Thank you Lexi, for pointing out your own privilege and addressing racialized violence via a vulnerable topic. An excellent point in this video is that the transgender community could gain more traction by coming together and unifying, which I think is what both of you articulately say. Perhaps the “divide” in the transgender community is partly an artifact of the feminist movement that intentionally excluded women of color and targeted transmen as traitors. Think, Gale Rubin’s charmed circle, where some group is pushed to the constituent outside, so that other parts of the group can conform more toward normativity. Why has this divide not been highly problematized, as it seems to follow some homonormative ideals of gender? For the trans community to recreate this idea of “opposite” sex division, because we already know transgender is a spectral category, seems counter productive. Are we even aware this is occurring?
Awesome video. What a smart sexy woman. Hurt me to hear about her encounter with violence. And rings so true with me the stuff about just becoming ourselves being a full time career and full time expense. Wish her the best of luck with surgery!
Oh no I can't bring myself to that.... We're all different, but I wish you well , Good luck with the FFS. Thank you Forrest for this upload ! Cheers Brie 💚💜💛💖❤️💙
I disagree, I think it depends on genetics, time you begin transition, and luck... Some trans women start off feminine some don't... Same for trans men...
7 wonders True, but I would point out that testosterone is a hormone that tends to have a more dramatic external transformation than estrogen, no matter the age you start HRT. I don't know of any trans men who experienced only minor changes from testosterone, but there are a good number of trans women who say that estrogen didn't greatly alter their external appearance. Also, I've never heard of a transman seeking facial masculinization surgery. The T is good to us.
Cóz X Valid points.. however i want to mention, though testosterone is more effective than estrogen, both hormones create changes on the body and bone structures that can't be reversed or undone through cross hormone treatment. On top of that. I feel there is a broader acceptance of looks branded acceptable for men than it is for women. Women always have their legitimacy of being a woman questioned, often 'cause their features or over all look doesn't conform to this standard of what a woman is suppose to looks like.. wendy williams, joseline hernandez, ann coulter, big ang... besides maybe justin beiber, how many times are men ever questioned on their legitimacy of being a man based on appearance? It seems to me all a dude needs to be considered a man is a little facial hair. I feel there is'nt as much pressure on trans men to conform to society's male image as it is for trans women and women in general to conform to societies female image. It seems to me that there is way less concern, worry, and suspicion as to who is and who ins't trans when it comes to men than it is for women.
I'm always happy to see a new video from you. Your conversational videos are always so articulate and interesting!
Lexi I just checked out your channel and youve come such a long way in your transition. proud of you girl!
Jules Weiss Thanks so much! I'm certainly hustling hard. :)
Forrest, what ever happened to Lexy? Her channel has no recent uploads and none about her facial surgery update
Well done. Loved all the info you two were able to share.

Hey man - any update on Lexi? Been wondering how her facial surgery went and how she's doing in general
Good! The surgeon's leaving those lovely cheekbones alone!

To me, all kinds of medical procedures sound a bit scary (like the part about the brow bone!), but is it not worth it? It's a rhetorical question :)
Oh no I can't bring myself to that....

I feel like in most ways, we trans guys have it so easy compared to the medical transitioning of trans women.

You can never tell that a transman used to be a woman but can always tell that a transwoman used to be a man.
