Why are people so confused or annoyed by the lyrics? They’re incredible, they’re telling a story of what seems to be a bad trip and it’s done so well! Amazing music and a dark Sikth-style story behind it - perfection.
These bros are still making tunes ? I remember when I was 16 jamming out to these dudes. Good times. Nice to see music is made by them still Love their screams always have.
This song is so damn awesome, and has me really stoked for the new album. I saw you guys with Periphery over the summer, and I never heard of you before. You blew me away, and totally made the show for me. No offense to Chon and Toothgrinder, but you blew those guys out of the water. Come back to the states when you put the new album out!
Ah, now I get it a bit better. I think it's about a recurring dream, and upon waking the narrator realises it represents his frustration with the world surrounding him. The lyrics confused me at first but now I really enjoy it!
Yes! Keep it coming. Hope I can finally see these guys live when they tour after album release. For those bitching about the lyrics, have you ever listened to any of the lyrics from, oh, EVERY OTHER ALBUM they've put out? This is probably one of the most fluent songs lyrically that they've released and it likely portrays whatever story they were inspired by quite well.
For anyone who is in fear of the lyrical content of this album, have no fear; Mikee damn delivers some of his best yet. Riddles of Humanity, Century of the Narcissist, and Ride the Illusion are just sheer brilliance. Plus, Mikee's spoken word/poems (that's right, there are three here) are just as thought provoking as ever. Can not recommend this album enough to any Sikth fan and to any fan of music in general. The more I listen to it, the better it grips me.
All these comments about the lyrics, did you not listen to their first album? Some of the lyrics on that were fucking weird. Music was still amazing though.
no.... they've had a different second vocalist. He's not a good fit for them. Shame really because It's a great song apart from the shit lyrics. they tried to do something different but it doesn't work.
this is what happens when you wait until you're in the studio to write lyrics... But lets be serious all their lyrics are weird as shit so it doesn't phase me at this point. I really enjoy this song though.
Love it! both songs are growers and nollys mix is a bit of a grower but give it ago it sounds amazing after a few listens in treated studio with yamaha hs8's!
Ok, so I was a lyric/vocal hater too. I listened to it once and laughed, and went to listen to some old school. Im sitting and chilling to Such the Fool and suddenly, "Ooooooooooooh... Okay." suddenly I really like this and No Wishbones a lot.
Pat O u missed em. they toured just before the release of the new ep opacities. saw em in detroit... they were supporting periphery, but should've been the headliner.
They came through with Periphery last year. It was hype, I have some cellphone video, and some more unlisted cause I never rewatched them to get the song lol
Going to live with it for a week or so. No wishbones was kinda underwhelming on first listen too but it's grown on me a lot. Such high expectations can screw with initial perceptions like a bitch. Still think the new guy needs a better balance in the mix to bring back the vocal dynamic of old.
The dynamics still there, it's just both vocalists now have ranges that overlap. A little bit of attention and you can differentiate between Mikee and Joe Rosser pretty easily.
By the way I'm pretty confident the lyrics are based on a nightmare or kind of evocative of a strange vision. Personally I think it's brave and original to go for something a bit more surreal like this, love it.
First 30 seconds, HEAVY. Then, wtf are the lyrics for a bit. Then by 2:00 I'm like, fuck yeah! Also, if Nolly has mixed this then it'll sound fucking great. Probably just TH-cam compression. There's NO WAY Nolly would leave drums sounding that flat after the absolute fucking gold he produced on Periphery's III.
Hey Ho sikth Fuck yes I wish the last part was a chorus because it's so awesome I go back in the track to listen to : WAit in light of day but nothing seems.......
I'm gonna love SikTh music no matter what, BUT yes, the fact that the old vocalist isn't part of this project right now is a hell of a bummer. Nothing can top "Wait for Something Wild" album back in 2003... - Kenway
New singer Joe Rosser, is WAY better than the old guy. Just listen to him on the album by Pin and hisz new project Aliases "Derangeable" it is fucking amazing and every bit as good as Sikth. I do not say this lightly as they are one of my favorite bands.
@@gmyersgilmer9470 Sikth coming up first does not change anything about the similarities to "Extraneous", in music it is not important who did something first
Frobisher Rubbish In that periphery May have never written the song without the Sikth influence it’s obviously not true it’s meaningless. It does not take from them being a good band, it just adds to the merit of the legacy Sikth has created. They said so themselves when I saw them together in Atlanta 2016.
If it really did not matter then I could take your logic the other way and say it does not matter that it sounds like Extraneous from the perspective of Sikth alone being considered. So your own logic in comparison is exactly like my further reflection. Of course, we all have influence and what matters is your personal connection. So, I respect your view but all of them have some merit in concept. That may not matter in your subjective view. Sikth was important in Peripherys development and I am glad we have both bands.
Yo I really relate to this song cuz I always have these sort of vivid yet hazy nightmares for some fucking reason and it can make sleeping through the night difficult unless I have sufficient weed to suppress the dreaming. Wandering through dimly lit coridors that make no sense, frozen when I need to run or fight, I am not in control of the dream, and typically I'm not lucid enough to realize its a dream and believe the nonsense going on so I'm fucking terrified even though it often seems stupid in retrospect, but while in the dream I was holding on for dear life just trying to survive the night. And then I wake in the morning disoriented and nothing feels quite real until I've had my first cigarette of the day. I am told by my family that I am prone to flailing around, muttering, and even crying out loudly in my sleep. I have no memory of the things I'm told I said, but apparently I yell "Fuck" and "shit" and "no" a lot sometimes like I'm being chased. At the very least I toss and turn, I must be heavily sedated with an assortment of downers and weed to have a peaceful night's sleep. ironically, I sleep like a rock, I am very difficult to wake (apparently my sleeping body responds quite violently and has lashed out and struck people trying to wake me up) mostly immune to external stimuli like loud noises or vibrations or even being prodded. Thunderstorms and wind do nothing, I could likely sleep through a tornado or earthquake, and if there was a fire I would flee in my sleep without actually waking up completley. Without being remotely conscious I violently resist most attempts to wake me. I have destroyed several alarm clocks. I do not know why this is. Resembles PTSD nightmares but I don't think I've been that badly traumatized and I have had these dreams since my early childhood, for as long as I can remember. As a younger child there were more good or neutral or interesting, or at least excitingly scary dreams mixed in with the gloomy doomy wandering ones and shit, now they have mostly taken on a uniformly cruel sort of brutal dullness that's worse than any monster. Fuck if I know what's wrong with my brain, my doctors certainly don't.
blah blah, i'm with you. Next they'll be soothing us with a no wishbone. Sorry, i'm irritable and actually remember what Sikth was. Including how shit they were talking between songs. I had my heart here, glad it was plastered so vivd. Did you notice? Out patient anyone?

