From Head To Toe Of course! I can't even begin to imagine how hard it is to be a mom. I struggle to take care of my 3 guinea pigs 😂 another actual human being is on a whole other level. I have so much respect you guys. Moms really are the most hardworking people out there!
I had to replay the first few seconds over and over just so I could watch Aria, she truly is the cutest baby I've ever laid eyes on. She just looks so happy and curious! Please make more videos with her!!!
Thank you, girls! It is really helpful. I had an appointment about lactation with a midwife because I was so stressed about breastfeeding when baby comes (still am, but a lot less, lol), and she talked a lot about the hunger, the thirst and baby blue, too. When you breastfeed, you produce two hormones, ocytocin and protaglandin, that help with your supply and transform your blood into milk for the baby, and also produce all the elements your little one needs, and that's a lot of work for your body, so you need to stay really hydrated and eat things that help out (omega 3 are recommended for breastfeeding mommas!). So that's why you are always thirsty and hungry, hehe. As for the baby blues, she explained that a crushing majority of new moms go through it beginning at day 3, because of the crash in hormone levels. It's completely normal and will disappeay when your hormone find their balance, which can take some time. That's also why you lose your hair like crazy... Also, 85% of babies come before or after the due date! Read that in my weekly update for my own (I hope he comes early, I can't do it anymore!). anyway, thank you Jen and Molly for this very helpful video! I already had a lot of info thanks to my unending questioning of my doctor and midwife (lol, poor them), but I still found a lot of things I didn't know about in the video, and it also helps to assuage some fears I have for when baby comes! Love you and a very happy mother's day!
My grandmother had 10 children in the 40s & 50s, at home 8 of them (the 2 last ones in the hospital). My great-grandmother helped her through as she was a midwife, but the 2 last ones she wasn't around for anymore. No pain management back then. Just the way it was. Women are so blessed now for having so many options these days. That's what I think, at least.
Thank you for highlighting the difference between baby blues and post partum diagnoses. Baby blues being very normative, but being able to notice when you need more help is very important, and not to be dismissed! Love your videos Jen :)
LOL Molly. Your story about your friend being like "no, I'm having this baby" and knowing herself. My mom told me the story (slight overshare so if people aren't into that, don't read this: ) that when she was in the hospital for me she had to make a bowel movement and the nurses kept telling her "no you don't, it's just contractions" and my mom was like "no, I NEED to poop" and she finally convinced them to let her go to the bathroom. She popped out the tiniest little turd and was like "told you so." lolol. Your story of your friend made me think of that story from my mom. :)
My mom's teeth (a few of them) literally fell out while pregnant. At that time they didn't have prenatal vitamins yet (this is the early 70s in Belgium) and I "ran away" with all her calcium supply.
Jojo W., she had a very small denture set made at the time, with 2 teeth on it. It clicked in easily and lasted her for years, and it never ever bothered her. She is 70 now and bar from having a few bottom teeth left, she has almost full dentures now. So. Yeah. Time passes. It's not that she was without teeth. :) But at age 26, that's not what you're expecting for sure.
How about those phantom baby kicks!! 😂 I swear after having both of my kids, I sometimes get phantom baby kicks that get me all nervous like: "wait. But I'm not pregnant.... am I?"
Labor usually takes longer for the first pregnancy. But subsequent labor usually goes a lot quicker since your body has gone through the process already. Of course EVERY pregnancy and labor is different just like every baby and person is. You'll see Jen.😉
I'm pregnant with my first, and these were actually really good to hear! I have a "plan" for delivery, but the one thing I'm planning for most is for things to NOT go according to plan...ha ha!
My little man was born in the night of December 7th 2016, in the morning when they took me to the maternity ward I started feeling such pain with one tooth. I still feel it so much to the point where I can't eat normally anymore and now another tooth on the same side started hurting as well! Haha it's terrible. I always say, he is getting his teeth and taking mine away :D your baby is soooo adorable! And you're gorgeous Jen
Not all mothers experience that bond you talk about at the end. My mother had it with her first 2, but when I was born she told me it took months for her to feel any bond to me.
Thank you so much it's helpful because I'm planning to have a baby and it's a good information for me.. can you please please please share some books for pregnancy and baby..
I really loved reading Expecting Better by Emily Oster and Bringing Up Bebe by Pamela Druckerman. Brain Rules for Baby is also a great one for raising a happy, empathetic kid!
Exactly everything i've been through during and after my pregnancy, nobody really talks about what really happens when you're gonna pop... especially the waiting between contractions
All of the points mentioned are so true! I have a 5 and half month old baby who wakes up every one to two hours. Hubby and I are exhausted. What did you do to get your baby to sleep? We are truly desperate. P.S. we tried the Cry It Out method and he will cry for almost two hours.
