  • In this video I just wanted to talk about what actually defines a Pay2Win, Pay2Skip game and what other grey zones exist within the gaming community.
There is no doubt that Star Citizen is a kickstarter funding model that has continued until this day but alot of people think its a "Store Citizen" / Pay to Win game that turns many new players away.
In this video I wanted to give a deeper look at what defines a "winning" condition in games as Star Citzien is also not your regular MMO.
Im really curious to hear your thoughts in the commets!
For the SC Community: For those who might be interested, I'm planning in the near future to create an awesome org, for both solo and group activities. But I'm still fleshing things out I will update this section once there is something more solid. :)
Once again thank you for subbing and wathcing! You guys are the best!

What is there to win lol . Star citizen has nothing to win . It’s only a pre alpha

Super deep question. There are not 500 fools with the same assertions and none sense on TH-cam to click bait this yet. Well done!

You can play star citizen while entirely ignoring every single player in the game, no matter how full the lobby is, and no matter what job you're doing.

That's not true. There are always murder hobos and pirates that you have to contend with when hauling cargo unless I guess if you do low risk cargo.

No it isn't. Progression will come in the form of reputation which isn't sold on the website. Ships and money are not and will not be the progression they are only tools and like any tool you need the right one for the job and the man power you have.
Big ships can do a lot but only if you can man them with a crew, without crew you will be working very ineffectively and be an easily target for pirates or murder hobos. If you do have crew, then they need to be payed (even AI) so the profit margins stays about the same as the guy running a single seat or small crew ship.
Things like having to manually loading cargo or paying for it to be loaded will effect how much you can make an hour. So if you have a big ship its going to be more time consuming or cost more cutting into your profits per hour. Engineering game play is going to be another thing that will make flying big ships solo harder and cost more.

Its a definite no. Not only is earning money possible, its very plausible to earn all the ships in the game.

Its more like you can pay to save time

Star Citizen in its current is about having a good time.that is the win. The next patch rests your stuff so a big ship bought with real money helps you to climb up again faster in that sense it is pay to win.

Yes. 2 different players start out, ones has an a2 the other has an aurora. The person with an a2 has an advantage in every way. More shield more fuel more cargo more QT more firepower.
Bro basically said ‘the advantages associated with the pvp ships blocked behind the paywall are invalid because it’s reliant on skill’. Thats the dumbest thing ive ever heard. Also if the m2 loses to a gladius he is a new player, with MM it is so easy to win they are not gonna lose.
Im sorry anyone who says it’s not p2w is coping sooo hard. I’ve pledged my fair share, and I dont give a fuck if its pay to win it doesnt mean teh game is bad.

I disagree, regardless if the same is a “sandbox” and the objective isn’t as clear as say a battle royals game. While there are other forms of progression such as reputation and many missions that don’t necessarily require high end ships; that doesn’t mean one doesn’t incur a huge advantage in a lot of instances. The best example I could draw right now is between the vulture and the reclaimer. Your capabilities and efficiency in regard to salvaging are so much better.
I think your view of pay to win is a bit too literal in the sense that you need to see a clear objective to really classify it as paying to win. In my view it absolutely is you incur a big advantage and will likely incur even more as the game continues to develop as more content is added

to be fair though, for the reclaimer you generally need at least 1 other person, and once more game systems are in along with server meshing meaning you will run into more people more often, the reclaimer will probably need at least close to a full crew to not get pirated often and to work well via engineering. I think often your going to find that while it's not more profitable per hour, but the vulture will be a better "get in, grab some RMC, get out" ship so in the long run you will make as much if not more money for the same time as your not attacked or destroyed as often. this does not get into other things like higher running costs.
this also does not get into the part where components will likely be the progression, and buying a larger ship only saves time.
as the game is right now, it's largely pay to skip grind, though I do think in the future, it's going to be quite diffrent.

Pay to win... What exactly 🤔
There in no gameplay, no goals, no final prize, so, what would you win by paying money?

If You Are a pvp Fan, sc is pay to win, because the 2 best pvp ships F8C and F7C MK2 Arena just to Pay. F7C MK2 is the the most best ships. If TH-cam Arena Medium good pvp pilot TH-cam will win most pvp Fights with this 2 ships. If TH-cam as Medium pilot, in a gladius TH-cam will loose most Fights.
So in this case sc is pay to win. Without a f7c mk2/f8c in a pvp Fight, You have a big disadvantage at TH-cam side.
In all other gameloops SC is Pay to loose. If you buy in pledge store all the ships you want, you will loose the reason to Player sc.
For now, the only good content/reason to Play sc is to buy a bigger/better ship.
Now, Sc has no, conent, Story, good missions, good fraktion-gameplay, nothing. There is just stupid+boring pve bountyhunt, Salvaging, mining, trading...
All absolut boring and buggy? Why should someone Do all this Hard work? Because of a New ship.
You have all ships? You can switch off your PC. You dont need to Do this boring work... 😂
You finished the the game. Congrulations!🎉

I love star citizen and play it regulary but the game is definetly pay to win.
In youre video you compare ships that is close to teach other but that is not how it works.
what you have to compare is the biggest gap like if an aurora was gonna fight an ideris. cause some people wil start whit their startrer ship not having payed annything wile some will start by flying idarises and krakens.
and ye those ships are ment for multi crew but it dosnt mater if they play it solo cause the aurora will never be able to penetrait its shields alone.
to round it of i will say that i agree that depending on what you want to do in the game it might not mather to you that mutch but annything you can pay for that gives you an advantage over others is pay to win simple as that.

    • @MrSolLeks
      @MrSolLeks หลายเดือนก่อน +1

kinda right now, though there are so many missing systems, I don't think it will stay that way for long. Also, if an Aurora is going to fight an idris, that idris better have a full crew, or else it will lose / be a stale mate lol.

    • @thezipper359
      @thezipper359 หลายเดือนก่อน

@@MrSolLeks Ye dont think the solo idris wuld kill the aurora but the aurora culdnt kill the idris even if it tried.
But Star Citizen is a verry skill based game to so an aurora culd deffinetly shit on a hornet if the aurora pilot was good and the hornet pilot was bad to.
For me it mathers litte if people want to buy a bigger ship but my point was simply if you can buy somthing in game that can give you an advantege either in a fight or making money faster and annything in between it is by definiton pay to win.
