I tear up every time I see this ending, even though I've seen it so many times lol so don't worry you definitely aren't the only one to get that attached to Lee. As far as the mystery man goes, I think it was pretty cool. It was cool to see the consequences of everyone taking the supplies from someone, who ends up losing his mind during the apocalypse. It's also interesting that his plan changed from pure revenge to wanting to keep clementine, since it seems that he was subconsciously trying to replace the family that he lost. He also seemed to be trying to convince himself that his actions were justified if he made Lee into a villain instead. That's just my opinion of course but I thought it was good, made sense, and I definitely wanted to take him down for taking clementine xD.

imo the stranger being, well, a complete stranger fits in really well with the games themes. A complete and utter stranger arguably caused the downfall and death of the group. He literally never appears, is heard, or is even referenced before clementine goes missing, something that was completely out of the groups control and up to the whim of a single insane stranger caused numerous deaths and the disbandment of the group, hell, we never even hear the guys name. Prevailing with the common theme that no matter what you do, everything is destined to end in ruins, forcing those left to live in the ashes.

Not sure why this video popped up on my feed (I watched another playthrough of this game but it was like 4 years ago) but a great genuine reaction and I'm sure your channel will grow fast. TH-cam algorithm, you got me this time.
If you fail to choke the stranger out and he starts choking Lee, Clem shoots him in the head. I prefer that outcome in the story, because rather than Clem simply being the little damsel in distress and Lee being the savior, it shows her competence in those situations as someone who looks out for Lee just as much as he looks out for her, which is a far more powerful demonstration of the strength of their relationship, and I think that's beautiful.
But he came to save HER from the stranger.. not the other way around and i tried my best to not let clementine shoot the stranger cuz i wanted lee to kill him himself, i couldnt do it tho cuz im bad at fighting
I love your expression. That game has a special place in my heart, I played it in 2012, Was 20 yo. As a big TWD fan I really appreciate this story, the depth of it. Thanks for video :) Greetings from Poland.
The series wasn't the same after the first season, sadly. The writer left and made his own campany. The other seasons are still interesting, but it just wasn't the same caliber imo. The writer made another game called 'Firewatch' if you're ever interested. Thanks for the playthrough! Nice to relive the memories from years ago.
Dang i played firewatch it's a guy who also has problems with his wife it's more of a funny game i feel like but i have a weird sense of humour compared to everyone.
I played this game in the early days, shortly after it was released to PC/ I made it to Savannah, but many of the tips didn't appear on screen, and the control layout only listed and showed controller options, so I struggled a lot. I ended up stopping at the train station, where the wrench was propping the door open, because grabbing the wrench never became an option to kill the walker attacking me. I also don't recall the entire bandit plot being significant with the Dairy. But the game was updated many times since I last played it. I suspect a lot of content was added to the earlier episodes after I was no longer playing them Watching this playthrough series was more impactful to me now than it was when I was playing, as my God Daughter wasn't even a hope in her parents eyes, and now she is just 1 year younger than Clementine at the start of the game, and her name (not originating from this game, they never played this game) is Carly
Loved watching your play through of the first season! So many up & downs 🙌🏻. No matter how many times I play or see the ending I get emotional, Lee deserved a happy ending 😭.
34:26 Oh, God...imagine Lee saying that. NOT THE TIME! lol "Water off a ducks back...ohh....sh*t...sorry, Kenny. But, hey, maybe when we find somewhere to settle down in all this, you can get yourself a Kat for company...ehhhrmmm I mean...a dog...a stray dog...not a Katja..KAT...I mean...."
This has got to be one of the saddest scenes in history not even in just gaming but in general From 2 strangers to 2 of the best duos in gaming Clem and Lee will always be legendary and I tear up everytime I watch this scene Clem is so strong and it’s like Lee was meant to find her in some moments it makes u feel like he’s actually her dad and then seeing her real parents become walkers made it sadder no kid should ever have to kill somebody they love and their best friend/father figure
The Walking Dead universe had to be the ricketiest, most designed-to-fail world I've ever seen., like it's an alternate timeline where quality assurance was never invented. There should be a LiveLeak logo in the corner of the screen throughout the entire game.
