    Thank you, Asami! I've been trying to find ways to "acquire" the language through Comprehensive Input (similar to how a baby would learn -- without textbooks, grammar lessons and etc. Babies learn only via listening, observing, and having their parents talk to them nicely with a positive tone in their voice), and this channel does exactly it! Thank you! Looking forward to more videos from you!

    I’ve been using Duolingo for Japanese and it’s been good, but I feel like every time I have to go back to English to translate something or read directions in English I loose my momentum.
    It’s nice to learn Japanese IN Japanese. This is the first time I’ve seen something that does this at this level that a beginner can understand. Stuff like this is usually in an intermediate or higher level so it’s nice to see it here for beginners. Kinda like a Japanese Sesame Street :)

    • @cael8450
      @cael8450 4 ปีที่แล้ว +26

      I really wouldn’t recommend Duolingo. Especially for Japanese, or any other Asian language. It’s mainly for Spanish and European languages. Just a tip, because I want you to also learn fast!

    • @MrBobbyw121
      @MrBobbyw121 4 ปีที่แล้ว +16

      Duolingo is good for language learning. But you don't want to learn a language, you want to aquire it. Look up acquiring a language not learning it.

    Arigatou for this, it does remind me of Sesame Street a lot as another comment here has pointed out. This series does have its own charm and it is very entertaining and fun! Please do continue making videos as this seems like a great way to introduce japanese to a complete beginner in the language! You are a great sensei Asami-san, I had a lot of fun and also learned a lot from this. Mata ne!

    I can't believe I've been using duolingo for 3 months and the only words I recognized were Dare, No, Wa, Nani, and Watashi. Thank you very much, this is basic stuff that I really should haev known already, and now I do :)

      lol glad you like it but also don't worry-- "niwatori" is not one of the first words you'll need in Japanese. :P
