1000 points in your age 26 season is insane to fathom, but it's happening. And I wouldn't be surprised to see 164+ point season in one of the next few.

He's going to be 27 in January, and he's not going to score the 150 points he needs to reach 1000 before that. So, yes, it would be insane, but it's not going to happen. So he has four to five years of maximum productivity left. There's no guarantee he will hit 150 points in a season again, or get injured. Once he's in his mid thirties his numbers will decline at a Crosby like rate. It's going to be difficult for him to even finish his career as a top ten score lifetime.

You missed how he varied his speed, rather then just go 40mph all the time. That is a huge factor is his increasing totals.

He's changed his release point all the time now. He has goalies constantly second guessing if it's going to be a pass another deke or release a bullet!
His ability to keep incorporating other players skills into his game is one of his most important attributes. If he incorporates Bedard's shot while he's still in his physical prime, the league is finished.
You saw a lot less of him simply run and gun opportunities like he was doing in '16, '17. You saw the rest of his game start to catch up with his foot speed and that naturally made him less reliant on his outright speed. Which is scary because perhaps even if he isn't as fast outright as he was in 2017, hes still the fastest player in the league with puck possession. He's transitioning beautifully into his peak with a well-rounded game.
Switched stick curves as well, went from a squared off p29 style to a p90tm
lots of sneaky/weaker/slower low wrist shots that just take the keeper by surprise.
reminds me of soccer where, all things being equal, good low shots are harder to stop than good high shots.
The past couple years of summer hockey spent with Matthews and Thompson has made pretty big improvements in his shooting and it shows
