She's just doing what she loves. In a generation where people post Instagram stories sitting in posh pubs, there's a girl from a billionaire's family doing this!!!! Yes, there's always a scope of improvement. But let's just appreciate her efforts. One who's appreciated does more than expected!!!

Yes as a classical dancer myself I too can assure that this Arangettam performance can be taken as per the Bharathanatyam standard for children of the age of 6-9...but her confidence and grace and a sense of innocence cannot be ignored especially considering the fact that she is facing a huge audience..and also her efforts must be considered. but yes truth be told she needs a lot of practice....

A lot of people are appreciating her for "promoting" the art form... But if you must promote something, you have to make it look good. I've seen people training for 10+ years and not doing an arangetram because they aren't perfect yet. An arangetram is a proclamation that you are ready as a dancer to teach the art you have perfected....This just promotes that if you have enough money you can buy knowledge, you can buy art, you can buy our culture.

    • @mrinevitable124
      @mrinevitable124 2 ปีที่แล้ว +83

very well put.. stating that a rich and famous person doing an art form even if in a substandard way is actually "promoting" it sounds like such a stupid and desperate comment as if we are begging people to see and validate our art form even if its represented poorly .. that too when the art form has existed for thousands of years and will continue to exist for thousands more ..the real challenge is protecting its essence through generations .. I consider the people who are calling this good coz of "promoting" it as worse than her dance and reminds me of this very relevant and true quote by Isaac Asimov - "“Anti-intellectualism has been a constant thread winding its way through our political and cultural life, nurtured by the false notion that democracy means that 'my ignorance is just as good as your knowledge.'” .. the thing to note is that people who don't have any knowledge about this dance form still want to express their opinion about it to get attention whereas the voices of much fewer people who actually know this art well are criticizing it and yet their knowledgeable opinions drown in all the noise around it.. I wish if people didn't know about something they just kept quiet and read what people who at least have some basic knowledge about it, instead of seeking attention with their useless opinions

As a trained bharatnatyam dancer, I can just say that she looks pretty and has a great smile, apart from that there is no grace or finesse which is associated with our craft. To people who are unaccustomed to our culture, it might be exotic but if you look through the glamour, I think you will agree. No offense, I'm not simply saying that b'coz she is rich or gifted....She genuinely has no talent when it comes to dance. Her posture, mudras and movement -it's all bad. It's not easy to give stage performance after studying for 8 years. The training takes further more years to give nice stage performance. After watching the video we can clearly say that she don't have much training. Anga shuddhi is also important. She is holding her hands stiff and body too. It doesn't give nice expressions. Should involve in the song. After doing Vidvath it takes 10 to 12 years of training Rangapravesha/ arangetram is done. It's not so easy to do. But here in Radhika's case money and prestige plays a very important role.

Everything is missing here.... please use your money to do publicity only if u can show some talent...now many people will say it's her life leave them alone... If neighbours son gets top rank first of all everybody relatives/neighbours feels bad but suddenly their mind become active and they starts telling that "what happens if he clears this examination, sharma ji son had topped in UPSC 😂".

‘First stage performance’ AFTER going through the entire curriculum of bharatnatyam!!!! That is what an arangetram is! NOT just some random first stage performance after learning for an year. The entire curriculum takes atleast 7 years if done properly (unless the student is a prodigy which Radhika is not). After an arangetram the dancer can dance professionally…they can continue learning and bettering themselves but by this point they have already perfected the basics and there is no more ‘she will become better with practice’.
Imagine saying a student who has failed 12th can go into MBBS because without going through the boards again because this was their first entry into a professional curriculum and they will continue to better themselves! Your comments about Radhika sound the same!
I had performed my arangetram with somebody who was 40 at that time! And she was as good (if not better) than me! Been an adult here is not the problem and definitely not an excuse for been a sub standard dancer and doing arangetram.

I see a lot of people posting negative comments that her moves are not "perfect". But this is literally her "arangetram" - debut. Debutants are not expected to be experts and she never claimed to be one. Besides, it is undeniable that her performance is having a positive influence on the younger generation watching. In an era where Instagram modeling is considered "cool", Radhika has done her part to make classical dance forms cool among younger people. If this inspires someone to learn classical dance, have fun and be active, thats a great thing.

I’m curious who her teacher was 😅 I’d avoid hiring them if I really wanted to learn dance.

Not up to the mark. She needs more understanding and learning of various mudras of bharatnatyam dance. No taalam no layam.

Please tell me what's wrong because I haven't learnt Bhartnatyam , not even B of it , so I couldn't figure out what's wrong in her performance.

This is far better than madhuvanthi or aishwarya danush dancing.

I am amazed that being that extreme rich Ambanis are preserving and celebrating the great Indian culture...
They are proud of this beautiful culture.
Mad respect to the Ambani Family 🙏🙏
While there are those Bollywood actors and producers who are spreading nudity and making fun of Indian culture and are adapting Western culture...
    They are just shit...

For people saying to appreciate her for promoting Indian classical dances...there are many many good dancers better than her who actually promote it! And does better mudras and dance with grace (for example radhakalpa ma'am). I think we shouldn't appreciate her for she is promoting our culture...people all over the world are promoting it why don't we support them??

Just cool down guys! It's only her arengetram. She is talented for sure at the same time, her guru has not corrected the basic mistakes. Hope she finds a better guru and prosper in Bharatanatyam. For all of us learning a classical art form, an authentic Guru is the blessing.