I didn't even get to hold my son after I just delivered him! They checked him first and cleaned him completely and waited a little to ask me if I wanted to hold him. Like "HELL YES!" In my mind. First time having a baby and couldn't even get to hold him as if I wasn't just pushing for hours to finally see my baby after full term pregnancy! All I wanted was to hold my biggest blessing. 😤😓
Don't worry, I was the same! I could not see any vegetable, my stomach would turn and I would get sick even smelling them (still do with some of them, but it's getting better). And now, at 38 weeks, I'm craving salads, pineapple and ice cream lol. The body is a weird thing ^^
I didn't know about that! But my mom always craved salty food, and I'm a girl, so it may be an old wife's tale? I'm expecting a boy and I crave more sugary things than salty things, too, even though I'm normally more on the salty side of the spectrum :p I think it depends from a woman to another ^^
I don't know what the Gender is until our June ultrasound! But I truly think it's different for everyone and might be an old wives tale! Oh man, I can't stand salty & savoury it leaves this strong salty aftertaste flavour on my tongue literally all day 😖. Whereas sweets just taste so good! Thanks for sharing ladies!
I'm about 14 weeks and when I finally DO want food (morning sickness hit me like a ton of bricks! NOTHING prepares you for that), all I want is fruit. I heart all about the junk food cravings, so I think those are normal! I feel like I'm the weird one.
This was such a cute video! Currently 26 weeks preggo with my first so it was fun hearing both of your post partum experiences. Not looking forward to the shedding lol
Great video but to me breastfeeding was actually the hardest part and I didn't expect that at all as I've always thought it will come naturally. I was crying all the time from the pain and constantly worrying whether I was doing it right. I only got the hang of it after 2 months because help was so limited (no trained lactation consultant in my hospital unfortunately, just general nurses), just wanted to share that. Thanks for the video.
Diary of a Bagaholic i had a lactation consultant show me different ways to breastfeed my son but I cried a lot because it was so hard and I talked to family counselor they had at the hospital and she told me it was okay. It was okay if we couldn't breastfeed. We're so pressured into breastfeeding because it's good for our kids but if you can't it's okay.
I Love that Jen accidentally said it’s a major surgery having a baby😂 vaginal delivery is not a major surgery, that would be a C-section LOL being a mom is so tiering, I sometimes forget how to talk🤦🏻♀️
Honestly donut pillows are so great even when you are still pregnant since it helps relieve the pressure! Congratulations on your due date quickly approaching!!!!
I'm not pregnant or getting pregnant soon, but in the future I plan to have kids. Hearing about the hunger part worries me because I already have difficulty eating enough and gaining weight, and sometimes I just get tired of eating! I just imagine my future baby literally sucking the life force out of me! 😶
Jessica Schroeder don't let her sleep in the afternoon, have a walk before sleep, make her bath with lavender. And she should not be hungry when going to sleep. My boy sleeps good since he 2 years old. These all helped me. Good luck!
A baby should really not be allowed to sleep through the night until they are at least 3-4 months old. If a 2 week old baby is sleeping through the night, that is definitely trouble and means that there is something not right. Babies younger than 1-2 months should absolutely be waking up to feed during the night!! (Pediatrician speaking here)
Not true! My daughter slept through the night (10 hours straight) starting at 2 weeks old; she's now a perfectly healthy and smart 2 year old. My son didn't sleep through the night until he was 4 years old. Please do not spread misinformation! At least cite your source for that claim.
Oh gosh, you absolutely can overeat while breastfeeding! I am breastfeeding my 18 month old and I still get urges to eat certain foods. It helps that I am vegan and anything I eat (including cake) won't put weight on me. I was a UK size 12 before pregnancy now I am a UK size 8. I still take pre natals, vitamin D and vitamin C because I live in Scotland. I aim to self wean my child, hopefully he will give up the boob around 2/3 years old.
I really wish someone told me of the hunger with breastfeeding. To put in perspective: when pregnant a woman needs to eat on average 300 calories a day. When breastfeeding that same woman needs to eat 500-600 extra calories a day.
When you're nowhere near having a baby and can't relate but still watch to support Jen :D
Awww thank you
From Head To Toe Of course! I can't even begin to imagine how hard it is to be a mom. I struggle to take care of my 3 guinea pigs 😂 another actual human being is on a whole other level. I have so much respect you guys. Moms really are the most hardworking people out there!
I had such a great time with you Jen! Happy Mother's Day!
Thanks for taking the time to do this!
Molly Sims which supplements do you take ? For the hairfall .
I have also had that same dream, but only whenever my endometriosis is really bad!
I had to replay the first few seconds over and over just so I could watch Aria, she truly is the cutest baby I've ever laid eyes on. She just looks so happy and curious! Please make more videos with her!!!

