Such stunning country to travel in. You pair make brilliant guides and travel presenters, you should make this into a film and try it out with a few TV channels, someone is going to want to feature your take on this. Far better than anything the BBC seems to push out these days. Excellent vlog series and very satisfying to sit back and enjoy. Thank you for taking the time to produce a brilliant vlog. 👋

You will always find people who do not come into contact with to many tourists are friendly, just wondering though since this was posted two months ago Meeks have you traded Courts for some camels.😅
So we’re sitting in STUNNINGLY BEAUTIFUL Turkey watching this thinking… oh THAT looks awesome! We should definitely go… These are the problems we have… good problems to have indeed! We can’t see it all…. But we can certainly try! Also… You have settled… settled into a life that suits the two of you. From experience I can tell you that many people don’t understand that… But you two do… and that’s what impresses us!!! From old nomads to you, the younger ones… glad to see you growing and enjoying life on your own terms!!! …. Wait… that means we’re not the newest nomads… Awesome video you two! Awesome!
Hahaha this comment really made us smile! No need to rename your socials so long as you're still young at heart ;) we're all new nomads everyday when new experiences come our way (wasn't that poetic!) Would hihgly recommend Tunisia as a next stop destination from Turkiye. It's a lot more raw and less developed but the landscapes are incredible and the people so friendly. Once you get over the culture shock and adapt in the first couple of weeks, embracing it all is so rewarding!
Another great video. The drone footage is the best i’ve seen. You guys are killing it 💪 Btw, Nice hair cut mate 👍 Just to add few things regarding the Amazigh. Imazighen are all over North Africa. We call it Tamazgha. So you have Imazighen in Siwa Oasis in Western Egypt ( Around 30 thousands ) • Libya • Tunisia • Algeria • Morocco • Mauritania • Canary Islands • Mali • Niger • Northern Burkina Faso About the numbers of Imazighen ( Berber ) in Tunisia is more then 2000 I would say Millions 💪 The government estimates the numbers of Amazigh speakers ( Tamazigh language, Tifinagh ) To be around 120 thousands or 1% of the populations. But other organisations put the numbers to over 1 Millions which is 10% of the Populations ( Le lowest in North Africa ) Bare in mind you might have noticed that in Tunisia we speak Tunisian Derja ( Arabic and broken Arabic words, Latin, Italian, Spanish, And thousands of Amazigh words ( 5000 ) The vast majority of Tunisia and North Africans had what we call it the Arabisation of the populations ( Due to the religions ☪️ ) The Koran is written in Arabic, The prophet comes from An Arab tribe, If i’m not mistaken. ( People can correct me on this one ) You’re more likely to meet Amazigh in the South. This is where the highest number are : • Djerba Island ( Ajim, Guellala, Sedouichk. Gabes : • Matmata • Tamazret ( There is an berber museum worth the visit ) • Toudjane • Taoujout. Tataouine : Or Tittawin ( In Tamazight language ) • Guermassa. • Ghomrassen ( My home town ) 😉 • Chenini. Gafsa : • Sened. • Guettar 100% You’ll find Amazigh speakers on all of those places. You head up North to Sousse : • Takrouna ( Worth visit ) A berber village build on top of a rock. There is restaurant on the village and you get 360 degrees views. Siliana : • Kesra Beja : Wishtata ( Not sure about the spelling ) • Toukabeur. • Chawash Both near Medjez El Bab I agree with you. Tunisian governments should look after it’s Archeological sites But when you have over 40 Thousands of them across the country plus the economic crisis in the county it becomes a problem. Well, You want to meet a berber then !! You’ve just met one😉 Enjoy Tunisia ( You’ll be safe and people will look after you ) This is your home now. ❤️🇹🇳🇬🇧❤️
Wow thank you so much for all these recommendations. We have lots of them on our list already and we saw many of them (our videos are just a few weeks behind upload compared to reality). 40,000 archeology sites?! wow!! Thank you so much for your kindness and welcoming us to our new home :)
Do you know (from a prospective of a Tunisian) what's the best part about these kind of isolated villages ? - The freshest air you can ever breath (very few cars passing by that area and no industries are there) - The people there are so spontanious and so peaceful - The food sounds a waaay more delicious than the city's food, Hens there simply eat insects nothing is manifactured, fruits are organic, usually they use the olive oil from the olive trees that they own, everything feels 100% natural and maybe that's why they live longer than the citizens living in the cities Since you're still in Tatatouine, you should try a kind of sweets called "Garn Ghzel" or also "Mahchee Tataouine", it is the same basically, but really deserves a try
Hey Rzigui! You are so right about the nature and the fresh air. The silence also was so incredible. We've never been so close to towns and villages but hear nothing at all. We aren't in the south anymore unfortunately as our videos are a few weeks behind reality but we will definitely try to get some local sweets next time ( we will be back to Tunisia and the south someday!)
