This still works in January 2024. But I will warn you that this is a one time only deal. If it dies further along in the story, and you don’t have horse reviver on you, it’s gone for good. You can go back and replay the mission, but you can’t bond with it and take it again. I’m severely bummed about losing it too.

I just did it today(29.06.2024), it works exactly as it shows in the video but you need to feed the horse more than 8 times, i had to feed him more than +20 times till i got the bound lvl 1 (on PS5), Great video, keep up the good work👍
@@banishedknight5250 Yeah first time took me a shitload of feeds and then my dumbass didn't realize you have to feed it one single extra time to get the icon to appear. So I had to do the entire thing again and then the RDR2 Gods graced me by making the second time only take 4 :P

Works December 2023, takes alot more than 8 feedings though, also the horse may get spooked and move around, no way to stop this since you can't calm it this can be annoying. Also you can do this with any of the three horses. I also suggest waiting a little or agitating the horse between feedings to gain more bond per feeding. Also for me I had to stable it before being able to put my saddle on it. Side note: the horse keeps it's Braithwaite "B" branding, cool detail but kinda ugly in my opinion.
I beat a random encounter race and have the trinket or talisman that helps bond and I did it with 8 peppermints i think it bonded with 7 and became secondary with the icon after 8

Still works as of July 15th, 2024. Also, it did take me 10+ food to achieve level one bonding. So remember to purchase all the food possible at a stable to ensure this works.
Unfortunately, if you REPLAY the mission, it DOESN'T work... i did manage to bind wirh the horse, had extra room in the stable and no active temporary horse but when you complete the mission it's not there. Tried to save and reload after bonding and completing but still no. So get the horse before you complete the mission for the first time...
I can confirm this still works as of July 2024. Just got myself a nice turkoman :), beautiful horse. I had to feed him about 20+ times before the horse icon showed up, and I also had to brush him. Thanks for the simple video
I don’t know if it’s just me, or its always been a thing. You can strictly get the turkoman. I fed both Arabians, and not one of them would show the horse + icon, other than the turkoman. It’s my first time of many playthroughs trying to get the Arabian, and it sucks that I can’t, but I’m fine with the turkoman.
You can get the black Arabian thru a random encounter in St Denis totally free. As early as Ch 2. That's what I did. And, as the other comment stated, the white Arabian is to the left of Lake Isabella.
@@jamieowens5044 yeah, I know about the white Arabian, but these are male Arabians, and the others are female. I haven’t been lucky enough to to find that encounter, but I’ll know it when I see it. As of now, I use a silver dapple pinto, and I’m more than happy with it.

I worked for me 29/12/2024 but with several issues: - first time i couldn't have feeding horse active wheel (only weapons and items) and game pushed me to cutscene with rustler so immediately closed the game and it saved my progress hopefully backward and could start the mission all over again as a first try/attempt - horse active wheel for me wasn't active also for the next time - solution i came as close as i can with my current horse to the turkoman and i worked - had to feed him over 30 times and had 1st stage bonding but no temporary horse - i brushed him and the icon on minimap appeared - after the mission i returned to the temp horse icon i took him to the stable, saddled him and went back to the camp, on his right butt the B branding was visible - when reach the camp i hitched him up to the upgraded horse spot and he immediately turned into my bonus horse Fullbood english, i was desperate and asap as the game grinds some data to be saved i loaded the last auto save i had (2 min before this happened) = finally i got the Turkoman horse back after reloading the last save and also without the B branding on his ass This is so random and confusing, pls keep the fingers crossed he stays with me. Best horse ever, race, war, fighter and beautiful

It's much easier to go in through the stable window and get it to bonding level 1 while in there. Then complete the mission as normal, run along the beach, whistle and boom nice new horse. He's not very good though, spooky bugger. I prefer the gold one.
I couldn't ride the gold one anymore after I started riding this horse. One of my single favourites- love the coat, love the horse. I don't find him 'spooky' after he's bonded. If I had to fight with any one single horse, it would be this one.
@@TDPhinsTalkAdmin that's a placebo effect/confirmation bias. the horses factually don't have bravery stats for their breeds. it depends on the bonding and how you handle the individual situation
i did this yesterday and it worked but upon loading up my game today the horse lost the braithwaite brand on it which im bummed about but it’s whatever still an amazing horse
still working as of 30 Sep 2024. Need to feed a lot of times. Prepare at least 30-40 food before the bond will show up(PC Ver 1491.5), remembered I played 2 years back it didn't take that much. Because this time I actually try to count, I fed like 10 Oak biscuits, 5 apples, 8-9 Hay and some carrots and celeries which i think is around 10-12 of them before i get the horse bonded pop up. However, it seems a bit buggy when you have it as your main horse. If you want to replay a storyline mission, make sure you change your horse to the stable. it seems like after replay of story line the horse changes to normal Turkoman horse without the B
Works still (09/10/24) . Fed horse about 6 to 8 times, then used brush once, followed by feeding horse one more time to force temporary horse blip on map.
Also in October 2024: Couldn’t stable or saddle up the turkoman at first. Even saved and reloaded multiple times but still didn’t work. Solution: Eventually, I had to tell the Turkoman to stay outside the stable, walk into the stable by foot, take the saddle from inside the stable, leave the stable without a horse and only then was I finally able to saddle up and then also stable the horse.
A few months ago I found a mesmerising pure white, almost ethereal looking Andalusian, and even whiter than the white Arabian at Isobella. I can't remember exactly where, but it was in Roanoke Ridge somewhere between Beaver Hollow cave and Brandywine Drop waterfall, but not as far as Brandywine. As far as I can remember the river was on my left and the Andalusian was in the trees next to the river. Now this isn't the same Andalusian that's on other videos which is right by the falls, which is a lot pinker, this is pure white. I called mine Spirit but I lost it when I acquired another horse which made me over my maximum horse limit, and she vanished from my stable. I've never found this horse again since, and I've never seen any videos on it, so you should see if you can find this stunning horse.