If you can't win the QTE against the Stranger when you try to choke him out, he overpowers Lee and it is Clem who shoots him to save Lee. These are the 10%.
Wow its been quite some time since I have watched a playthrough of this and the ending hurt almost the same as the first time. I will always remember my playthrough of this game
He wouldn't take the guilt for what happened to his family and he needed to use a scapegoat so he picked you to bear all the blame, and to justify his further actions.
Found your Last of Us 2 reaction/review... so naturally, I had to see if you tackled TWD series. Got my subscribe for it. One of the most heart-breaking endings of a game.
chopping the arm off is right choice if you got bit in walking dead world, but you have to cut it off immediately after you got bit. Lee already feeling sick after he opened the elevator, so yeah it's too late. but if you still cut Lee arm,he will not pass out often until the end. also zombies in walking dead world will continue to walk if they heard loud noise even the noises already far away from the herd. that's why Vernon ask Lee group if they coming from train track, the herd has been following from the train start moving. train generate a loud noise, so every miles they moved the been puling herd little by little. the herd caught up with the group at the station and they have been following since then.
I pulled Ben up but I regretted it later because he’s not worth our time, especially because of how unhelpful he is with Clem. I can’t wait to see you play the next chapter!
Actually in the show they've had to cut the leg to save person in the arm to save another person, it's just a matter of cutting it off before the virus moves up the arm
i cut my arm off!! now watching to see if the outcome is the same regardless! i did steal from the car and yeah same did happen, clem killed her captor whilst i was in a struggle with him , but she didnt shoot me, i watched her leave, as she did lee died anyway. loved watching you play too and your reactions, made me feel it all over again.
Great playthrough. Watch out for spoilers when looking up things they could have been different I'm season 1. Also I hope you saw the after credits scene at the end of this epsiode. It was pretty intriguing
I was 12 when this came out and I remember it was the hardest I ever cried for a game. Only other time i cried like that was when watching Marley and Me😅
Honestly, the thing that makes me sad about watching back old playthroughs of this game, is how many people genuinely believe that the choices REALLY affect something. Like... There is no way to save Doug AND Carley, and then they die at Lily’s hands anyway. You cannot save Larry, you cannot save Duck and Katjaa. There is only one ending to the game, and the whole thing is basically just a trial of commitment to Kenny through everything -- since He, Clem, and technically Omid and Christa are the only characters that survive with you to the end. Doug and Carley were bound to die, since they were interchangeable, and TellTale didn’t want to have to write so much dialogue for two different character routes. Same for whether Larry dies or not, and all the dialogue that would come from that, how it might affect his character and actions towards you if you helped save him or tried to kill him. Then, you’d have to change so much of Kenny’s character, and towards the ending of the game a million events would be different if Katjaa and Duck were there. Imagine if Kenny was in high spirits, and you could find a way out of the sewers on your own without Vernon, but you at least had Molly and Katjaa to act as Omid’s doctor, and THAT group conspires to sneak into Crawford through the sewers somehow. That would be incredibly interesting! But TellTale likely didn’t have the team size, or the budget to make that interesting game we all would have loved to play. That, or they wanted to tell a story, without the player really getting to have too much choice, aside from unique dialogues depending on actions, but nothing else consequential. The biggest one has to be the slap in the face that WAS the Stranger on The Radio. Whether or not you steal from him, whether or not you make the decisions he thinks would have been best for Clem, he still comes after you. You can’t stop yourself getting bit, chopping your arm off has no effect. Nothing you do REALLY affects the game. Ben dies anyways, Larry dies anyways… And even if Ben survives at the bell tower, you never get to see any development from him, unless you CHOOSE to develop him into someone who WANTS to go out and help you save Clem. There’s also NO way to keep that boat in the end. It’s so, SO sad seeing people go into this, and worry about their decisions, and how it affects their ending or path through the game. Because there’s only one path, you’re simply decorating it with your dialogue decisions. You cannot have a game where your choices really matter, if it all ends in the same scripted way for every character no matter what you do. I still cry though, don't get me wrong.
