The sad thing is I grew up on a farm and the ice cream man NEVER came around. Now I live in the 'burbs and the ice cream man does come around in the warmer months. My sister and I grew up in the Bronx.....two little Puerto Rican kids.....we watched this as adults and nearly died laughing..... this happened everyday on our block during summer vacation..... word for word !! ...and don't get me started on Abuela's slipper.

Eddie is such a legend. He was thinking about coming back to standup but the pandemic derailed his plans. This has given him time to rethink what he wants to do. He was recently on the Kelly Clarkson Show and hinted that instead of doing standup he might do something on Broadway where he does some standup but also tells stories and does other comedy bits. That is a great idea. Eddie Murphy on Broadway. I will definitely go see that.

Delirious will forever be linked to my godparents’ cool as hell eldest daughter, who, in her mid twenties was given the task of house/babysitting my siblings and I for a week. (15, 13, & 8). I was dying from laughter, in retrospect, I know a whole lot of what Eddie was saying had to have gone over my head. Probably about 20 minutes into the VHS tape, she looks over at me, and says slightly horrified by herself: “Oh my god! I’ve corrupted her.” 🤣
As an 8 year old, I was smart enough to never breathe a word to my parents. 40 years later, and I still haven’t told them.
