Thanks for this video - we have this boiler in our "new" house, we know its 13 years old, but we don't have a manual. The Vaillant website only seems to give current model manuals, so useless to us, and your vid was the only place I could find online to explain the basics of operating controls.
Thank you so much! Was tearing my hair out with frustration! the radiators could not warm up even though the boiler was working.... Radiators scorching hot now. Thanks again.
You and the other engineer saved my life. I did the reset thing from your video. Pressurizing from another video. And again depressorizing another video. Thanks for this video. So helpful
Great and very helpful video. Delivery much better than the communications team at my council who think they should impart the information. Leave the experts to deliver the advice for their subject. Perfect.
Just saved me and my roomate a huge fucking hassle and a mini panic attack. Just thought the least I could do was to leave a comment thanking you. So here it is, thank you.
Yes MATE. WHETHER IT WAS HELPFUL OR NOT TO MYSELF BUT I'LL SAY THIS MUCH THAT "YOU EXPLAINED IT VERU NICELY. CLEARLY AND STRAIGHT TO THE POINT, WHEREAS SOME JUST FLY THROUGH SO FAST THAT YOU'VE GOT TO KEEP ON REPLYING IT OVER AND OVER TO UNDERSTAND WHAT THEY'RE TRYING TO EXPLAIN.
Another use case is away from the boiler if someone accidentally turns a thermostat to zero the boiler won't fire. Always check thermostat dial which might be in your hallway.
Someone moved dial and now top reading is hN1 for heating bottom still says cylinder Im reluctant to move dial because I dont have a clue about it..can you advise please..!!
So basically my boiler engineer lied to me lol he said the -/+ buttons if held down would "sweep" the boiler refreshing it removing any errors, totally fabricated lie lol. Thanks for the video, very helpful 🙂
Thank you so much for this video. My boiler was showing fault code f61. Was going to phone the landlords to come out and fix it. Did it myself in seconds by watching your instructions. Have a great day x
One important thing you failed to tell people: The water temp knob, if its turned to Max will activate the preheat feature, this is indicated by the green light being on constant (as in the video) when the temp knob is turned to Min preheat will be turned off and the green light will be off (after turning it Min move the knob back to midway position or the water temp will be too low). Now when water flow is detected & the boiler fires up the green light will be flashing. I mention this as preheat is a feature which keeps the boiler hot 24/7, this results in water arriving at the taps a bit quicker but the downside is you will hear the boiler fire up every 1/2 hr or so 24/7 which can result in £100's extra in gas consumption per year, its optional so try it both ways, personally I would never use preheat as it can cause other problems like scaled up plate heat exchanger etc.
jaxmar88 so I have a eco tech pro 28 my plumber says optimum temp is 66 on heating. Is that correct? Also what should standing pressure be I don’t have a number just the grey line as per the video. At minute when on it’s just under half point on the grey grade when off it drops to just over the grey start of the grey line. Cheers
Fantastic mate. Very clear. Thanks! 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻 [edit] after resetting, the hot water continues to work (that was never the problem) but the radiators won’t turn on - no light appears when radiators are on like when we turn on the hot water tap. Could be an issue with the radiators themselves? All valves are open and the heater temp is turned all the way up.
Appreciate this! Been puzzled a while as to what temp setting for radiators is best! Thank u! On Max! No idea too what the plus and minus buttons do either! Can u explain those? I hear a lot about “pressure bar” what is best number it should be on? Why does pressing ( i)then (+) do a count 1-10 each time it’s pressed? What should it be? I left it on 1. I’d like to understand more basics about its buttons. Often in winter I get F.75 code. Not sure if it’s something I’m doing wrong? I did think radiator dial was supposed to be same as water one so I’m glad at least I know that now! I have a small baby so need to understand better my boiler.
Greeting! I have the same boiler and my pressure dropped below the gray line. What should I do to raise the pressure again to half the gray zone? thank you!
Hello thanks so much for the details. I have a question if I may, I have the vuw 280/2-5 type and I can't get to level up the water pressure. It stays really low and I have no idea if the radiator are getting filles up. Any suggestion on this? Thanks a lot
Hi, I have the exact same boiler and after installing new smart thermostat it worked just fine for a week and one day the boiler would not start without turning thermostat on, and when I did turn it on, the boiler is heating the water and when it comes to heating the radijators I hear it starting and then just stops. Could it be some kind od blockage because of a thermostat. Up until now there was this really old thermostat. Anyway, the boiler and its connections appear just fine
How do I stop the boiler from firing up all the time? I am told to set the water and rediators to 53 or below? This stops the boiler from keeping the water hot all day etc.
Thanks . When is it ok to call Valiant gas boiler specialist with this code F28 if it occurs more than once? Normally the Valiant staff ask for call out charge even if the boiler is under warranty as ours is only 6 months old. They refund if the boiler is faulty ? Why should F28 code comes on even gas supply is ok in the house? Does it mean part failure inside the boiler?
My valiant boiler keeps losing pressure, it keeps dropping from 0.5 bar to 0 can you give me a diagnosis on this please. I thought it was the water intake pipe being faulty but I can't detect any leakage from it
Hi I have this boiler it has a separate thermostat in the hall the left dial has been moved by a child I cant remember what it originally displayed but it now shows HE IN above the word cylinder Ive had it years and never moved that I only use right button As I use it manually im quite worried.Any advice please..!
I am trying to get my thermastat to find my boiler it flashes but doesn't do anything have hot water but no heating if you could advise please its a vaillant
Hi my boiler is flashing saying 2.3 I dont know whether to reset as my radiators are very cold when I put them on I put pressure slightly up but still flashing.
Having issues with the heating not coming on. This is the exact boiler I have, what happens if there is no orange light on at all? What would you recommend?
I went to turn up the hot water which was on 61 to 65 but then it automatically went back to 61 ??? Tried again and same happened :( you would know why ??
I’m getting this now after 10 years of installing this boiler. In my case. There’s gas going through but the red light stays on. I restart it and it works for about 1 min then goes back to red again. What could be wrong ?