@@Marlinkz_ oh no, I still love this game! It's one of my favorites to rewatch over and over actually -- the game is fun for what it is, and it's an interesting insight into TWD universe. Part of the problem is the... Sort of inevitability of death that the series has set itself up for, and so many zombie universes are the same. Whether it's people or walkers, there's really no surviving 100% in this universe, especially with no hope for a cure or anything like that to work towards OTHER than survival, and with death so high a likelihood ((as its the only thing the characters can really struggle against in one form or another, for a story conflict)), a studio with the budget it had for a game like this, is going to end up making a story that uses that inevitability to... Trim the fat, so to speak. Keep the game lean, with the essentials for a satisfying ending, which isn't the best for a choose-your-own-adventure storyline, which has HEAPS of bulk on it in terms of story events, missed decisions, and perhaps even some puzzles or action -- which would be necessary for a game like TWD, can't have THAT without action YK? I don't think this game is bad at all, my real point was that it was sad that so many TH-camrs, and people in general, played thinking they were getting a full meal experience of action, enthralling characters, and multiple endings where their choices REALLY changed things, and... In the end, the latter of the three, which should have been a fat juicy steak, was instead a patty of "how many unique dialogues can you collect?" Which isn't bad, it's still meat, and it's fun to see all the dialogue the programmers put in and writers came up with, but it definitely lessens the intended impact of the game when you realize the futility of the universe of TWD, and your own choices therein, when you can't save anyone except Clementine, and anyone else you TRY to save either dies, abandons, or betrays you. This game is near and dear to my heart, but the studio definitely ended up closing down for a reason, and I can't say their fake "your choices matter!" Gameplay wasn't part of that, since it was basically all anyone talked about eventually. ((That and later seasons of the walking dead were A. Not as good and B. Not as played or liked as much by the wider community)) TWD: Season 1 by TellTale was the absolute best season they made, the story is a heartbreaking masterpiece, with interesting, flawed characters, that sure, you can impart some wisdom on, maybe change them as people, and help them through the apocalypse, and I love it! It's at times philosophical even... But it all can get lost in the background when you realize nothing you did in this g a m e mattered, even when it was advertised as such, and you were so careful about your decisions, and the connections you made to the characters. People judged a book by its advertised cover, and even though the story was great and fun inside, it wasn't exactly what we had expected, y'know? I still love the game though :) I wouldn't say this discredits it either, just... Adds a slightly sour aftertaste to a sweet gameplay experience.
@@sillygooserose2955 technically they didn’t lie about choices mattering its just your choices are character driven and mostly affect relationships people simply misunderstood what they meant, this isn’t the only game that is like this take the life is strange series for example
@@Marlinkz_ "Technically" or not, if your game starts with the phrase "This game series adapts to the choices you make, the story is tailored by how you play," you're not going to assume the creators meant it only affects dialogue choices and relationship status with certain characters, you're going to assume that they meant the W H O L E STORY and GAME, changes with how you play. As in, the choices you make, put you on certain routes for an ending. It's not that players misunderstood what the game meant, it's the fault of the game creators for advertising that aspect of the game incorrectly -- and in fact, I'd say it was almost purposeful, with how they DO offer you decisions that you think WILL affect the game you're playing! For example, the Doug/Carley decision. You assume you're going to miss out on a chunk of the game because you didn't choose the other, it should encourage repeat playthroughs -- but you'd be entirely wrong in the assumption, because they BOTH die after offering nothing to the story, and after they're killed, they're brought up... Maybe once or twice? The relationship you form with them does nothing to the game, you could be rude, you could ignore them, and maybe you'd get some irked dialogue choices, but nothing in the game will change. Not to mention, if you tell someone "This game is character driven! Your decisions with the characters affects your relationship with them!" and then you tell