@Tinker Smith have you ever powder coated plastic? I'm looking at trying to do my BA gear shift surround and where do you get your powder from?
No I haven't. The plastic might melt given that you have to heat it to 200 deg C. You would probably need to use the hot flock method as it would not be metal to establish the electric charge.

G day at around 1:44 when you touched the metal with the gun and created the static, is that necessary before you begin the process of powder coating?
No, not necessary. I just do it to confirm the system is on, running and I have a good ground.
