Hang in there! You will make it! I think about what my parents and grandparents went thru during the Great Depression, and things don’t seem so bad. Although we have never gone thru something like this, I believe we will come thru this better people! I trust in god to get us thru this. Love your videos lots of love to you and your family!

My husband and I have both been working from home for a couple weeks now. We have a 4 yr old and 1 yr old. It's definitely a struggle girl! What has helped us is establishing a routine for the kiddos. And for me, giving myself some grace. It's ok if they watch a little extra tv or get that extra snack or there's crumbs all over. It's already hard being a mom and to add the change and stress of the times, so exhausting. Hang in there!

You are doing a great job. I can imagine you get overwhelmed. Three beautiful boys is a lot. We are doing homeschooling too. I have a 2nd grader and we have to do the schoolwork through google classroom. Although I feel like some second grade school work is very difficult to understand. There are a lot of assignments and i feel overwhelmed too. I also have a 19 month old who has tantrums. I know all us moms deserve praise and we will get through this

Hi friends! Here is a short Day in the Life video! This was the first day at home with all three kids while my husband had his first day working from home. I hope you're having a great night! I hope you're staying safe and if you can't stay home because you're essential THANK YOU so much for everything you're doing! If you find yourself homeschooling, and/or working from home, how are you handling everything?!
    xoxo

My husband and I are both working from home. We do our best to handle both girls. The big girl is more independent because shes 5 but the baby we try our best to help each other out and we make sure she takes her 10am and 2pm nap. Day by day Ale. This is uncharted territory for all of us pero puedes con esto y mas! Dia a dia.

If possible, create an office space in the house. Door is closed, dad's not "home" he's "at work." Just not in the bedroom. The bedroom is for sleeping and being a couple. If you can give Alex a workspace too, he'll benefit from the stability. Like everything right now, you have to recreate normal. Sandwiches are a super normal lunch, mamma! Can't go to chick fil a? Set up a pillow fort "jungle gym" in the living room or something similar in the backyard. Think about what we did as kids. We didn't have screens in front of our 24/7 and we couldn't always hang out with or talk to our friends, but we still loved being kids!

Ale you’re doing such a great job. Looked pretty much like a great homeschooling family to me.
I homeschooled and some days go like a homeschool magazine article while others left me like 😱 but they graduated into university and they are now 40 & 37. They both appreciated being homeschooled.
The curriculum is not as important as just having a loose schedule that can flex and getting it done over a week or a month.
Some days it all goes sideways. Don’t sweat that. All homeschoolers know about those days & we all have them!
If they are learning to read & write as well as basic arithmetic appropriate for their grade level then the rest is gravy.
The sciences and history/geography are going to work even if you just read historical novels like The Bronze Bow at bedtime and do a fun bit of kitchen science with vinegar and baking soda once a week.
There’s a lot of busy work to keep kids occupied in school so the teacher can help struggling students that you don’t have to worry about. Homeschooling usually takes less time than classrooms because of that.
Kids are little learning machines. Once they can read, they will absorb the stuff in the books they enjoy without stopping. The stuff they don’t like can be turned into games like math drills involving computer games.
My 10 & 8 year old granddaughters (also homeschooled along with their younger siblings) use Math Blaster to drill multiplication tables by shooting aliens from space.
I used to put books on tape and let mine play legos while absorbing a lot of classics.

You are doing a wonderful job and such a great mummy. I am in the uk and currently working from home, my son is travelling in New Zealand and currently had to move to a rental house (yes you still worry about them when they are 18!), I think routine is important for adults and children, albeit life has changed for us all so much now. The boys will soon understand that daddy is working, maybe have breakfast together, lunch together and family dinner? There are lots of online exercise videos for children in the uk, maybe take the boys in the garden and see if they can find anything beginning with the letters of the alphabet..a sticker chart if you can get one..and they can do little chores, get a sticker for putting away toys, singing nursery rhymes to Leo, showing Leo a book, little things, but they know they will be rewarded with a sticker..pop it on the wall and then they get a small treat..just some ideas...stay safe and we will all come out of this..it is difficult and emotion and you do get anxious about anything, a lot of my friends are experiencing this and you are not alone..take care.. louise xxx

Alex is so cute! Spilling the coffee and then looking at it for a bit until going to get the napkin to clean it up. I can't imagine any schools are going back in session this year. High School graduation was already canceled in the town where we live. My son is in college and they technically go online although he is a biology major and organic chemistry and other labs can't be done online. I'm sure it is difficult with two little ones and one in school to be home all day. I think you are doing an amazing job!! Be safe and well.

