I have done this process last December, now collecting rain water in my 13,000 Liter sump and using only for drinking and cooking. If the sump is fully loaded it comes around for 4-5 months usage which is humongous
@@sheeba9394 we can use the same water for all our needs in rainy season, because there will be more rain so that the tank will keep overflowing within 2 days. So more rain more water savings

Corporation will anyway supply water during rainy season, the prob is only during summer. How will this be useful during summer then
You can have a dedicated sump for Rainwater around 30,000 ltr in which watr can be saved during Rainu season and can be used during summer season. Rain water can't be contiminated unsless it is exposed to direct sunlight. For precaution purpose monthly onece you can do disinfectant 25gm of Chlorine. Excess water form sum can be used for borewell recharge.
