I saw him 4 times and got his autograph. Voice from another galaxy. Melted me with that "Vittoria" that went around the world. He was so awed by my friends tears he reached out and touched her wet face. That an international star would care so about us teens. Such a nice man too.
It's really rare to see combined in an opera singer such an impressive voice and stage presence. It must have been a very thrilling experience to be in the theater during his performances.
His voice is carrying me so far away... It is beyond all human understanding, and he did not spare his divine gift, and stopped when felt he could not be superior...
The Turandot footage is from 1970 (Live, Macerata), while the audio is from 1966 (Live, Met). However, the audio (In questa reggia) from the same 1970 performance has recently appeared on TH-cam. It's amazing.
Why are they singing it one semitone higher in this 1966 audio? Corelli hits a high C# here, pretty rare coming from him. The high B in his first "gli enigmi" line is also outstanding.
What does being able to move a piano with one finger have to do with vocal coordination. I guess by his theory we should pluck people out of the mr universe competition and turn them into singers. Size and strength mean nothing if you dont have the proper vocal coordination
Yeah, but look at MDM. He wasn't as big as Franco, but had a more powerful voice. It doesn't matter the size. Or Robert Merrill, he was so small, but had a descent voice. There are probably more examples to this.
Not the range though. Franco had the power plus range, and tremendous endurance and control. Del Monaco never had Corelli's high notes, but he did have tremendous power. Del Monaco power is very/very rare.
@@nthdegree1269 come on, he just didn't have the reliability and longevity on the high C, and maybe franco had a bit of an edge on the B in terms of ease and dynamics, but up to high Bb Del Monaco was a powerhouse that almost nobody ever matched.
@@魚-c3d Del Monaco had the most powerful mid tenor voice. Corelli had the most powerful high tenor range. Del Monaco also did not always have reliable high B, but his mid range was like a great bronze column. It is rare for a tenor to have such a good mid range.

"We are not like that. We have to work"
As if Corelli hadn't had to. He had to work extremely hard to achieve what he had.
just a joke
Yes extremely Hard but Nobody yould succeed until now.
Inigualable !!!

Stupendo Franco!!! UNICO

Learning how to use Corelli's ideas can sometimes work for all voices.
FABULOUS!!!! BRAVO!
Bellissimo tributo a Corelli! Complimenti per il video, bravo!
Grazie!!! 🙏🏻

Una joya de video.....!!!! Gracias...!!!!
excellent !!!!!
Unico,magnifico,eccellente e eccezionale.Molto grazie.
Grande!!!
I thought this was a very nice tribute to Franco and loved the music excerpts.👍
My pleasure 😁
Portento absoluto
He was not human. He was a God!
Yes indeed and nobody Else should try his calaf to copy, IT wouldnt work
I've read in one book that Corelli was 6'1 (186 cm).
And he used to be a swimmer in his youth.
Yes He won competitions in swimming too
Il Re ❤

Because the 1966 is faulty.
Cosa dire voce miracolosa e mai raggiunta !
L'unico......
5:13, if that's not a clear pulsation, I wonder what is.
becazala looks like zancanaro there :D
Omg is true 😆🤣
Only more handsome than Beczala.
Yes
Whats the name of the first piece??? Great video btw
Basilio Aguilar It’s Don Jose’s entrance music from Act II of Carmen (before “Enfin, c’est toi.”)
Thanks
Basilio Aguilar Carmen act II “Alto là! Chi va là? Prode d’alcala!”

Adam Unger he said that metaphorically
You would understand if you had heard him in person
Doveva fare un po di show
Sad that Beczala didn't learn anything from Corelli
No He didnt, nobody could

What?-Corelli singing what, is Beczala referring to?
Tu ca nun chiagne... A Neapolitan song
@@Luifernal6 Thanks. Didn't see any other reference to it, and was thinking aria. As you know there are many Corelli versions of it.

Is it true that Corelli was using his muscles from his back to gain some extra vocal power?
Actually don't know, but he may had some advantage on power and breath control because he was a swimmer!
It did gives a points to piotr, he is horrible. There is a top phrase of papino with his "passagio"?
Lui ha studiato e ricercato troppo. Aveva troppi pensieri!
Assolutamente non è mio gusto...
No for me no einther. Now He wants to sing calaf ist a bis challange too