I am in Québec, and school is out until first week of May (and has been since mid-march). As of now, our government offers a site called École Ouverte where we can look for educational activities for the children, but we are not expected to home school. My oldest is 4 and in Pre-K, so I'm not really worried. His teacher sent us some PDFs with Easter related activities and other activity ideas to help him progress.
Working from home with the kids hasn't been too bad since my husband does a great job taking care of them (he is an essential worker, but is on call, so mostly at home). Most difficult is when the kids drop in from time to time, won't leave. touch everything in my home office and don't stop talking ;)

I have a two week old and my husband went back to work (at home) on Monday too. I try to ensure he doesn’t have to worry about the baby but there are times that when I need help, we’ve agreed he will help but it would have to be something big. Also if I’m napping or in the shower he will call my phone to get my attention so he doesn’t have to get up with her. It’s harder than I expected since he’s home but he’s not really there and he does need to focus on work.

I’m in Santa Fe, TX (suburb of Houston) and our school is out until May 4th as of now. My 1st grader has one assignment for each subject every day and this is provided by the teacher. We only have to turn in one or two subjects a day though. We are given a link every week to a website that has a link for each day. It’s very easy to follow and has been working well for us. My husband also works from home for about 5 years now and yeah it’s hard bc he’s there but not. His office desk is in our room now (since we had our new baby who took over his office) and we just shut the door so the kids don’t bother him. I do go in there and he comes out every now and then but not for very long. He doesn’t help with the kids while he works so it’s like he’s gone. It helps that he is behind closed doors though. If he were just set up in our dining room, that would be much more difficult I think.

Aww your son is so cute. Cleaning up the coffee spill Haha. Ok so my hubby has the guest room, that now is also his office lol. Get him a room. My husband usually works out in meetings and in an office too so this is new for us minus that once a week, he used to work from home or come super early, but the kids were in school. Lol. My kids are 11 and 16 and both are in homeschool too. They study in their rooms too. I hope this helps. My son (16), in tenth grade, with mild aspergers. He logs on daily. They give work daily, but some teacher give it weekly and they zoom only when they have questions or specific meetings or language meeting. My daughter, 11, sixth grade, logs on Monday-Friday, with 3 different teachers and they give it all weekly, but log on once or twice a week to explain stuff or have a quick meeting. Then they work all day, practically by themselves. I hope this all help and we all do have those days. Don't feel bad. I'm starting to pack. We're moving with all this caos at the end of May lol. But its exciting for us too. But from town to town in fl.

I have been working from home for a month now. Last Friday I crashed. I had not yet processed our crisis and my worry about my parents, pay cuts were coming, my new work environment made me feel isolated, the tech skills I needed to learn to enable me to work effectively were overwhelming me. So I took Monday off to evaluate how I can better manage my stress. You would think there would be no stress working from home right lol. I ended up sleeping 18 hours Friday to Sat. I was exhausted, mentally and physically. Sunday I baked. Monday I went for a drive, went to see my sister and we chatted for an hour 20 feet apart in her garden. I visited my mom, she in her balcony with a cell phone, me in the retirement homes garden below with my cell phone. It was wonderful. The drive to and from her place was only 12 miles but so relaxing. I decided my issue was homelife and worklife had become blurred and I was not getting enough exercise or fresh air. My office is in my bedroom(the rest of the house is too hot), I would get up, go get coffee and return to my bedroom. Week two I started to stay in my jammies. Week 3 I wasnt even doing my hair. So. Yesterday I started a new routine. I get up, get dressed and groomed, grab a cup of coffee and go for a drive in my neighborhood. I stopped and picked some bluebells growing along the side of the road, I paused at the waterfront and took in some fresh air. Then I went home and went to work. I did the same thing this morning only I passed my local Grocery Outlet and it was open and empty! Came home with groceries and went to work. I breezed through the day. I was hearing all this bad news but not able to SEE the world is still beautiful, spring was coming and family is near. I think im good now, knowing that my car is my little window to the world and Im not compromising my health . Im in Seattle and considered high risk even though I have been doing keto now for 2 years. I know I can do this. Your husband will too, but listen to him and what his needs are while he is working and follow them to the T. He will know what he needs to be able to successfully work from home. Good luck!

Hi! It’s so good to see you! I’m using Google Classroom for my pupils. I assign them literacy, numeracy and something interdisciplinary every day. Also using lots of online resources to reinforce. It’s not the same as having them in class with me, but we’re making it work. I’m not convinced we’ll reopen before summer, but I hope we do 🙏. I hope you are all safe and well x

Former teacher here... have you ever checked out the Khan Academy website, a very thorough website with interactive videos in all subjects for all ages? Also your school district might have a free license for BrainPop - really cute animated learning videos with great interactive activities. Hopefully some other teachers will share some other websites. Don't worry about sharing your so-called bad days - we all have them it is how we learn from them which shows our inner strength. Cheers and stay safe - be well. If you can ask your son to plan a project like maybe an obstacle course for his favourite toy car. This could include a drawing, printing his list of supplies, trials, reflection on what went well. And film it for his teacher. Just a though.
