Uncovering a huge moon snail buried in sand

  • Huge moon snails live in sandy sections of our beach, visible usually just at the lowest tides of the year. We found one, carefully uncovered it to study it, and placed it back on the sandy ocean floor to keep it safe and well hydrated. Filmed on the shores of the Salish sea, in North Saanich, British Columbia, Canada, in July 2014.

she didn't drown the eggs. the moon snail was not in a crib. he was buried in there cause the tide was there. so she kinda saved it

Little Miss Grizzly Bear to show her kids the wonders of nature at an early age, pretty important stuff. Plus the snail is fine, it has a shell and a pretty muscular foot. I doubt dropping it slightly on the soft and wet sand will do much harm to it.

It’s fine. If anything she helped it and it seems like she knows what they are. She also said that the tide has gone down and won’t be returning for a while, so she is moving the snail closer to where the water has receeded.

But the snail was perfectly fine where it was at. It had more than enough water until the tide came in...this is how it's been done for ages but they treated it carefully. The only issue ive seen with relocated shelled animals are the feckin seagulls....bastards all of them
