Just watch all of Jamie Oliver's video's and you will see that he does have friends who also cook and since it is his show, he is allowed to have a friend on it instead of him.
Thanks for sharing! This was a great video - perfectly explained - didn't know they were called oysters but I always remove them and eat them myself! I also scrape lil' pieces and juices back into pan make the homemade gravy and I will save the carcass to boil it later and make homemade chicken stock then freeze for later uses. Thanks again - this will make things a lot easier!
13374A1 you sir have have serious issues and are a total weirdo, good luck in life, your going to need it, see you on the Jeremy kyle show soon, cheerio N tata
Is there a secret to keeping the skin on the breast once i cut it to nice slices. I feel like 80 percent of the time i can keep the skip on. But the other 20 perfent the skins falls off when i cut or gets out of place
while I do prefer to rinse after using a honing steel, it is different in that it is intended to straighten any imperfections on the blade rather than removing metal like a traditional knife sharpener/stone.
gotta say, he didn`t use the fork at all in the whole video, the chicken looks dry as everything, and this was the worst carving i have ever seen, also the title is wrong since there is no jamie oliver anywhere in this video.
Wouldn't have to sharpen the knife as much if he didn't use the sharp edge to scrape the grease back into the pan, he probably does that with everything.
I'm so confused - where's his hair??? I just did a Google search for "Jamie Oliver's hair" and everything is about his huge 2017 haircut? Is this NOT him? I feel like I'm caught between realities halp
Well, he is unemployed at the moment so maybe he's having to participate in his local 'Welfare-to-work' scheme lest he gets sanctioned by the DWP! ;) :D
Why would you call it "jamie olivers" when its some other dude hacking a dry chicken like there's nuggets of gold in there or something. As an amateur cook i need examples of GOOD cooking if i hope to ever produce anything of value. This is the blind leading the blind
he utilized the shit out of that roasting fork!
😂
Boy, Jamie sure got old...time sure do pass by fast.
Hehe this is not Jamie Oliver, it is his friend and part of his food group, Pete.
Michelle Smillie It is so Jamie Olliver or else why is it called Jamies cooking show??
Just watch all of Jamie Oliver's video's and you will see that he does have friends who also cook and since it is his show, he is allowed to have a friend on it instead of him.
+Michelle Smillie Don't spout such malarkey Michelle, that's clearly Jamie Oliver
Mike James the best part about this comment is the people that replied because the joke went over their head.
Wash knife after sharpening to get rid of fine metal shards.

Terrific video. He is not only a great chef but a great teacher. That is rare!
This guy’s energy is electric.
😂
What a mess!
Mark Jeffries 😂
I just said to myself "he's making a mess". I think his knife is dull lol The way he cut that thigh was just murder
One leg less.
Thank you. Best video on youtube by far.
That chicken looked as dry as a bone
Yeah that's one of the driest chickens I've ever seen. More dry than how my mother in law makes it!
13374A1 That's because she's got Chlamydia mate
13374A1 you sir have have serious issues and are a total weirdo, good luck in life, your going to need it, see you on the Jeremy kyle show soon, cheerio N tata
I like well done chickens like these. When meat detach/fall apart effortlessly from the bone.
Excellent, clear explanation. The best I've found.
What a sweet man! Thank you for showing us how to carve a roast chicken!
Yeah i'm sure he's not getting paid for it or anything either, purely out of the goodness of his heart
The chicken sure looks delicious! Thanks for the video!
I love it because it is not swamped out with a load of unnessary noise. in the background.
Shocking knife skills..Kept slashing at the bird.
that oyster tip at the end was gold
@Bobert Wiltshire I reckon they're the glutes, so should be a good quality muscle. Chickens are all tits and no arse.
Excellent fantastic thank you very much
The best by far
Thanks for the help, i can now cut the perfect chicken!
Same! So helpful
The disappointed look he gives at the end. lol
Its like "And you should of known that already. -.-"
have
great - thanks a lot!
Whats up with the haters? lol damn. I thought this was a great video. Really helped me out.
dirtyketchup
Ok. I disagree but that's fair.
Well, seeing as I need shredded chicken to be put into a different thing entirely, this works waaay better than a 'gourmet delicacy' chicken.
cronicjointpain : Probably Vegetarians And Vegans.
Yes, "what is up with the haters"? It was very helpful to me...Thank you Jamie!!
Many thanks for the upload. Very simple easy to follow. Came in very useful.
Very nice job
Excellent, followed along, Bob's your uncle, thanks.
Thanks Jamie. Awesome advice I will use tonight!
0:03 " this is my chicken there is many like it but this one is mine, without me my chicken is nothing, without my chicken i am nothing"
Great carving demo.