Plus the fun on watching what I can't even comprehend is my body stumble around with no mind and 0 concept of what or where the fuck it is from some weird ass perspective that's too foreign to be enjoyable. I'll never get why most people I know wouldn't rather just get some coke and have a good night instead I'm trying to return from basically hell and feeling just gross and dysphoric. Closest ill come to that shit is potent mdma or ketamine. Those are a okay. Sikth is like drinking a new whiskey/scotch. It tastes weird at first, but the more you drink it, the better it tastes.
This is the most perfect analogy I've ever read.
Acquired taste, basically...
The moment I first heard them they became one of my favorite bands. They give me Korn vibes
Fucking right analogy
@@micahpetillo1996 I get more of a System of A Down vibe from them.

That slow near the end caught me off guard, daaaaamn
My conscious is fermenting within this song.
In a world that seems estranged.. nothing seems the same :)
Sikth is for people that grew up listening to system of a down & Korn then had a baby & made Sikth & I'm here for it
You have no idea. 😂😂
More Sikth! This is amazing! *counts on fingers* Aw man, 2 months til the album, I'm gonna have to freeze myself .
The guy in the lyrics and the guy editing this video are the same guy aren't they?..
I could not make it without this band and this record!! If you ever come to California pick me up please!!!!
Holy shit. Didn't even know there was a new album coming out and just stumbled across it. So pumped!

Pip Stanton first time here :v
Pip Stanton technically it is both. If they're appealing to the "most used" English language listeners, then American English is the natural choice.
Very reminiscent of 'The Scent of the Obscene'.
Let's give credit where credit is due. Adam Nolly getgood. Legend
Is this a song about winter compared to the summer? Have patience. Take vitamin D. Summer will be back.
damnnn the tempo changed slowly, this is too good !!!
