Just got one of these. Mechanically and electrically sound but tatty bodywork and interior. Cost me £1500. Bargain of the century. Picking it up tomorrow! Fast Ford's buying guide (pub. 2017) is worth its weight in gold.
I own the mk4.5 200ps titanium X sport. One hell of a car but is a 4 cylinder turbo engine so the one thing is lacks majorly is that amazing sound of the V6 the ST220 has.
Exhaust sound is a bit strange... Probably right end silencer is goign to die? Or sth? Yes, I know, this video is more than a year old ;) I own a 3.0 IMRC (custom made engine) and I still love this car.
Hey there! Entering possession of an ST220, luckily not as main car. What issues should I look into? Ie, what things simply go rot? I just noticed noise on left turns (assume the main ball-bearing)
Congratulations, hope you enjoy it like I do 🎉 Obviously dependant on it's km, just keep an eye out for the clutch and it's release bearing. Then look out for the cables connecting to the coil pack, because they run quite close to the engine and the heat makes them deteriorate
Roads Way South Thanks, I will check the state of the cables and replace beforehand - and google what the clutch bearing symptoms are ;-) Yes fun for sure :-)
Roads Way South Out of interest how many kms has your car done? Theres one online that I've found that's done 182000km. I don't know if it'll be a wise decision or not...
Mine has just over 130 000 km on the clock and I won't lie, I have experienced some problems here and there. I wouldn't say it's a bad buy, but it's really dependant on how the car was treated. Hope that helps 😓
One of the best sounding v6 ever
Very glad to hear that 😁👍
Roads Way South better than Nissan GTR
I found one of these cars for 5500€ and I'll probably buy it
Wow, that's really not bad. If your ever decide to go for it, do let me know haha!

i was thinking about trading my -00 accord for a 2003 mondeo st220 wagon, they seem so cool!
Omw, I didn't even know you get a wagon!! 😱 If you decide on getting it, PLEASE let me know how it feels haha
Mine is brilliant
It took me ages to get the right one but l would never sell mine no matter what.
I know what you mean. It's a special car and I know it'll be hard for me to sell the the car as well if I ever do
Is that a speaker in the engine bay ? :)
Hahahaha 😂 I know it looks like one, but I believe it's a sort of heat shield for the coil pack underneath
Ah ok ahaha. Thought it was one of them things that emit faxe intake / exhaust sounds. Also. Sounds -UH-mazing :)
Thanks you so much man!
Cape Town?
Roughly 45min out of Cape Town yes
