    Hi Jon. Good high level overview. I would love to hear some of the less common “tips and tricks” at each stage to help potters who want to make high quality pots. I know you have these in many other videos but I could see a follow on video for each stage that is a complication of your best practices. As I have been practicing and connecting with potters I am picking up things like how they ensure smooth bottoms, how to avoid drips on kiln shelves, etc. one video for each stage that pulls this together could be awesome!

    • @fritz5701

      you could see about me .......avoid dripping : if you have a glaze that drips but with a expression jou love , dont change the formular ...the expression can get lost .....you must yourself ...think up ! a method that dripping not reaches shelve , and try out by firing , maybe again and again............

    Just getting started in pottery. SOOO much to learn!!! You said your sale in May is central time. Where are you located? I'm central time also, Wichita, KS. Just curious. Love you and your wife's videos and pottery. Watched the luminaries yesterday. I'm digging those and feel confident that one day I WILL make one!! lol. They are beautiful! Too bad you didn't get home with all of the ones from your wedding that you made. That had to have taken a long time!!! Thanks for sharing instructions and your pieces.

    Jon, I love your videos and share them frequently. Thank you for producing them. Also loved the reverse throw snippet.
    As a beneficial addition, It would be nice to see the same sized pots thrown in each of the stages to see how much they have reduced in size after the bisque and glaze stages. When I first started, I didn't realize how much larger I needed to throw to end up with the right finished size. Do you do anything to measure them on the wheel for consistency?

    • @DaniSelph
      @DaniSelph 8 หลายเดือนก่อน +6

      It said basics which means those words you think are so big are easy to find in a children’s dictionary. You should try that instead of forcing the guy to spoon-feed you. That learning thingy he’s expecting you to do is an active process . . . That means you participate too . . . Go get the dictionary . . . It’s not on the chair under your butt . . . The app is even free . . . It’s lazy-proof just for you!

    • @danielleriley2796

      Yeah… that’s what the video is about, really. Did you think the video was 20 sec long? He was just saying that we are going to go from here to here. What terms should he use, if he uses dumb stupid made up feelings words them your learning the wrong things. Words have meaning, well they did until your feelings and those of a stupid generation got hurt because… grammar and a dictionary.
      So that beginning is called an overview. You watch that and then see if the video is for you by watching the video explanation. While the body of the video is the place for topic explanations and tutorials.
      It’s that easy. This isn’t a story or some shit it’s an explanation. So explanations have a brief overview of what’s being explained and then the actual explanation happens. It’s how English language phraseology works. Again language, grammar, dictionary.

    Do you have any recommendations for a teenager looking at buying a potters wheel? I took a class in school last year and loved it, but due to quarantine I can’t visit any studios and my family is considering the option of purchasing a wheel instead. I know it’s uncommon for a beginner to own one (especially at my age) and the situation would likely be complicated by the need for a kiln, but if you have any advice or opinions on the matter I would really appreciate it. I love your videos!

    Can you make a video further explaining Bisque-firing(I might have spelt that wrong)/first-firing?

    Hey man thanks for the vid, if I have a leatherhard/bonedry project that wasn't finished but I wanted to modify it do I just soak it in some water or do I have to pulverize it and completely start over? Basically how do I make it malleable again?
