Coming from a Tipperary man, I must say other Counties supporters should model themselves on the Dublin supporters! Every time I watch Cluxton kick that point as the Hill goes delirious I can't help but be covered in goose bumps! In my opinion, this is my favorite sporting moment I have ever seen in my lifetime! Also this video should have thousands more views, and like the last ten minutes of the 2014 Hurling Final, it should be showed to the public abroad to promote GAA for the wonderful sport that it is!
The Irish Lad I was on the Hill that day... thanks for the kind comment and it's a pleasure to read such a message from a true GAA supporter... it was some day that I will never forget and hard luck to Kerry who played such a massive part.
The Irish Lad Well said pal, other supporters despise us being the capital or always getting to play in croker. Its great winning to shut them up. Hope Tipp win Liam this year
My father lost his Dad in May 1995 and that was his first All Ireland win without him. 2011 was my first year going to the Hill. It will forever be my favourite game for how full circle everything was
I was in the Nally for this game, having got a v last minute ticket. I'll never forget the atmosphere. At one stage I thought the foundations of the hill and nally shook! Start of a decade of amazing wins! Up the Dubs!
64:42 - THE ROAR!!!! I was there!!! Gerrup ya boya!!!! 1995, 2011,2013,2015,2016 I've been to all 5 finals. Won em all. Magic. This was the best of the lot!
Never noticed that double hop by McManamon before in the 67th min. At position 7:06 in the video. Would have been a capable free for Kerry. He certainly turned this game around with his contributions in that final stretch. Amazingly underated baller.
That and the 12 steps for the goal. And the 70seconds it took to take the free with no chance given to Kerry to get up the field. I’m not bitter though…😂
Best day of my life was in the canal end. 7 minutes to go I thought Kerry would end up winning by 8/9 which they should have given their position. Something changed in the air when mcmanaman got that goal
Still her goosebumps as if I was back up on the hill again for cluxtons kick….don’t care what anyone says that win was by far my favourite to finally get over the line….you couldn’t beat being there
Remember watching this in 2011. Still get goosebumps at the Dublin goal. Wanted Dublin to win because they hadn't won The All Ireland since 1995. Kerry were the dominant team in the 2000's.
I cry everything Cluxton sends it over the bar and then whistle bowls. and the fn hill goes MAD. its all happening again in 2 weeks!!!!!! ahhhhh common the Dubs ! you will do it again!
Whoever you support - you have to enjoy two great teams going at each other. As a Dub fan - its the prospect of facing Kerry that gets the heart racing
Same here, saw them lift Sam back in 95 when I was 10 years old. Oh man, those 16 years since were just pure agony, particularly between 1996 - 2001 when the Dubs couldn't even win the Leinster championship.
The most important part of this video is the clock. The officials indicated 2 minutes extra time. Watch when the "foul" is awarded. The clock stood at 70:41. Cluxton strolled up from his goal, the referee gesticulated for him to hurry up. Cluxton broke into a slow trot and took his kick at 71:51, well over a minute had elapsed. He scored it, fair play to him. My point is that there was over one minute of "dead time" at a crucial point of the match. The referee then blew full time at 72:10. Alan Brogan was the most clearheaded person in Croke Park, as it was him who requested Cluxton to come and take the free kick, knowing that it would run down the clock. I'm from Kerry and despite being naturally biased, I believe that Kerry lost that game through bad decision making in the last few minutes and giving Dublin the initiative. Dublin finished stronger and deserved their victory. But that poor performance by referee Joe McQuillan in those final few minutes has always irked me. We win some, we lose some. That's life, but play by the rules.
@@markshortall3384 The ref blew for a foul at that time 70.41 and resulting free kick went over a minute or so later so the ref should have added on a minute instead of ten seconds because the ball was dead. Poor reffing. Dublin deserved it more still though.
Weeeehhhh Kerry pulling jerseys all over and big tough Kieran Donaghy play acting, dropping like a sack of spuds after getting touched in the face. You lost. If you're having to blame the ref for a loss then you should have been good enough that poor decisions weren't a factor
Barely touched him with that last effort. It was nonsense. Didn’t look anything live and on the replay even softer. Championship won a dive. Then the time wasting. Some tweaks needed. I understand the no tackling, as it would slow the game down, but limited replay challenges and the clock stopping after 10 seconds for a free kick. The NFL has similar problems with the clock. I don’t blame Dublin for milking it, but the rules need tweaking.
Was in the hill for the league final against Tyrone atmosphere and drama was just as good I go to all the games but unfortunately not that one HILL 16 IS DUBLIN ONLY!!!!!!!
I think Mayo could be a step too far for them but they've done brilliantly regardless. Slight underdogs going into the games against Cork, Derry and Galway and ended up winning all three. They also beat Waterford. They were in the under 21 and minor All-Ireland finals last year, and although they lost those finals to Tyrone and Kerry, getting to those two AI finals in the same year is clear progress. They won an AI minor 3 or 4 years ago, and the Munster club champions are a Tipp team too, so I think it's fair to say they'll be a relatively strong force in years to come and reaching the last four has been no fluke. As for Kilkenny, the less said the better.
@@AnnesleyPlaceDub70 Maybe so lately but Kerry have beaten Dublin more times than lost on record with some finals a hammering Google them 🤣 Besides now the game is gone negative and teams win all Ireland’s by not playing the game as it should be To give credit Kerry Dublin ganes are always played at the highest level and open football
Conor Dillon A minute before that Donaghy was crumbling to the ground. The most cynical team in the GAA and you're golden boy O'Donoghue is excelling at it. Should be playing soccer with his nancy boy diving.
Dublin have only won 11 All Ireland like everyone else. The first 15 were won by kerry Mayo country lads. Notice there was little mention of Dublin team of 20s the last Dublin team to do 3 in a row before current team won 3 in a row. Why coz it was not team with Dublin players in 20s. It was all star team from players all over Ireland. Dublin won their All lreland like everyone else in 1958. A Dublin team with Dublin players. They won 11 until above 2011. They won 8 after in last decade. But they were bought as Dublin became the PSG Man City of gaa. Basically nearly professional team in amateur sport. First Irish government gave Dubs 2 million for full time coach's. No one else got these funds. In next few years the rest Dublins opponents got up to 1 million from gaa sponsors etc. Dubs received 25 million. And the All Irelands came flooding in. Just like how Man City are going for 5 league title. Dubs and Man City both wear blue and both had massive financial advantages. This is reality. Dubs are the same. Anyone who denies a team that gets 24 times more funds than any other team up to 24 million more, anyone who think that is not advantage doesn't live in the real world. And of course Dubs have all games at home. So Dublin have won 11 All Ireland like everyone else.