We've been pretty lucky with the weather and had high teens most days and then getting down to lows of 5 or something at night in the south but in the north it can get down to freezing temperatures where it snows!
Thank you for the beautiful views and sites of history guys ...l would love to do what you do but for health n age reason can't ...so it is so precious to be able to see place with you both is so super special so thank you 🧡🫖🤠🐨🦎🦘🌟 love the chanel 💕🙏💕 be safe be free be happy and be kind 🧡🧡🧡⭐⭐⭐
Ah thank you Linda for your beautiful comment as always! It makes us so happy to hear that you get to experience places through us, this is a big part of why we do what we do and go where we go! You've made our day with this one! Thank you ❤
YES Allan! It is a fantastic place and we think people should come! It is a bit of a culture shock but once you get used to it, it is SO worth it! Hope you are doing well?
Hi Courts Meeks, what a unusual place it looks abandoned is it not seen many people as yet that is the old storage building look like it’s all made of sand ,I guess at the price you are paying for diesel must make you feel very Rich people well I was told you was lol joking lol yes you are right it is so cheap it makes your money go further as well do you have any problems with the diesel you buy is it good quality? Ok you lucky pear of buggy’s till next time take care and keep yourself safe please great and interesting blog ,John 😅🌹🇬🇧🤔👀🤩😹😜🤫🫣🫢😉😴😌😗😙🤭😚
Isn't it so cool John how the whole Ksar storage looked like sand! Absolutely incredible place. It is extremely cheap here as you saw in the video and obviously that's good for us but it also means the local economy is on its arse, which is sad for residents. The deisel we have been buying is from the major petrol stations still so haven't had any issues with the van yet (touch wood!) but we definitely will give her a few fill ups of premium deisel when we next get the chance. They have normal deisel and then a 'without suflur' option so when it's available, that's what we're putting in. Thanks for always being a huge supporter John! Take care until next week :) x
Great video there s a lot to explore in south tunisia tatouine is only 1 town of many southern cities and it s bigger than belguim it s the siz of cyprus jamaica portorico and lebanon all combined together some travel agengies or hotels from north or coast organiz some safari trips to the south by 4×4 suvs or touristics buses they know better the places to visit like oasis , resorts , camping in middle of sahara bazars to buy traditional gifts or good restaurants or cafes ...and they often visit 1st star wars movie location it should be somwhere close to you there
Thank you for your comment, really insightful and good to know. We've got a few more videos coming out in the next few weeks about some of these places. Tatouine is massive, we've driven across a lot of it and seen so much behind the camera. it is hard to film every moment but hopefully you'll like the ones we choose to include in the videos
I Hope you gave the local tour guide some money. I don't know if he asked for it or he did not sometimes they even don't neither ask nor take it if you offer. But being a tour guide is his job. Although the majority of them are heartfelt and passionate about their region. They are welcoming and generous to share the history and culture of the region with tourists and foreigners. But at the end of the day, being a guide is his job.
We are loving our time here! It is beautiful and the people are SO kind and welcoming! We hope it comes across in our videos and that they make more people want to come and visit here in their campervans!
Hello there! Poland is on our list for the future to explore! It seems like such an unexplored place for vanlife. Would love to know if you have recommendations or tips for us about wild camping or places to visit!
@@courtsandmeeks Poland has a lot to offer. We especially recommend our region of Lower Silesia and our beloved Bieszczady Mountain. On our channel you will find a playlist from Poland with only wild places that we visited with our motorhome.
Our pleasure! We have had such a wonderful time in Tunisia so far. We only posted 1 month of videos so far but we have been in the country for 2 months, and 1 more left so we will hopefully have videos from all over the country by the time we leave.
Ha yeah we've been keeping a close eye on any donkeys and so far we've not had any trouble! Most are working donkeys so are either loaded up with people and things or tied to a tree so can't walk out in front of us!!