You absolutely saved my life with this video! I was way too close to having a panic attack so thank you!!!
7 years later in Liverpool. Still very helpful. Better explanation then I have ever had off any of my housing assc engineer s 👍
Mr 7 years ago your shared this video but today i did copy you and i fixed my big problems thanks alot 😍
Thank you for your simple, straightforward FREE advice and help. Much appreciated.
Thank you so much! Was tearing my hair out with frustration! the radiators could not warm up even though the boiler was working.... Radiators scorching hot now. Thanks again.
what did you do i have the same problem, did you just reset the boiler?
@@angelainniss7986 Check the video at 1:00 min. Lower dial is used to set maximum temperature of your radiators. I was also looking for this info.
You and the other engineer saved my life. I did the reset thing from your video. Pressurizing from another video. And again depressorizing another video. Thanks for this video. So helpful

Just saved me and my roomate a huge fucking hassle and a mini panic attack. Just thought the least I could do was to leave a comment thanking you. So here it is, thank you.
This was very helpful. Just reset the boiler because of your video. Thank you very much 😊
A huge thanks for this, really well explained and has saved me a call out charge.
Thanks for this video :) managed to get my boiler back on and learnt a bit more about the temperature dials too.
My gas valve was apparently stuck and code f61 came up and watching this assisted in resetting it. Many thanks 👍
thanks mate couldn't get our hot water on there , old video but got me sorted 👍👍👍
Thank you so must Sir, you made me happy today, simple and easy!! Many thanks!!
My own is having problems how can I set it please give me your WhatsApp number please

Thank you so much you just saved me from a little panic attack 🤣🤣
This video is so helpful. Thanks so much. I had F22.

Very clear, very informative. You are brilliant at explaining things. Thank you.
Great info and very well done, looked at my meter and said off call help, had to call em out to fix it but your vid and explanation was great ty
Thanks for this guide, I have an f.22 fault where I'm losing pressure. Just doing some research for that and found this. Many thanks.

I was curious because I've set mine to 50C and the green light did not lit up.
Thanks for the info.
Tank you!
jaxmar88 I turned both water and radiators to minimum and the darn thing still activates, can you advise please

Easy to understand and very helpful. Thanks x
Great video, but it would have been really useful to also show how to repressurise the boiler with the loop.
Thank you so much, just did this :)

Most helpful video for Vaillant boilers
brilliant! sorted it 1st time and going through loads of other vids
if you touch the flame symbol with a cross through it by mistake does it effect the boiler
Greeting! I have the same boiler and my pressure dropped below the gray line. What should I do to raise the pressure again to half the gray zone? thank you!

I don't think so...too hot..?
Can these old bangers be used to set a timer for the heating to come on?

Thank you so much for this video
Thanks, what are those numbers when you click the i button?

Many thanks. Very helpful.😀
Hi.. Can you please explain what u need to do for an error with f.27 on a vaillant ecoTEC Plus combine boiler? Thanks

...RE: F28 - if your gas fire/ cooker is working, then it's not the fault of the gas supply?
Hi my boiler is flashing saying 2.3 I dont know whether to reset as my radiators are very cold when I put them on I put pressure slightly up but still flashing.
Having issues with the heating not coming on. This is the exact boiler I have, what happens if there is no orange light on at all? What would you recommend?
Peter the same is happening to me now aswell
Niki Warda I’ve changed batteries in thermostat as I have the flame icon on there. Nothing changed. I’m bloody cold.

I have same boiler, heating is working fine but the only problem is hot water, it's just lukewarm water, can you help me plz
Very helpful! Thank you!
I've got a Vaillant ecotec plus 837. Getting hot water to taps but not to radiators at all. What could be the cause? No fault codes showing.
I have the same problem and I can’t get any answers
What F -22 means the red light is always on I’m pressing the cross fire bottom and the red light is unfortunately on
I’m getting this now after 10 years of installing this boiler. In my case. There’s gas going through but the red light stays on. I restart it and it works for about 1 min then goes back to red again. What could be wrong ?
It maybe that you have a leak somewhere in the system.
Thank you very helpful
Thank you very much for great information
I have this boiler but have hot water and no heating, had an engineer change the thermostat and still no heating what could it be
