype, it very easily hit my #1 game slot where Portal 2 sat forever.
So I applaud thee on this piece and hope to see more orchestral works from you. [I am sucker for good, epic sounding music.]
IM GOING TO CRY THIS IS GREAT
Noooooo
GOAT MAAAAMMAAAAAA
fantastic job dude truly great composition
I wonder how this would sound with some Pokemon sound fonts? (Maybe Ruby/Sapphire/Emerald sound fonts?)
Oh ho ho ho ho, I can wait when you get to the juicy tracks like "Your Best Nightmare" or "SAVE the World"~
*****
Yeesh, that does sound horrible
+MetalPcAngel I wouldn't even know where to begin if I were to orchestrate "Your Best Nightmare," Save the World might work though...
+The Second Narrator
Just whack random music instruments together while someone plays guitar.
+The Second Narrator dude I'd love to hear your rendition of save the world. I haven't been able to find any orchestral covers of it with the same level of quality as your covers.
easily the best orchestrated version around.
This is so beautiful, but...
y u kill goat mama ;-;
This is a super beautiful rendition
Hi! I guess I'm a bit late to the party, but I was wondering if it was possible for me to use this in an animation I might begin working on within the next month or so? It's...really beautiful. Stunning. You made an already AWESOME track even better imo. Many orchestral remakes I've seen take away from the piece but yours definitely doesn't. Great job, seriously!
sure. just credit me somewhere!
i- just- WOW. This gave me shivers it was so good
freken fantastic! this music fills me with determination!
this is beautiful.
I KNEW THIS WOULD FIT ORCHESTRAL SO MUCH
Absolutely beautiful!
HE IS TOUCHING THE GOAT MAMA
*hardcore slap sound and monsters arguing about how you should not touch the goat mama before a froggit punch the player's face*
Goddammit I'm crying at the ending of this vid. ;_;
I've already seen it but the music just makes the hurt fresh.
THIS IS THE BEST THING I HAVE EVER HEARD. You were born to do this. I really loved this. I would love to hear Waterfall, Megalovania or Spear of Justice! I'm sure you would do an amazing job with those :)
deserves more subs this is beautiful
dude i seriously got goosebumps like wtf
Having just spent a solid week playing Monster Hunter World, this is exactly the song I would want to play if Toriel was in the game.
(On a capture quest, of course. No slaying the Goat mom)
It's like watching an epic anime battle! Good job!!!!
Absolutely awesome!!! LOVE your arrangements, keep going, +suscribe right now!
I look forward to the rest of the Undertale soundtrack, The Second Narrator! I like to use your music in my D&D games and its usually quite fitting.
After 4 years, i discover this masterpiece
Toriel is the hardest boss to kill. Not because she is strong but because she is your mom. I killed her on my first playthrough because I was an idiot who didnt understand why I couldnt spare her like the froggits (who I beat within an inch of their lives to spare) or undyne and got the mettaton ending.
I felt sorrow listening to this. I can't stop thinking of toriel getting news of each child's death And her heart slowly breaking in a...Heartache hAHAHAA...bad puns. But seriously this is simply amazing I can't get over how well...Heartfelt it is.