@@moneemmnasri9911yes we visited Sbeitla last week! It was beautiful and we ate Brik from the shop across the road! It was the best we had in Tunisia so far. We posted a short video on our channel of us trying the Brik
@@courtsandmeeks woow soo amazing ..Really.. I thank you very much. Tunisia is in need of tourism, and you have contributed beautifully..In the nineties. The most North African country is Tunisia... and the state of Morocco used to learn tourism and cooking in Tunisia.. I thank you again
like you said you can travel to see our civilization but we can't... And the country economic is very bad actually and we need more tourist to come and visit us
Yes we understand the situation and hope that our videos can help a little by showing people it is a beautiful place to come and enjoy! We hope the economic situation improves for you ❤
Everything is so cheap because it is very, VERY heavily subsidized by the government, for the overall poor population( or at least it was supposed to be). it is heavily subsidized by Tunisian tax payers. Things are not just magically cheaper. and please don't take this personally this is in No way your fault and I absolutely love what you guys do and watch all your videos. but Richer Tunisians and tourists should not be paying the subsidized price, period. BTW even with real prices it would be cheaper than UK for example a baguette would be 1.5 dinar instead 0.2 dinar that it is now. Real price is stil like the fourth of the price in your home but at least somewhat reasonable...it is those same poor people paying for that subsidy btw and we all see the result = Injustice, Poor Government that cant afford to pick up F'ing trash or take care if it national treasures like those berber buildings....etc
I want to take the time to thank you for writing such a insightful and balanced comment. We really appreciate you taking the time to do so and to educate us on the issues you face and your views on it. We don't take offence and we welcome comments like this as it is always better when people learn things like this. Again, thank you and I hope that the situation improves for the Tunisian people, we've been blown away by the kindness and beauty of the people and places we've been to!
The video is great and your adventures are amazing but please get facts right when it comes to history because you have an audience, real good informations are really not hard to find. Keep up the great work , bon voyage !
Sorry, we do our best with info we found online. It's quite difficult when none of the signage at historical sites is in English so we are translating and using Google. I appreciate every piece of info online isn't always correct so maybe we got something wrong in this one about the number of Berber people?
@@courtsandmeeks thank you for your response and please do understand that I appreciate a lot your content . Yes it’s about the Berber people , you can find great English content on TH-cam about history about Tunisia and the Berber people.
Ha yeah we saw that on another vlog. We would love to go to Libya one day but right now getting a visa is very tough and then to try and take our van there would probably be impossible!
just to correct something guys , tunisian 85 % of them are Berber as a race ( imizighen) but they speak Arabic ( or tunisian dialect ) and that's cause of history . the rest are mixed European and Arabs
Thank you, I got that number from a TH-cam Channel called Geography Now on their Tunisia episode (a really good watch if you're interested). I think they were referring to official government numbers of people who identify as Berber but I could be wrong. Thank you for taking the time to comment and teach us this.
@@courtsandmeeks yes thats why i said as race tunisian are berber but they don't speak berber i mean now tunisian speak Arabic ( tunisian dialect ) and they said they are arabs etc.. but as a race they are berber not arabs its a complicated story ...
Just to clarify some things, there's more than a few thousands people that are from berber descent in Tunisia. Most people are a mixture of a lot of things just like English people are a mixture of celts, romans, anglo-saxons ... So tunisians are mainly berber, punic, latin, arabic ... By the way, that mosque was originally a church, and the seven dormants who are supposedly there are the same seven dormants of ephesus celebrated in a lot of Christian countries.
Thanks for the information, we really appreciate your input! When I meant there was 2k berber people, I was taking it from the channel GeographyNow, who give information on a country (the Tunisia episode is really good) and I think they meant that number is official from the government of who identify fully as Berber. But thank you for the info on the make up of the people, it is really good to learn from you. I hope you are well?
@@courtsandmeeks The vast majority of Tunisians are genetically Berbers but they all think they are Arabs when they don't think they are Phoenicians, they believe that this increases their chances of going to heaven. And they look down on the Berber Tunisians who have kept the language and tradition of their ancestors because they are peasants and therefore poor and the poor must necessarily be crushed.
I don't think that was the vibe we were really going for.... We did say we understand our fortunate position being from the UK and it isn't lost on us how the country is performing economically. We hope and want it to improve but us commenting on the situation isn't really giving that vibe. Thanks for commenting though!

