Sorry if I've mentioned this before, but I got an NH-D14 because of your recommendation in about 2011. I upgraded to a 5900X over 2 years ago and Noctua sent me the AM4 mounting kit for free. It cools my 5900X fine and I never thought my D14 would still be going strong over a decade later ...
Many reviews have shown that the NH-D15 still holds it own on the AMD platform and also on the latest Intel CPUs when combined with a contact frame so that it makes better contact with the IHS.
i dont like that they compared it on a 9900K instead of 12900k/7950x/5950x... different platforms give widely different results and people wont buy brand new 99$ air coolers for a 5 yo CPU...
I actually prefer that the corsair one is just bare heatsinks. I think the covers/fascias on the other air coolers make them look a little tacky and too gamerified
Should be cool to make an asmr sound test when it comes to noise level. Small room at your place , low lights and record with a proper asmr mic at 1 meter distance from a closed cage.
Your graph was a little too easy to follow, I wish you could have crammed a few more coolers on it & perhaps spread out the air coolers a little further apart 🤣
100%. Or the phantom spirit which is the upgraded version of it and costs the same lol. Imo if you are spending £100 on a cooler go aio like the lt720 or ek nucleus 360 for the extra performance. I myself use the ak620 dark
@@kleinkalibar7486A few questions: Are the included fans built to last? Is there any warranty for broken fans? Is there any coil whine or risk of it developing over time?
@@Hydra_X9K_Music The Evo is literally the Phantom Spirit with higher quality fans (220 g Vs 135g) and a higher rpm. No idea if there is a specific warranty for the fans, but I am in the EU so everything has 2 years warranty at least. There is always the risk of coil whine with every fan I assume but why are you worried about it with the thermalright and not with a be quiet cooler? The Thermalright cooler get rave reviews everywhere and are high quality but obviously the company doesn't have the marketing power behind it that the big players have. Just give it a try, the phantom spirit costs 35 Euro in the EU, even if you find that it is complete garbage you didn't exactly spend a fortune.
I thought finally, the corsair a115 vs the DR Elite.. Wasted 5 minutes of my life to then see..... a 9900K. In 2024. Seriously Tim? Any modern cooler can tame a 9900K or 10900 or 11900k for that matter. No one buys those CPUs anymore. What a pointless video. A shame.

give corsair the thumbs up for doing so well on the low fan speed but the Dark Rock just looks so much better
Thermalright? Frost or Phantom Spirit? These 2 should beat all your 4 candidates.
The D15 had a great run!

Nice comparisons Guv!

Dark Rock Elite is just too cool to pass up imo. The magnetic cover is fun to play with xD
The true king of air coolers right now is the ID Cooling A720, it can handle up to 300 watts power of cpu.
Really "cool" comparison. Keep up the great work
Can you do a test run but with latest Gen of CPUs?

Did you mention... undervolt? Now why does that remind me of a certain promise...? ;)

Didn’t even know Corsair released a newer air cooler then the A500
Why on earth are u testing these coolers with old cpu??
Bequiet dark rock elite nice.
why is there no comparison with normalized noise?
What about for a 7950x
hi mate abit off topic but is the undervolting guide coming out im looking for the z790 strix.
Hey dude. It will yes once the vendors are happy. The delay is out of my hands atm sadly
Thank you keep up good work@@OC3D
Im using noctua nh-u12a im thinking getting aio cooler rgb corsair 360 rgb
it looks like it blocks the first pci slot
Test it with 7950x Tj max and 14900k 250w
Your graph was a little too easy to follow, I wish you could have crammed a few more coolers on it & perhaps spread out the air coolers a little further apart 🤣
i wouldnt buy any of those, or the noctua now. thermalright peerless assassin at £35 in the real world is one of the best coolers

Just got me the Phantom Spirit EVO myself. Half the price, same performance as the "big players" mentioned in the video.
@@sol-hb8zg even with aios its hard to ignore thermalright, 360mm all rgb coming in at 1/3 of the cost from cosair, nzxt ect

imagine the 14900k absurdly frying these aircolers, showing which bottleneck is hotter.
@10:40 i know that look .
Cooler Master V8GT, omg I might even buy it when it comes out , without even having a computer to use it.
COOLER MASTER IS KING.
Cooler master is the best m824
Why would you test new coolers with a 10 Year old CPU? Who upgrades his cooler on a stone-age old System?

a 9900K.

Noctua will most likely come back and beat the best by 1 degree for double the price.
