    What Camerons Car Reviews has to say about the 01 Explorer: Is America's best selling SUV still competitive enough to compete with new fresh competiton? Some might think so, the Ford Explorer was fully redesigned back in 1995 and 6 years later it is still fairly competitive. However, the Explorer is just now in the midpack. Power comes from a 4.0 L V6 or a 5.0 L V8 made into a 4-Speed Auto with the V8 or a 5-Speed Auto with the V6. Fuel Economy is okay rating at 15 City and 20 HWY. The Seats are very comfortable in the Explorer and are very couch like, however when turing corners in the Explorer it can get quite harsh.Is this enough to compete with the other competitors? Well we would suggest to wait for the 2002 redesign.

    Great SUV for the money. Really reliable. Last week my 99 explorer completed 180,000 miles on it.

    Best Ford truck 🛻 based SUV 🚙 EVER built. My forever favorite body style the second generation Explorer! I just picked up the red 1999 XL 2wd 4.0L v6 9 months ago on January 28, 2021 from one of my mom’s late friend’s house 🏠 who left it to me after she passed away October 1, 2020. Absolutely love it 😍! My super duper late Christmas 🎄 present 💝. It had 197k when I picked it up and it’s currently at 198k. Hands-down the one of the best generation Explorers ever built.

    I love the keyless entry pad, i got an explorer and use it all the time. I always lock my keys in the car when I go to the store or somewhere..Its a lot nicer than carrying your keys everywhere you go, then when you get back just put in the code and your in

    Back in 2001 you would stop at a light and see about twenty of these all around you, mostly driven by suburban soccer moms. Great car though!

    For these having the nickname "exploder" I still see a shit of these body style explorers on the road as well as the 3rd gen and the 4th gen, with a 4th gen model parked in my driveway

    I love my 2004 4x4 Grand Cherokee but years prior had a '96 Explorer XLT 2wd. I miss that thing. Drove so smooth. No major issues over 5 years. Traded it for a stupid BMW 323i which was unreliable.😐 This generation Explorer was beautiful.

    I love this generation of Explorer as well, but nothing about the interior quality of this gen is "decent" & the seats are comfortable-yes! but NOT lexus-like. :/

  • @krekmanski
    @krekmanski 11 ปีที่แล้ว

    is it reliable ? i want 1, but im terrified of the cost of running one, cuz i hate to be a slave to my car. is it strong enogh for bad countryside roads, does the interior rattle/squeek alot, is it quite on the mway, is it freakishly slow and underpowered?

    • @angelgjr1999
      @angelgjr1999 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yordan Krekmanski Its a solid truck and its surprisingly quick(the v6 sohc). I recommend it. Just do proper maintenance and she will last you a long time.

      These were the best ones! I had one for 15 years - still have it - and it works fine. (2000 Ford Explorer)
      And obviously, you can't spell or speak English.

    • @whyme3772
      @whyme3772 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      This is honestly the best generation of the explorer. 2002-2005 was okay, 2006-2010 was THE WORST, and the new ones now are also okay. But this generation is reliable. even over 20 years after they came out I see a fair amount of them on the roads. Especially in the south.
