Love your videos please keep ,making them I'm an east coast surfcaster landed my first yellow tail kingi in 2020 on a casting rod 10kg and 93.8cm and a few days ago landed my first ever sting ray it was a massive short tail ray it even did an aerial at one point
Cheers CT for the support 👍 That's a good king on light gear you must have enjoyed that battle 👍 yep rays can be fun and they do get a little air sometimes. Tight lines
What an awesome way to start the lockdown by watching your vid while having brekkie in bed. Great outcome for a shitty situation! Cheers for letting us share the dream through your lines bro! 🎣
Cheers cb The Harbours work really well this time of year but also the east coast line holds plenty for the taking as well. The east coast bays is holding plenty of numbers around the 12-16mtrs. Tight lines
Hey Jason! I recently gotta 4wd and am aiming to do some surfcasting on muriwai beach . My dad says not to take my truck there as the black sand is a pain what do you think about that ? Also living in west Auckland I feel like muriwai s the obvious place to go do you have any tips for taking my truck there ? I would greatly appreciate any advice thanks love your videos !
Hi HP Not to sure what he is meaning black sand being a pain maybe being more iron? any sand and salt can be a pain you just have to really clean under it after being on there - I like to drive a little bit up through the fresh water stream just before coming off the beach and then the best thing to do is stop at the car wash cleaning place in Kumeu before it it dries and settles. I have always had under body protection work done on my trucks due to beach fishing it really does help. Beach driving is pretty bad for cars. Best time to drive the beach is a couple hours after the high going out then back off around half tide coming back in or sit out through that tide - this will allow you to drive the harder sand. Not sure if you have seen this vid but it may help you out for your Muriwai adventures - you also could look further South all the way to Whatipu for places to fish, plenty of spots to get a line wet. Cheers for the support and tight lines

Respect for the effort you put in with cold water/weather. Are you fishing open water or a harbour?
Cheers cb