Thank you for the lovely comment! Yeah the prices are crazy, not good for the local people and we totally realise that but it is a hidden benefit for us visiting the country. Thanks for coming along on the adventure!
We should definitely go…
These are the problems we have… good problems to have indeed!
…. Wait… that means we’re not the newest nomads…
Awesome video you two!
Welcom to my country tunisia 🇹🇳
Thank you! We're absolutely loving the people and places here!
Absolutely amazing.
Thank you Graham! Hopefully see you on the next one?
brilliant guys, stunning .
Thank you for the lovely comment! Hope you're doing well!
you're such an awesome souls 🙏🍓
Oh Mohamed that is such a lovely comment! Thank you, we're loving our time here!
Another great video.
The drone footage is the best i’ve seen.
You guys are killing it 💪
Btw, Nice hair cut mate 👍
Just to add few things regarding the Amazigh.
Imazighen are all over North Africa. We call it Tamazgha.
So you have Imazighen in Siwa Oasis in Western Egypt ( Around 30 thousands )
• Libya
• Tunisia
• Algeria
• Morocco
• Mauritania
• Canary Islands
• Mali
• Niger
• Northern Burkina Faso
About the numbers of Imazighen ( Berber ) in Tunisia is more then 2000
I would say Millions 💪
The government estimates the numbers of Amazigh speakers ( Tamazigh language, Tifinagh ) To be around 120 thousands or 1% of the populations.
But other organisations put the numbers to over 1 Millions which is 10% of the Populations ( Le lowest in North Africa )
Bare in mind you might have noticed that in Tunisia we speak Tunisian Derja ( Arabic and broken Arabic words, Latin, Italian, Spanish, And thousands of Amazigh words ( 5000 )
The vast majority of Tunisia and North Africans had what we call it the Arabisation of the populations ( Due to the religions ☪️ )
The Koran is written in Arabic, The prophet comes from An Arab tribe, If i’m not mistaken. ( People can correct me on this one )
You’re more likely to meet Amazigh in the South.
This is where the highest number are :
• Djerba Island ( Ajim, Guellala, Sedouichk.
Gabes :
• Matmata
• Tamazret ( There is an berber museum worth the visit )
• Toudjane
• Taoujout.
Tataouine : Or Tittawin ( In Tamazight language )
• Guermassa.
• Ghomrassen ( My home town ) 😉
• Chenini.
Gafsa :
• Sened.
• Guettar
100% You’ll find Amazigh speakers on all of those places.
You head up North to Sousse :
• Takrouna ( Worth visit )
A berber village build on top of a rock. There is restaurant on the village and you get 360 degrees views.
Siliana :
• Kesra
Beja :
Wishtata ( Not sure about the spelling )
• Toukabeur.
• Chawash
Both near Medjez El Bab
I agree with you.
Tunisian governments should look after it’s Archeological sites But when you have over 40 Thousands of them across the country plus the economic crisis in the county it becomes a problem.
Well, You want to meet a berber then !!
You’ve just met one😉
Enjoy Tunisia ( You’ll be safe and people will look after you )
This is your home now.
❤️🇹🇳🇬🇧❤️
Wow thank you so much for all these recommendations. We have lots of them on our list already and we saw many of them (our videos are just a few weeks behind upload compared to reality). 40,000 archeology sites?! wow!! Thank you so much for your kindness and welcoming us to our new home :)
WOW!!!!!!
Do you know (from a prospective of a Tunisian) what's the best part about these kind of isolated villages ?
- The freshest air you can ever breath (very few cars passing by that area and no industries are there)
- The people there are so spontanious and so peaceful
- The food sounds a waaay more delicious than the city's food, Hens there simply eat insects nothing is manifactured, fruits are organic, usually they use the olive oil from the olive trees that they own, everything feels 100% natural and maybe that's why they live longer than the citizens living in the cities
Since you're still in Tatatouine, you should try a kind of sweets called "Garn Ghzel" or also "Mahchee Tataouine", it is the same basically, but really deserves a try
@@courtsandmeeks Glad you enjoyed it, keep these videos coming ❤️
Beautiful place ,love the camels .Australia has roughly one million wild camels roaming around. Thanks for the video😍
Wow that is a lot of camels! Maybe one day we can get there!
One word, WOW!!!!!!!!!!
Ah Peter you are too kind! Thank you! We're so glad you're enjoying this adventure! Hopefully we'll see you on the next one?
