Elanus:
MATERIALS: 8.5 in. x 11 in. paper - US Letter size
DIFFICULTY: Intermediate
THROWING TIP: Give Elanus a gentle to medium hard toss. It will glide gracefully for quite a distance.

I am a decent paper airplane folder and I found this plane a bit hard on the first few tries but it became very easy after a while and flies so smoothly. Definitely worth learning. I give it an 8/10

She is beautiful and flies very smoothly. The big wings are made for the wind. They reflect the ground with the big wings so they can ascend up.
hi kyle, when made elanus its was so cool, when i threw it for the first time it did a back flip and came back to me! i love your glider planes, especially cirrus, he was epic! loves your videos, would love to make more of your gliders

One question: For folds, similar to the one you're starting at 4.05, do you think placing a thin metal ruler between the two points the fold goes between, (then start folding against the ruler before removing it and finishing) could be a help for beginners to get everything more presise already on first attempt and avoid what I experienced - bended folds (more like a slight arc than a straight line).

Good morning Kyle, another great model, but personally I think this one was harder (for me) than the PSI trying to get the creases at 5:25 and the duplicate on the other side was very difficult (but I think it's just the paper I use) but I remember that you always say that symmetry is more important, so i try to make sure the other side is as close as to the first as possible ... Anyway plane folded and looking good, thank you again for sharing, have a great day
Folding long creases directly into a corner can be really difficult, so I'm not too surprised by what you're saying. In that step on Elanus, it's really not a big deal if you miss the corner slightly. Symmetry is definitely more important. I think Psi Wing is harder overall, but that might not be the case for everyone else.

super glider the best you can find, i searched a lot for a nice glider but all i found was planes that fly very far but this is a beast of a glider

When you fly tested Elanus it flew straight and mine did too but on the side were pockets but it still flew the same. I love your paper airplane ideas and I do them for almost hours.

It flies soooooooo well and is one of the easiest planes that I have ever folded. (I have folded nearly every single plane on your channel) The best thing about this plane is IF this plane even crashes into a wall it either does a flip and continues on it's path or even cooler, it turns around like Boomerang 2 and comes back to me upside down!!! And one more thing, this plane is very accurate, so on your website, I would prefer if you gave it 6-7 stars instead of four for accuracy.

The first time I threw this paper airplane, it crashed so I added up elevator, and then when I threw it again, it hit every single wall I threw it at without going up or down, which is really good for flying indoors! Just got Astrobrights paper recently and it looks so good!

What about A4? Is it usable for an airplane like this?
A4 Paper will definitely work. I think the only difference you'll notice is the shape of the flaps that form the nose. The plane will still fly really well despite the small difference there.

Am i the only one that can't get the flaps at the end to work out, they dont lock together. It is not because i'm using a4 paper, because it worked out the first time i did it.

Hi there! I'll help you with your issue.
1. You plane's wings might be facing downwards try and make fold them up just by a little bit.
2. Give it a nice gentle straight throw at shoulder level.
3. Throw it in a giant gym/hall or outdoors to maximise it's distance.
4. Is your paper 8.5 by 11 inch or is it A4? It needs to be 8.5 by 11 inches.
5. Is your plane symmetrical?
6. Don't rush the plane, good planes take surely more time.

I tried this with an A4 paper, and it worked!
The best thing about this plane is it’s glide ratio. The worst is it’s accurate because you can see it curve to the side at the end of its flight

This plane performed perfectly and was truly beautiful when flying but I found the folding to be easy but extremely stressful and tedious with some fold causing the whole plane to deform when trying to correct it. It’s an amazing glider but I am not sure why some folds would either wrinkle or rip the plane but it is most likely my fault. 9/10

But the good thing is, is that it flew very well and one of the best paper airplanes i've ever had. Thanks for the amazing videos and keep up the good work!
Edit: [Also, i think mine wasn't the best because i used printer paper, (it was the right dimensions) but i'll never know.
And you have some competition (John Collins) you should to figure out if you can make a world record paper airplane, but im sure you won't have a problem with that. No pressure lol
