Not a Cov, Leeds, or Sheffield United fan, but god i would be disappointed if Gustavo Hamer moves to Leeds. Hes absolutely good enough to be a starter for many mid table teams in a top 5 league
Seeing Leeds fans price Hamer at no more than £7 million makes me seeth as a cov fan, he's so far beyond any other player in this league.

10m for Tom Fellows is genuinely ludicrous, but the backroom staff that deal with transfers at WBA are so clueless that I could 100% see my moronic football club accepting it. In the current market he's a £25m player with a ceiling exceeding that (no bias from me, I'm as critical a fan as you can get, but he is an exceptional winger and one of the best 1v1 dribblers I've ever seen at championship level, with a brain on another level to his teammates), but the muppets we have working for us don't understand the value of their assets and never have, so we'd probably accept 10m with a 5% sell on clause + a packet of Haribo Tangfastics.
No bias? £25M just bought the player of the season in Summerville. 20 goals and 10 assists. Remind me how Fellows got on.
@bapsmcginty4782 There's countless factors that go into the value of a player, and their overall ability is only a fraction of it. I'll name a few;
- Contract length for one. Summerville had 2 years left and wasn't going to re-sign, Fellows has 3 and is a lifelong Baggie and would re-sign
- Age. Summerville at 23 is 2 years old than Fellows at 21, giving the latter a higher development ceiling.
- English tax.
- Fellows is the shining creative light in an otherwise defensive side, and thus integral to the clubs ability to score goals. Summerville was part of a stacked side for this level, so his loss isn't as much of a hit to Leeds' offensive output as Fellows would be for WBA.
- Summerville wanted to leave to play at a higher level and thus giving Leeds no wiggle room to say no, as its better to sell a player who wants out instead of keeping them around. Fellows is happy and in no rush to get out of the door.
There are more, but you hopefully get the picture that raw ability isn't what dictates transfer fees. Besides, have you actually watched Fellows? There isn't a single fullback I've watched him play against that hasn't had their ankles snapped multiple times per game. He isn't "showy" because he is just a lad from the Black Country, but he is an incredible chance creator with an insane talent for 1v1 wing play (still nobody knows if he's left or right footed). There is no bias, despite what you might think. Just watch him and see for yourself.
Edit; oh, and if it helps, I think Leeds got shafted on the Summerville sale and should have gotten more for him. So 25m is an undersell in my mind, meaning Fellows for 25m is still a credible evaluation.

Under old ownership we’d have sold him & the club would have seen none of the money.
Rumours are the club are asking for 20m which I think is what we should be asking for at this stage with a large fee up front with a good sell on clause. Selling him now would be so stupid, he’ll be worth way more in a years time