There is no such horse coded in the game. You must have misidentified the perlino Andalusian, which does appear white in the right lighting, but is actually an off color, low saturation yellow/pinkish. Less creepy looking than Buell, but not white.
I messed up and dont have the temp horse icon, i will tell you the efficient way, i only need 6 oatcrackers and one brush, remember that if u dont see the bonding information try to brush it, if the brush icon turn out grayed out, you can approach the body and the icon will be there. Good luck
So I restarted the mission and tried another method I found but I also think I was clicking the wrong button before 🤣 I was trying to press L2 to interact but I needed to press L1 standing next to the horse. I’m able to feed it now
hopefully this helps anyone out!. i was stuck on this mission and it bugged where you leave the stable and john and javier was stuck and couldn't continue missions, i deleted version dll and used the dinput one and i kept my online weapons and other goodies i bought. i loaded the save up first without dinput and just removing version.dll and my items was gone, and when i put dinput back into the folder they was there on loading up the save also the mission worked after. i also stumbled upon this glitch and have the horse now. i called it tuco, from breaking bad! also im not sure if removing version dll has broken any off the mods i use yet. further testing is required, however my smoking mod works and basic needs. also all the weather mods seem ok so far
it didn’t work for me i fed him like 16 times and it never showed up with horse bonding level 1 even though it showed the horse care + thing and then it kicked me and ran into the rustlers and when i tried to go to it the cutscene started (infuriating)
I dont know if it's just me but when I speed up a little bit with the turkoman not even full speed in the horse player screen it says that it's agitated.
Yes! This horse is very highly strung. The least little thing agitates it, and it will stay agitated for a long time. When you're bonding a horse, if it's agitated, it won't bond as quickly. So, I always try to stay on top of that- when the horse seems agitated- soothing it. And the Turkomans seem to be agitated by almost everything out of the ordinary. However, having said that, I love this dark bay Turkoman. It is a great war horse. In combat is when it comes into its own. Fast, agile, soaks up loads of damage and makes you feel like everything is under control, which, in turn, gives you confidence, and when you are calmer, you make better shots and better split-second decisions.

@@notoriousenemym Um... I don't know. I don't think it's a bug. I think it's programmed in. The Turkoman is definitely more high strung than other horses- but it is BETTER in combat than other horses. If you want a horse with a really laid back demeanour, try a Belgian Draft Horse. All horses get agitated, but you give the Belgian a carrot or a brush and whatever it was that was bothering him is pretty much immediately forgotten. I really get along with the Belgian Draft Horse. Has low health and stamina, but it's fun to play with.

Does this interfere with accomplishing all mission objectives for a gold medal? Cause a gold without replay is more valuable to me than a horse I can get later. Just wondering! 😅 ...To be honest, I'll probably find out myself before I get a reply, since this is on my to-do list for tomorrow.
I got this horse one time, and the brand went away once I put it in the stable. But other times it didn't. So... who knows? I don't know why it would have done it once and not done it another, but it did.
14.02.2024 ps5, for me it didn't worked unfortunately, i fed the mf all i had on me and my stach was fully loaded with goodies, it showed the care+ sign every time i fed the turkoman but it never bonded with me, i freed up space at the stable, i did a save before and retried the mission several times and still didnt bonded with me 😢.. any ideas on what did i do wrong? Or they patched it by now?
I just did this successfully, March 2024. I noticed if you feed it peppermints it bonds much quicker, I was trying with hay for ages and nothing was happening
I think it would... I've always got the black Arabian in the St Denis street robbery intervention in Chapter 2, so it's never been an issue about getting it. So, I've never tried to get the black Arabian in this way. But... I don't see why it would work. I might check on that to be honest, and see, because you've got me curious.

@@katewildhorse6835 Apparently, you can go in through the window at the Braithwaite stable and feed the Turkoman then- before you interact with the stable guy. I have not done that myself, but you should be able to bond it like that too. Make a save beforehand, whatever you do ;-)

It varies case by case, I think it's random. My first time was 20+, second time was only 4.