You should go to sousse in tunisia
Thank you for the tip!
welcome to tunisia, enjoy and have fun 😍
Thank you!! We're having a great time and falling in love with the country!
How hot/cold does it get that time of year?
We've been pretty lucky with the weather and had high teens most days and then getting down to lows of 5 or something at night in the south but in the north it can get down to freezing temperatures where it snows!
Thank you for the beautiful views and sites of history guys ...l would love to do what you do but for health n age reason can't ...so it is so precious to be able to see place with you both is so super special so thank you 🧡🫖🤠🐨🦎🦘🌟 love the chanel 💕🙏💕 be safe be free be happy and be kind 🧡🧡🧡⭐⭐⭐

Thank you! We think it is such a beautiful country!
Great video there s a lot to explore in south tunisia tatouine is only 1 town of many southern cities and it s bigger than belguim it s the siz of cyprus jamaica portorico and lebanon all combined together
some travel agengies or hotels from north or coast organiz some safari trips to the south by 4×4 suvs or touristics buses they know better the places to visit like oasis , resorts , camping in middle of sahara bazars to buy traditional gifts or good restaurants or cafes ...and they often visit 1st star wars movie location it should be somwhere close to you there
Tataouine the size of Belgium? you need to measure again.
@@NAaPALM51 check it out on goole
tatouine is 38.889 km 2
Belguim is 30.688 km 2
Tatouine is biger than belguim
Thank you for your comment, really insightful and good to know. We've got a few more videos coming out in the next few weeks about some of these places. Tatouine is massive, we've driven across a lot of it and seen so much behind the camera. it is hard to film every moment but hopefully you'll like the ones we choose to include in the videos

Thank you! We love it here ❤🇹🇳
I Hope you gave the local tour guide some money.
Hey! Yes of course we paid him for his time and for sharing his knowledge with us. We also have a donation to the mosque :)
if you would like to meet amazigh go to guellala in djerba
Thanks for the tip!
Hope you love our country 🇹🇳❤️
We are loving our time here! It is beautiful and the people are SO kind and welcoming! We hope it comes across in our videos and that they make more people want to come and visit here in their campervans!
greetings from Poland 🚐👍
Hello there! Poland is on our list for the future to explore! It seems like such an unexplored place for vanlife. Would love to know if you have recommendations or tips for us about wild camping or places to visit!
@@courtsandmeeks Poland has a lot to offer. We especially recommend our region of Lower Silesia and our beloved Bieszczady Mountain. On our channel you will find a playlist from Poland with only wild places that we visited with our motorhome.
Nice video 😉
Thanks 😁
Great Video, Thanks for visiting and promoting our country.. 🤩
Our pleasure! We have had such a wonderful time in Tunisia so far. We only posted 1 month of videos so far but we have been in the country for 2 months, and 1 more left so we will hopefully have videos from all over the country by the time we leave.
You know its remote when they pull out the drone
I'm surprised the drone was not confiscated by the customs. Lucky.
We hid the drone on entry but customs didn't even do a check of our van. They only looked in through the door and said it was very nice 👍
@@courtsandmeeks Lucky for us we get cool drone shots
🖤
see people loading up their donkeys - I thought you'd want to keep clear of donkeys
Ha yeah we've been keeping a close eye on any donkeys and so far we've not had any trouble! Most are working donkeys so are either loaded up with people and things or tied to a tree so can't walk out in front of us!!

@@MimittaM They're just peaceful tourists don't mix them with governments

A full tank of gas 60L is around 1.5£ in Libya 😂which is really close to your location if you think Tunisia is cheap look at Libya😂
Ha yeah we saw that on another vlog. We would love to go to Libya one day but right now getting a visa is very tough and then to try and take our van there would probably be impossible!
@@courtsandmeeks Well if you ever go don't go alone Libya is not the same as Tunisia, they have a lot of guns. Stay safe
just to correct something guys , tunisian 85 % of them are Berber as a race ( imizighen) but they speak Arabic ( or tunisian dialect ) and that's cause of history . the rest are mixed European and Arabs
versa
"this place's economy is so screwed that everything is cheap , I LOVE IT !! " 🥱
I don't think that was the vibe we were really going for.... We did say we understand our fortunate position being from the UK and it isn't lost on us how the country is performing economically. We hope and want it to improve but us commenting on the situation isn't really giving that vibe. Thanks for commenting though!
