I've seen a lot of Katniss' braid tutorials, but I just loved yours. I've been watching you for about a year or so. And I don't if it is because I like you or because the fact a book tuber did it, but I just love it so much is now in my favorites. :)
I love all the movie reviews and make up tutorials and tags, but I really miss videos that were really about books, and just books. I'm not hating on these videos, I just wish there was more of a mix. But you're definitely my favorite booktuber.
don't worry Sasha, the tutorial was fun and easy to follow, all the technical names are, well just names. And I think I deserve extra kudos for wearing a Katniss braid to the movie! I was the only one freaky enough to do it and I feel proud! lol

Yeah, I noticed that when she was addressing Snow after the events in District 8. Odd since fishtail braids can be a bit tedious to do, or I least I've found them to be.
Love this tutorial, it keeps it simple. Seriously though I have the opposite problem with my hair. Everyone says they want thick hair while I am over here creating rope on the side of my head. -_-
Great tutorial :) I think it's called french braid or so because in German we say "Franzosenzopf" and so I think french braid is the closest translation :D
Cute Girls Hairstyles did a video on this as well, with an easy trick on bringing the two braids into one braid or fishtail. I do what they did, except loosely with a hairband and just take it out without cutting it since I don`t have rubber bands. And I wish my hair would look good in the Katniss braid, but it`s too thick and the braids take up more space on the back of my head than I`d like them to and are about as wide as the length of my thumb (a little bigger). If I figured out how to make it look better, I`d wear my hair like this all the time.
I have ALOT of super thick hair, and i wear braids all the time, which looks like how you are describing them, and they look so pretty! Girls always pull on the braid to make it bigger. Even though I always like mine to look neat and clean. :P
Booktastic I agree, thick braids are great and I wear my hair in different types of braids almost every day, just this one in particular never seems to look the way I want it to on me.

but wait this is the braid she uses in the hunger games and catching fire, the mockingjay braid is different its called a fishtail braid, i did the braid when i went to see the movie last friday, but i found another tutorial :P u should do more tutorials of other hairstyles, i usually watch slivousplait, ladollyvita33(3) and now i started watching again cutegirlshairstyles :) when i did mine i check out slivousplait tutorial, and for the two braids in the side she did a fishtail french braid like i did, and the rest of the braid is a fishtail too, but the other tutorial i saw of cutegirlshiarstyles she did a normal french braid i think and the end a fishtail braid. but your its perfect too *.* its suck that she had to use a wig, but at least the wig could have had the same color of hair like the other movies, bc in this movie looked like black hair, yeah the game of thrones hairstayles are so amazing, i did a lot of them this summer :P
I think the two French braids in the movie aren't Dutch. I dont know. CGH did a lot of looking into it and they think they figured out what it really was. But I felt it was Dutch. I dont know. I like both ways tho. And another idea to get more volume in the hair is curl it first.
Actually the braid she does, and the original Katniss braid, is a Dutch braid. I've seen a video on how to do the braid from the first movie, done by the hair designer for the first movie, (not sure if she did the others), and she said it was called a reverse French braid or Dutch braid. Visible braid is probably just be another name for it.
Jane Doe yea you're right, I looked up a couple tutorials after this and it's also called a Dutch braid. It's just that I'm taking a beauty class and my teacher said that the dutch braid she was familiar with was different, but maybe she was just thinking about something else
That braid is called a dutch braid, and the other one which is not sticking out is called a french braid! I am super lucky to have curly/wavy thick hair naturally so when I do braids it looks so nice. I do hairstyles all the time, so that is why I am not saying I wish I could braid my hair like you because I can! Muahahhahahhahahahhaha!

This is similar to her mockingjay braid. The mockingjay one stilk has the two braids on the sides, but goes into a fishtail. I still love this video.
