Thank you so much for this video! I got my lab puppy at two months old with the intention of training for us to be a Therapy Dog team. He's currently 16 months and we're doing quite well in training and preparing for this. Along the way, I got more and more into the idea of training him to be a service dog as well to help me with my EDS/dysautonomia/PTSD-related symptoms.

Very informative and thorough presentation, thanks so much! 🙏🏼
I trained my own medical alert, service dog, @DrSmallzMD, and relate to so many things you said, the unexpected increase in social anxiety being the most burdensome! Why must every hater mumble a nasty comment under their breath, loud enough for you to hear, when they walk by?
Everyone asks me how I trained my dog, as if I can answer them in a few sentences. 😂 Needless to say, it’s years of time, effort, and money. Training a service dog is a labor of love… and definitely not for everyone. But, for me, I wouldn’t trade my best fur friend, Dr Smallz, for all the money in the world!

I’m way too sick to train a dog. I’ve been in this room 99% of the time for eight years. I have an emotional support dog that has cancer and months to live. I can’t imagine not having another dog, but can barely get him to the door for potty time. I might have a little life if I had a service dog and a power chair, but I’m definitely too poor to buy them, and too sick to train a dog.

    I don’t see “notify me”?

Directly above, on the lower right hand side of the graphic. Premiers in 18 days, then to the right is a Bell symbol with a Notify Me button.
