Possibly a frozen nosegear. Sometimes a deliberate hard landing, with no initial intention to land full-stop shakes the nosegear loose. And a bit of prayer never hurt, either. I wager there were some tears of relief when that nosegear came down, much to the surprise of everyone. Bless the crew for keeping their wits about them. Professionals indeed! Be proud, my Countrymen! Sincerely ... Walter Garbotz, Cambridge, Ontario, Canada
For those that don't know what happened, this is the second time that happens to the same aircraft, the front wheel didnt deploy when landing, thats why the pilot did a kick and go, trying to make the gravity unlock the wheel, which at the end luckly was deployed
And yeah I never doubted the credibility of the video. I heard about it on CBC's The National yesterday. Hadn't seen the video yet and noticed this on trending. :)
@walgar2 The gear was not frozen. It's the nose wheel's gravel kit that got stock in the doors(wich were open since the beginning). It was the same thing that happen to C-FURG. And please people, STOP CALLING IT FAKE!!!!!
@aaronspoon From Edmonton myself. I'm glad that those people are alright. It certainly would have been stressful in that situation. Coming from someone whose had to emergency land in Sydney Australia, I know what it's like coming down seeing those fire trucks and whatnot. It's extremely scary. Good on the Québécoise pilots! -Mike (also a proud Canadian) Edmonton, AB, Canada
@AppleTechHelper The front landing gear wasn't opening on the first try, and even on the second try, you can see that the front landing gear wasn't opening for a few seconds even after the rear landing years touched down.
@genbrien Thanks for the comment genbrien! Unfortunately, the snow bank was in the wrong place at the wrong time of the clip and some people questioned the credibility of the video.
@77cambria Good question my friend. The manufacturer of the aircraft is Bombardier but for the landing gear, maybe another TH-camr can answer this question for us!
This is for PIMPO911, This was a real event, look here on youtube of the pilot talking to the control tower, From your ignorant and rude response, you must be an American. The conversation between the pilot and control tower is in French, I am willing to bet that you can't understand one word of French, oh well, that's what happens when you don't finish secondary high school. (This is in response to your comment about the French.)
I have seen dozens of nose-wheel up landings on small and large aircraft and nobody has ever had a scratch. It is not such a big deal. Usually the airplane is back flying shortly after.
@realfkinhero the FRONT WHEEL pickle head. Go to 1:42 - he lands the plane, balances it on two wheels WITHOUT a wheel under the nose. If it never came down (see 1:53) he would have skidded the plane along on the nose. Thankfully this guy has mad skills and kept it balanced on two wheels until the third could deploy.
It would have been better if a pickup truck was flying down the runway underneath the NLG and some guy in the back jumped up and pulled on the gear doors... saving the day of course...
i know that was a serious thing, but i think it wouldve been a good april fools joke from the pilots if they did this a couple days later, just saying. but yeah, glad everything went alright.
the pilot deserves a honorary medal

Wow almost like magic. The angles and obstruction this footage was caught on camera. You don't see it now you do.
For those that don't know what happened, this is the second time that happens to the same aircraft, the front wheel didnt deploy when landing, thats why the pilot did a kick and go, trying to make the gravity unlock the wheel, which at the end luckly was deployed
That's one patient pilot. Good job.
Tout fini bien au moins . Beau travail.

Heureux dénouement! Féliciation à l'équipe!
"This is your Captain speaking, everybody head to the nearest bar, because I'm buying for everyone!"
Good job for the pilot.
Thanks for your comment Aaron! I really appreciate! Take care!
And yeah I never doubted the credibility of the video. I heard about it on CBC's The National yesterday. Hadn't seen the video yet and noticed this on trending. :)
That's just unreal........what a relief that they landed safely.
@walgar2 The gear was not frozen. It's the nose wheel's gravel kit that got stock in the doors(wich were open since the beginning). It was the same thing that happen to C-FURG. And please people, STOP CALLING IT FAKE!!!!!
Ils sont des excellents pilotes! C'etait un tres bon atterissage.

Bravo à toute l'équipe ! Ouff !
It's magic after the plane got lost behind the snow band for a second the landing gear was down after.
merci for the translation.
That front landing gear is such a tease.
@Forgineers Hey thanks Mike for your great comment. I'm also a proud Canadian as yourself!
Come back anytime Mike!
Scary! Glad they made it safely!
wow that was amazing!
Wow, thank god the front landing gear cane down at the last second!
Great video, and shows why airline pilot training pays off. (My brother is a pilot for United)

Seems to be a recurring fault on these aircraft i.e. ice in the nose gear... didn't this happen a few more times before on this type of aircraft?
God bless them ! Glad they are safe ! ( :
Can someone explain what happend? Dont have time to watch it
Good job!
@playitquick Thanks my friend, i appreaciate and accept your nice compliment! Take care!

Do you still spot at yuy ?
So the pilot basically shook the nose gear loose by bouncing the aircraft down the runway on the main gear, is that what happened?
I was there , since i'm french and i live near there ! Yay
This is for PIMPO911, This was a real event, look here on youtube of the pilot talking to the control tower,

whose the landing gear manufacturer ?
@77cambria I believe it is Goodrich Landing Gear located in Oakville, Ontario.
callmemister exact, c'était un touch and go...
BRAVO
holy. thats awesome.
can someone tell me what happend not in french?
i don't understand what is so fascinating about this landing....
I have seen dozens of nose-wheel up landings on small and large aircraft and nobody has ever had a scratch. It is not such a big deal. Usually the airplane is back flying shortly after.
@walgar2 Thanks for your comment Walter.
I was expecting a plane crash since this is in the Trend's column.
A plane doing a wheelie is just as good though.
The CL600 2A12 doesn't have a bad gear rep. This is a maintenance matter.
@Sloth55Chunk what do you think they tried ????!!!

he pretty much wheelied an airplane props
@UrMotherIsWithMe the landing gear was stuck
you can't explain that, no gear going into the snow bank, and gear down after the snow bank!

"Thank God the landing gear came down..." Well, not really, to be honest. I could use a good plane crash video.
i know that was a serious thing, but i think it wouldve been a good april fools joke from the pilots if they did this a couple days later, just saying. but yeah, glad everything went alright.
