    @ coyfish7 u can keep do this play from a pro set (2 rb split) and have a wing on the right, behind the TE move the wing in motion and use him as sort of a pulling guard too.

    You can do that, but if you do not get a good push on the play-side defensive tackle this play will not work. If you have an offensive tackle that can block a defensive tackle one on one then you can pull the the tightend and block the corner. If the defensive tackle is in a wide technique or sitting in the C gap the tightend must block down on him...this play takes an extra second to develop so there cannot be any penetration.

    We do not even block him. Corners usually play far outside anyway..plus they usually arent a primary run defender. I'd rather block a linebacker rather than a corner out in space..the corner will only make the play if he runs down our runningback after a 20 yard gain....or if the play gets spilled out side. He is no concern to this play.

    You can defiantly pull the guard as well. Have the Guard kick-out the DE and have the TE block down or work onto the second level or Cornerback,

      Youth Football Online why waste time when you could teach kids the basis to a real offense...like the spread ...

    • @YouthFootballOnline
      @YouthFootballOnline  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      We talk a lot about the spread offense. We talk a lot about every offense out there.

      Youth Football Do you talk about the 1921 Norte dame offense

      They ran a lot of unbalanced, direct snap, and wishbone/T formation stuff right? Every concept was built off of or was influenced by an older concept, so I'm sure we talked about the 1921 Norte Dame Offense indirectly.

      Youth Football Online that's great but I'm wondering why the triple option works so well at Georgia tech and won Colorado their only national title but didn't work for the powerhouse Monroe Township Falcons

    I take the TE out and put the WR next to the tackle and puts the FB behind the QB and two RB in the back feild witch leaves the 6 and 5 holes the outside in order for it to work the WR have to take thier CB if they come and block them to the outside witch leaves a hole for the FB and the lead RB so the FB blocks the outside LB and leaves the the lead RB with the Safty and he make the block its all day and that just two of our plays

    Thanks for a different spin on this. In all of our blocking schemes, we only account for the box defenders, I don't think I've ever drawn up a blocking schemes for the safety, just because I've found an open field block on a safety is tough to pull off since they have the best view of the play and are usually faster than a tight end. I would think it more effective to pull the tight end with the guard, so if we have trouble with the defensive end the guard gas someone to help clean up.

    Do you really switch the HB # designation for all your plays? This play is 45 Counter. So the opposite play would be called 36 Counter? I am putting together a wishbone for a youth team and I want to keep it 45/46 counter. Do you designate the HB getting the ball with every play call? How do the kids respond to that?

      Yes the opposite play is call 36 counter. The ball carrier number is always first. The point of attack is the second number.

    If that defensive end is any kind of defensive end and with speed, he's going to get in there and tackle you for a loss. Sorry.

      Which defensive end do you think will make the play? Play-side or backside? There is no way any defensive end makes that play. Stop it...

      Youth Football Online I apologize. I watched it again and for some reason, I didn't see you have the Right Guard pull and block that end, didn't see that the first time so yeah this play should work pretty good. I thought the first time I watched this, the end was not blocked by anybody, but you got The Right Guard blocking him so I apologize for not seeing the first time. 👍