Love your videos Jen :)

Jen, you're such a great listener! Love this video btw. My baby girl is 10 days old today, very helpful vid, thank you.
i'm a soon to be mom, and this was the most helpful mom secrets video i've ever seen!
My mom's teeth (a few of them) literally fell out while pregnant. At that time they didn't have prenatal vitamins yet (this is the early 70s in Belgium) and I "ran away" with all her calcium supply.
😨
Marleen G. Omg so she's been toothless since?!
Jojo W., she had a very small denture set made at the time, with 2 teeth on it. It clicked in easily and lasted her for years, and it never ever bothered her. 🤣 omg i thought i was the only one lol!!
Angela Lee same! Lol
Angela Lee I get those too!

ive heard this before but we shall see me and my hubby are trying for baby number 2
That was fun AND informative! Thanks!
Loved this Jen!
I'm pregnant with my first, and these were actually really good to hear! I have a "plan" for delivery, but the one thing I'm planning for most is for things to NOT go according to plan...ha ha!
I had so much hair loss, no one ever told me about it 😩
My sister in law just gave birth to a baby girl and I'm so happy and excited for her- definitely gonna send her this video to watch! 😍😍😍
This is great!! I loved this because I haven't had a baby and it's great to know what to expect!
Great vid. Especially the part about things will not go as planned, so very true.
You two are so cute together! Thank you for this video! Xx
This was so helpful, Jen. I appreciate it.
Sooo cute ❤️❤️👶🏻
Wow these are so new to me! Very shocking but helpful to know!

Hi Jen, can you please let us know the brand of the shirt and jeans you are wearing in the video? Thank you!
happy mothers day ladies you both look gorgeous
What jeans are you wearing??? I need them!!!

Greetings from Germany!
I'm 13 and I am watching this hahaha, all the love and support Jen :)

Donut pillow all the way! Actually I just used the boppy since it didn’t help me during breastfeeding.
I'm 3.5 months and I always crave junky foods! it's awful, I couldn't care less about healthy clean foods :'(
Don't worry, I was the same! I could not see any vegetable, my stomach would turn and I would get sick even smelling them (still do with some of them, but it's getting better). And now, at 38 weeks, I'm craving salads, pineapple and ice cream lol. The body is a weird thing ^^
they say if you are pregnant with a boy you'll crave food with high sodium, I wonder if it's true and if it's not secret who are you pregnant with?
I didn't know about that! But my mom always craved salty food, and I'm a girl, so it may be an old wife's tale? I'm expecting a boy and I crave more sugary things than salty things, too, even though I'm normally more on the salty side of the spectrum :p

몇년전에 매일 동영상 봤었는데, 이젠 한 아이의 엄마가 되어계시네요.^^ 축하드려요
I'm wondering what it means to give the baby a "gentle pat" to help the baby sleep though the night. What is a "pat" in this case?
I wish you could talk about your experience with sleep training with Aria! Thanks!!
ARIA IS AN ANGEL AH

You should do a day in the life video with Aria and Ben!
Donut pillow for the "surgery." Keeping it real would be telling everyone about the hemorrhoids that pregnancy and delivery often cause
I Love that Jen accidentally said it’s a major surgery having a baby😂 vaginal delivery is not a major surgery, that would be a C-section LOL being a mom is so tiering, I sometimes forget how to talk🤦🏻♀️
The hair loss thing... thank you!!
OMG THE BREASTFEEDING HUNGER. SO REAL.
Aw lil mini jenn sho q
This is so helpful..... even tho I'm 22 and single and several years away from having a kid hahaha
So true!
how cute is Jen? It should be illegal.
My due date is coming soon in a month and this video helps alot!! I should go and get a donut pillow....
i will definitely get one for my next pregnancy they do seem like a great invention
Honestly donut pillows are so great even when you are still pregnant since it helps relieve the pressure! Congratulations on your due date quickly approaching!!!!

아기 너무 귀여워요~~ :)
U look very slim after gave birth. How u did this? Fans from Hong Kong
How did you lose the weight so quickly?

The only thing that shocked me was the hunger when I started nursing! I was starving!
My Mom ate nothing but potato chips when she had me. I wonder why : P
my skin type completely changed after having my baby+1
I really wish someone told me of the hunger with breastfeeding.
To put in perspective: when pregnant a woman needs to eat on average 300 calories a day. When breastfeeding that same woman needs to eat 500-600 extra calories a day.
I gave birth on my due date with my second child
Sequins during the day?!
The only reason I found out I was pregnant was because I had and urge to drink buckets of water, and craved lemons!!
87th like and 13th comment. It was lovely to see Jen & Aria again :-D
I could barely eat when breastfeeding. No cravings. No hunger.
So the model names her kids after colors, that's not at all gimmicky and dumb.
Holy Atheist as well as a lot of other regular people
You should do a day in the life video with Aria and Ben!