them almost ALL of the characters you meet will die, and there's no saving them?? And that everyone, regardless of their relationship status with characters, will get the same ending? They're STILL going to feel robbed and upset by it. I have similar problems with Life is Strange (( game I similarly LOVE)) and how it handled the whole time travel thing. I thought it was cool as a story, and a super neat game, but the fact that it all comes down to one decision again? Chloe, or the town? Where either all that time you spent with others is wasted, because they die, or all that time you spent with Chloe is wasted, because you let h e r die. And even if you didn't side with Chloe for anything, you still end up at the same place with her, making that decision. They could have advertised TWD as "This game is character driven, the things you say affect your relationships, be warned." Or something, and people still would have believed that the consequences of your dialogue choices could do things like save the characters from their deaths, push the characters away, unlock secret paths that you only get through those relationships, and so on. No matter what, we come to the sad point where none of your decisions, relationship or gameplay, mean much of anything, unless you're purely invested in the characters -- and even then you're betrayed, because you can save n o n e o f t h e m. To the game, those relationships mean n o t h i n g... When they SHOULD mean something! I'd say at the very least, you should have been able to save characters, and in turn, form deeper more meaningful relationships with them. Especially Carley/Doug, Duck, and Katjaa. Duck and Katjaa's death was especially stupid, because no matter how fast you shoot, Duck still gets bit, and that is... Beyond unfair no matter what way you put it, especially because it doesn't serve much of a point beyond making Kenny a depressed asshole -- which pushes players away from wanting to help or side with him, despite the fact that he's one of the only characters that make it to the end. So... Even if this game WAS supposed to be character driven, and all about how your choices affect your relationships, it's falling pretty flat there too, considering... Everyone dies, and you cannot save them. The only people you can depend on to stick around are you, and Clementine. She is the only relationship that "matters." Edit: and just to preface this so I don't sound like a negative nancy or smthn, I absolutely LOVE the story of TWD a n d LIS. The characters in TWD DO draw me in, and especially Clementine and Lee's relationship, it destroys me dude! I love it :)) but if you look at it from a g a m e p l a y aspect, your decisions to help people, or your choices to be nice, mean nothing. Otherwise, TWD is genuinely one of my favorite things to rewatch.
Kenny's death whilst saving Ben is so much more impactful to his character compared to his death saving Christa. Saying that though, I'd have dropped Ben at the bell tower every day of the week
The wood on the roof where Kenny disappeared tho..... and they really made the guy who wqs dying try lifting a girl that was heavier than him with one arm.... telltale is funny 😁 love the series but some of these moments make me question everything 🤣 hope they make a show or smth in the future that is more realistic in these moments, would be amazing.
This hit me hard after playing it. Still hits. Back when I first played this I wasn't a divorced father for two little beautiful girls. After that TWDG just... Hits on a nerve I guess.
the strong stand tall and pull the trigger...the weak turn away and let their friends turn... cutting the limb off does work in the walking dead universe...but you have to do it RIGHT after your bitten...considering lee was bitten over half an hour ago...it's too late.
We didn't choose to let him turn really. My own thought process was that... Clem looked at this man like her surrogate father and I didn't want her to live the rest of her life knowing that she had to kill him. That would be haunting. There's also an extra line that Clem has that is even more heartbreaking; "Don't go." We can all relate to that.

I have seen this ending many times till this day it’s hurts no matter watch lee is a legend and loosing him it’s like loosing a big piece of ur heart shit always got me tearing up.
This part always gets me, anyone that does not tear up or outright cry with this(Or with what happens in RDR2 for all that matter) is not human, can't be
First Red Dead was more emotional with that ending than RD2
It's not that sad. I've seen worse.
I'm a simple person. I enjoyed the twist of who the kidnapper was and how they closed the season. I liked all chapters but I think my favorite was 1 and 4. I can't wait for the next seasons play through and I might buy this game myself now!