Well done ..... thanks for the input

James...great video...thank you...
Gosh, Jamie has aged significantly. Bless.
Very nice chef
Great job!
Jamie olivers channel, his initative, his name and his people. Rarely Jamie himself.
Iameverything That guy can't be Jamie Oliver, too old...
Thanks for the oysters.
Very good thanks
seems to me that there is quite a lot of wasted meat on the final bone structure...
What a little chicken!!
nicely done, thanks!
This was so helpful! Thank you!
I find this entertaining
Man. Few things better than a whole roasted chicken 🍗
I’ll stick to getting advice off the experts. Cheers all the same
“This is the bit not to miss”
while I do prefer to rinse after using a honing steel, it is different in that it is intended to straighten any imperfections on the blade rather than removing metal like a traditional knife sharpener/stone.
Let's be honest we came to see jamie carve a chicken and we got this ,1😔
Well Done!
Wow, Jamie Oliver has let himself go. Seriously though, fantastic video, just carved a chicken like a boss thanks to not-Jamie-Oliver.
Thanks alot, camera man for pulling out just as we want to see the start of a cut so we can not so easily see where it,s at......................
Rip chicken
That's a tiny chicken!!
What would we do without TH-cam hey
It's very easy 😂😂 make me cry 🔥
Didn't even bother to clean the knife after sharpening,HA some cook,As someone commented, Rather strip with hand probably do a better job.
in asia we eat the whole chicken, nothing wasted, not touching it so much
+Herlin Setyoningrum You eat the bones too?
+Jimmy Page we use them for broth
+Herlin Setyoningrum People do that everywhere. It's not just an Asian thing.
That is why you use gloves if you have to touch it too much.
We eat bone too. The blood inside the bone is delicious.
chicken is dry af
I thought poor Jamie had been going for chemotherapy when I first saw this. Perhaps a disclaimer in future?
The way he handles, and cuts with, a knife makes me think that doesnt have a hot clue what hes doing.
gotta say, he didn`t use the fork at all in the whole video, the chicken looks dry as everything, and this was the worst carving i have ever seen, also the title is wrong since there is no jamie oliver anywhere in this video.
He is not Jamie Oliver.
Way to go. Throw the knife shavings onto the chicken.
I bet this chap is fun at parties...
Easier said than done
I'm 21 and just now learning how to carve a chicken lmao
Same
Hey mum! Can I pick the carcass?!!!
Iain Duncan Smith?
Well, he is unemployed at the moment so maybe he's having to participate in his local 'Welfare-to-work' scheme lest he gets sanctioned by the DWP! ;) :D
Sorry, but the explanation was lacking.
He nearly minced that first chicken leg...
Ex Jamie you the man baby
Um this is some other Jamie Oliver. Not who I was expecting.
QUESTION: Why cut the chicken after sharpening the knife? It should be washed first to get rid of any small bits of metal.
Mmmm shrapnel chicken.
What made me think, is that the Steele isn't for sharpening the knife, its for straightening the blade...
Were Jamie gone did you cook him or are you down right click baiting us you...you .... fuzzy little fella!😂
Jamie Oldiver.
I’d make some wonderful chicken tacos out of the carcass. But I’m not sure first worlders are ready for this conversation.
@pogthescot yeah i can't believe it :o
Why would you call it "jamie olivers" when its some other dude hacking a dry chicken like there's nuggets of gold in there or something.
As an amateur cook i need examples of GOOD cooking if i hope to ever produce anything of value. This is the blind leading the blind
three cameras and we still cant see what hes doing
you didnt sharpen the knife properly...you only used one section of it instead of ALL of it
Poor little focker died twice for din din. Once at the slaughterhouse and lastly on the carving board massacre. RIP CluckCluck
He made a pigs ear of that didn't he 😂
Quite possibly the worst carving ive ever seen
David Johnstone I agree
Remove the wish bone before cooking.
How to cook a chicken to death then hack it to pieces
also this is PETE
Please stop scraping your board with the knife like that, use the back of the knife, 1 it sounds horrible and 2 it will blunt the knife
Pub cook at best.
This is how you destroy a chicken....
I've always taken the breasts off as you did with the second one, seems easier, faster and produces nice clean cuts of meat. But each to their own :)
Where's Jamie's hair?
how to _shred_ a chicken
Don't follow thus for sake of your fingers
But who are you?! 😂
Yep that was bad, looked really nervous.
Why did you have to sharpen the knife live on cam is this a chef thing lol
@henk102 the wish-bone
Looks like a fox attack
Looks like that chicken has been on a died for a while.
No wonder Jamie Oliver is broke.... he butchered the hell outta that.... no knife skills what so ever
