Q: How do you receive certification in ESL? Does a bilingual authorization cover it?

In the US you get what's called an endorsement. This endorsement goes onto your general teaching certificate. In order to get the endorsement you have to take graduate classes. I got 18 credit hours of graduate classes. Each class is 3 credit hours. So I had to take 6 graduate classes to get my endorsement. It took one to two years to complete the courses because I was teaching full time and I took one course per semester.