I loved how they closed the season and yes get it!!!
imo the stranger being, well, a complete stranger fits in really well with the games themes. Prevailing with the common theme that no matter what you do, everything is destined to end in ruins, forcing those left to live in the ashes.
im going thru a lot rn with family problems. my dad is super sick and in the hospital now. at this point idk what to do. im at home with my mom. my dad and mom are my rock. watching ur gameplays is one of my stress reliever, and as a gamer also, it rly means a lot to me. hope my dad will survive and recovers fast. i enjoy watching ur gameplays miss pretty girl. keep entertaining and inspiring us. we love you. hope u can play resident evil 7 soon:) ❤🙏
found your channel couple days ago, and i love this playthrough! definitely going to watch the rest of the seasons
Not sure why this video popped up on my feed (I watched another playthrough of this game but it was like 4 years ago) but a great genuine reaction and I'm sure your channel will grow fast. TH-cam algorithm, you got me this time.
40:52 Those were some pretty funny sneezes
This end gets me every time.... Beautiful...
As someone who watched the show I thought I would be prepared for this but I'm crying my eyeballs out
The series wasn't the same after the first season, sadly. The writer left and made his own campany. The other seasons are still interesting, but it just wasn't the same caliber imo. The writer made another game called 'Firewatch' if you're ever interested. Thanks for the playthrough! Nice to relive the memories from years ago.
Yea
All the other seasons were great wdym?
@@onehandedbandit8702after season two it got kinda wack
Dang i played firewatch it's a guy who also has problems with his wife it's more of a funny game i feel like but i have a weird sense of humour compared to everyone.
So s4 was trash?
Every single fucking time I bawl my eyes out like a baby, tears streaming down my chin like you just told me my family died in a fire
cried for a good hour over lee, the walking dead franchise just loves to break peoples hearts:,)
29:47 “u ruind that dudes face” 😭
It's that giant goddamn sip of alcohol that killed Christa's unborn child. That's canon for me now.
39:24 "if any walkers come they'll fall?" NOPE! If you saved Ben, that's where he dies instead.
Really enjoyed your playthrough, can't wait to see what you think of the rest of the series, on to Season 2.
I suspect a lot of content was added to the earlier episodes after I was no longer playing them
Watching this playthrough series was more impactful to me now than it was when I was playing, as my God Daughter wasn't even a hope in her parents eyes, and now she is just 1 year younger than Clementine at the start of the game, and her name (not originating from this game, they never played this game) is Carly
One of my fav games ever
BRO LEES DEATH IS SO SAD IM LJTERALLY CRYING SO HARD LMAO
RIP Lee, he’s number one in my list of top 5 best walking dead characters
Loved watching your play through of the first season! So many up & downs 🙌🏻. No matter how many times I play or see the ending I get emotional, Lee deserved a happy ending 😭.
I've watched that scene a million times, and it hurts every time
This will always make me cry.
Just now getting to see this, such a good game though! Lee, and Clementine's relationship is still one of my favorites from any game.
34:26 Oh, God...imagine Lee saying that. NOT THE TIME! lol
"Water off a ducks back...ohh....sh*t...sorry, Kenny.
And this ladies and gentlemen is how Lee…became a Leegend…
„You know what’s cool? Safety.“ -kastaclysm
It only happens if the player stops pressing the button during the quick-time event though.
Season 1 playthrough was great! can’t wait for season 2
I'll be honest right I absolutely actually did cry when Lee died he was my favorite twd character😢
That ending man..every time...
Lee started in hendcuffs as a prisoner... and ended in hendcuffs as a hero.
I JUST BALLED MY EYES OUT FOR A SOLID 30 MINS JUST REPLAYING THE ENDING. I CANT RN.
Found your Last of Us 2 reaction/review... so naturally, I had to see if you tackled TWD series. Got my subscribe for it. One of the most heart-breaking endings of a game.