Surprisingly, this still works, although you just have to feed it a LOT of food, I almost ran out when I was fully stocked, but very good method

Every horse is spooked easily until you bond with it all the way. The breed doesn't make any difference and neither does the coat color lol

You are probably talking about the Perlino Andalusian. I'm currently riding that horse until I reach the mission "Horse Flesh For Dinner"

Just did it, but it took me a lot of feeding (20+). Also, I was able to brush it, which also seemed to improve relations.
Still works June 2024 if on ps4 just press and hold L1 to feed it.

Same here, I’m not able to interact with it at all
So I restarted the mission and tried another method I found but I also think I was clicking the wrong button before 🤣 I was trying to press L2 to interact but I needed to press L1 standing next to the horse. I’m able to feed it now
Damn I messed up and didn’t feed it after it bonded so it didn’t show up on my map. So lame now I gotta go look up a way to get another one
hopefully this helps anyone out!. i was stuck on this mission and it bugged where you leave the stable and john and javier was stuck and couldn't continue missions, i deleted version dll and used the dinput one and i kept my online weapons and other goodies i bought. i loaded the save up first without dinput and just removing version.dll and my items was gone, and when i put dinput back into the folder they was there on loading up the save
also the mission worked after. i also stumbled upon this glitch and have the horse now. i called it tuco, from breaking bad!
also im not sure if removing version dll has broken any off the mods i use yet. further testing is required, however my smoking mod works and basic needs. also all the weather mods seem ok so far
oh and like some people said, i fed this mf about 30 items, and run out of food. so i brushed it instead and it bonded lol

it didn’t work for me i fed him like 16 times and it never showed up with horse bonding level 1 even though it showed the horse care + thing and then it kicked me and ran into the rustlers and when i tried to go to it the cutscene started (infuriating)

Just did this a few days ago so it has not been patched. But during Money lending and other sins V the Horse disappeared on me sadly 😢
Still works as of February 21st 2024 but it took me around 20 feeds in order to bond. Maybe some treats work better than others?
I tried it and it bonded but the horse isn’t there going back

I bonded with it but when i go there after thw cut scene, it wasn't there.. i guess having another secondary at base prevented this :(

I dont know if it's just me but when I speed up a little bit with the turkoman not even full speed in the horse player screen it says that it's agitated.
Yes! This horse is very highly strung. The least little thing agitates it, and it will stay agitated for a long time. When you're bonding a horse, if it's agitated, it won't bond as quickly. So, I always try to stay on top of that- when the horse seems agitated- soothing it. And the Turkomans seem to be agitated by almost everything out of the ordinary.
However, having said that, I love this dark bay Turkoman. It is a great war horse. In combat is when it comes into its own. Fast, agile, soaks up loads of damage and makes you feel like everything is under control, which, in turn, gives you confidence, and when you are calmer, you make better shots and better split-second decisions.
@@brindlebucker4741 yeah my favorite turkoman is also the dark bay but I'm wondering is the agitation thing a bug? Because same thing happens to the arabians
@@notoriousenemym Um... I don't know. I don't think it's a bug. I think it's programmed in. The Turkoman is definitely more high strung than other horses- but it is BETTER in combat than other horses. If you want a horse with a really laid back demeanour, try a Belgian Draft Horse. All horses get agitated, but you give the Belgian a carrot or a brush and whatever it was that was bothering him is pretty much immediately forgotten. I really get along with the Belgian Draft Horse. Has low health and stamina, but it's fun to play with.

Worked for me on the second try (I forgot to feed the horse one extra time). Got the horse bonding symbol after one brushing and one hay for some reason, lol
Does this interfere with accomplishing all mission objectives for a gold medal? Cause a gold without replay is more valuable to me than a horse I can get later. Just wondering! 😅

I got this horse one time, and the brand went away once I put it in the stable. But other times it didn't. So... who knows? I don't know why it would have done it once and not done it another, but it did.

It goes away automatically after you saddle it up.

14.02.2024 ps5, for me it didn't worked unfortunately, i fed the mf all i had on me and my stach was fully loaded with goodies, it showed the care+ sign every time i fed the turkoman but it never bonded with me, i freed up space at the stable, i did a save before and retried the mission several times and still didnt bonded with me 😢.. any ideas on what did i do wrong? Or they patched it by now?
I just did this successfully, March 2024. I noticed if you feed it peppermints it bonds much quicker, I was trying with hay for ages and nothing was happening

I think it would... I've always got the black Arabian in the St Denis street robbery intervention in Chapter 2, so it's never been an issue about getting it. So, I've never tried to get the black Arabian in this way. But... I don't see why it would work. I might check on that to be honest, and see, because you've got me curious.

@@katewildhorse6835 Apparently, you can go in through the window at the Braithwaite stable and feed the Turkoman then- before you interact with the stable guy. I have not done that myself, but you should be able to bond it like that too. Make a save beforehand, whatever you do ;-)
No I tried it today, the Black Arabian doesn't care.
Once you stable it, is there any issue riding it around in free mode cuz of the branding?

Never tried it replay, but I don't see why it shouldn't. You know what they say- the best way to find out is to try.
