What other philosophies do you think the original Matrix Trilogy drew upon?

First of all, thank you for all the work that you had to make this. It clear and precise.
Matrix 4 has completely mess up with my head and this video is helping me to understand the movies in a deeper way.
I'm trying to put words and understanding for all the things that I felt watching the movie.
Hopefully we will discuss this, after I find my own way to explain it, and if you want it, of course.
In any case, thank you so much for sharing this video.

Of course! Feel free to drop your perspective in here! I feel Matrix 4 was a decent addition (I'd give it 6.5/10), though it's by no means Matrix 1.

Honestly…. I don’t think I’m going to make it at this point.

Is there any eastern philosophy in The Matrix series? Intended or otherwise.

There are lots, and in fact it’s the backbone of the trilogy. I’m going to make a video on that soon 💪

@@DrJonTam about Rene Descartes. I never heard of this. I'm not very familiar with the philosophy. The Plato's cave was the most common reference.

@@pavelb7036 they are, that’s why I scripted it this way. Literally can use different philosopher’s work to slice the same pie.

    • @DrJonTam

@@pavelb7036 yeah, Plato’s cave is the most common one for sure. Lots of shows have used it like Truman’s Show, Total Recall, etc. All of these philosophies question the nature of reality and perception.