One of my all time favorites.
chopping the arm off is right choice if you got bit in walking dead world, but you have to cut it off immediately after you got bit.
Lee passes out the same amount of times regardless of his limbs or lack thereof
Im a 23 year old dude and I sobbed and I’m not ashamed
I AM ENJOYING SEASON 1 SO FAR. Can't wait to binge seasons 2, 3 and 4. Great job!! ♥️
Did you ever see the post credit scene? Loved your play through🥺 Going to watch season 2
Right
Why did you pause the credits? there is an after credits scene with clementine
I enjoyed your play through, thank you. All I can say is that this is the best season of the series.
I love this game ! Such a good story, wait till you reach season 4 💔
Crazy I got attached to Lee to I definitely had cried at the end I feel you
You’re making me cry mannn, I’ve watched this loads but your reactions were good. 😁
Have really enjoyed watching your reactions to this amazing game
i cut my arm off!! now watching to see if the outcome is the same regardless! i did steal from the car and yeah same did happen, clem killed her captor whilst i was in a struggle with him , but she didnt shoot me, i watched her leave, as she did lee died anyway. loved watching you play too and your reactions, made me feel it all over again.
Great playthrough. Watch out for spoilers when looking up things they could have been different I'm season 1. Also I hope you saw the after credits scene at the end of this epsiode. It was pretty intriguing
There was a little post-credits scene, in case you didn't see it.
I didn't... I'll have to go back and record a little reaction!
Those last few glances over at Lee before she shoots him at 1:20:15 are so fucking sad 😭
I was 12 when this came out and I remember it was the hardest I ever cried for a game. Only other time i cried like that was when watching Marley and Me😅
43:40 KENNYS GONE?? this is so like crazy
The post credits 😔😔
I never cried when lee died until now 😢 like it’s like seeing Clem sad was getting to me man
This is only game to make me tear up at the end. More so as a father. Fucking love and hate the creators for this master piece! 😂
I still cry though, don't get me wrong.
this shouldn’t discredit the game and overall story though
She is the only relationship that "matters."
Edit: and just to preface this so I don't sound like a negative nancy or smthn, I absolutely LOVE the story of TWD a n d LIS.
The wood on the roof where Kenny disappeared tho..... and they really made the guy who wqs dying try lifting a girl that was heavier than him with one arm.... telltale is funny 😁 love the series but some of these moments make me question everything 🤣 hope they make a show or smth in the future that is more realistic in these moments, would be amazing.
lawwwd! she's getting emotional again lol
I mean yeah, what game do you think you're watching
Fun fact if you keep Ben alive Kenny for give him by Ben telling Kenny he never got to see his family die or never see his family since the breakout
This hit me hard after playing it. Still hits. Back when I first played this I wasn't a divorced father for two little beautiful girls. After that TWDG just... Hits on a nerve I guess.
I was able to go on the final mission with everyone, including Ben.
Ain’t no way you made clem shoot you at the end lol
the strong stand tall and pull the trigger...the weak turn away and let their friends turn...
cutting the limb off does work in the walking dead universe...but you have to do it RIGHT after your bitten...considering lee was bitten over half an hour ago...it's too late.
She so pretty for real. her smile makes me want to stay at this channel. huhu .
Damn the Ill miss you did it for me 😢
39:30 i’m so surprised!! no one fell?? kenny’s still with?? oh my gosh 😭
40:55 bless you
No no no the music what a sad moment and hear come the water works 😣😩😫😥😢💦 so sad but for all of them but you too i think watch you reacting moves me i we could 🫂 each other you ever need a tissue i got you those teers will come again but they will be always sad but your the best a good soul person
Oh my god dude im bawling my eyes out this is so sad
I've been through hundreds of tear jerking endings in movies, shows, and games. At this point, I was prepared for Lee's death so I didn't cry. It still hurt me though.
Okay?…..
you're so cool, you must be sooo proud buddy... pfft
You can tell that she hasn’t watched the walking dead show lol.. no hate at all by saying that lol. Love watching you play 😊
