I've watched this review about 3 time now. This is a great all around light set-up in my opinion. Great job of video and audio on the review also. Thanks for filling us in on these lights.
great demo! i'm in the process of getting a similar, but smaller, rig for my band. a 4bar with 6spot and 3 slim par 56s for front lighting and the obey 40. looks great. i've read that the sound active mode is a little too sensitive with the obey 40...any comment?
I did a little research after watching your video about 1000 times ;) That $1700 was well spent two years ago. I just priced it out in Canada for exactly what is in the video, it is $2552 + tax = $2835 with no cables, so over 3K. The 4 bar Tri with the stand is $735 each, 6 Spot $285, Obey 40 at $138, and Hazer 2 is $331. I got a starter kit the other day, Obey 40 and one 6 Spot for $478, so it's on... So one question, are those the stock 4 Bar Tri stands, so the 4 Bar is at 8 feet max? Are they high enough? Or did you end up buying taller stands for them?
Looks amazing! i have a 3 piece band, starting to play small club shows and looking for a cheap lighting solution. debating between the 6spot and 4play (not sure if you have any experience with or scene it in action)...Having a hard time getting a comparison, any idea how the 4play holds up to the 6spot? Thanks for your time!
I just bought the 4bar Tri, and I'm a bit disappointed that I apparently can't change the intensity/brightness of the lights with the included footswitch. I'm assuming I'll need a DMX controller to do this, and I'm looking at the Obey 10. Is this the right one, or should I look at something else? I'm pretty ignorant when it comes to lighting, sorry!
I thing the 4 Bar Tris is to bright and all over the place so you don't getting a good look at the 6 Spots that I was interested in at this moment. You should have played with more colors and intensity that would make the 6 Spots cut thru the 4 Bars.
finally someone with camera skills doing a dmx video without auto exposure THANKS!!!!

Can I do the same kind of chases with the obey 3. Sorry for my ignorance. Also are the chases activated by sound or are you manually directing them.
So what does a set up like this cost? Our band needs basically this exact thing. I am guessing it's like 1500?

Can the Spot 6 be used as just white spots? No dmx, just see the damn band mode?
It has a bunch of modes. I’m sure it can be done. See the band... go for the 4 bar tri. They’re wash lights while the spots are points of light.
