Sweet looking GMC Motorhome. This is my idea of what a motorhome should be. It's large enough for two adults to travel comfortably, and yet it's small enough that anyone with a standard driver's license could drive it.

it is neat to see one of these old baby's going down the road. they were way ahead of there time . Front wheel drive. I always thought it would be neat to own one. the floor was the great thing.

You forgot to make it lean down on the left. Prevents the dreaded gas burp......

No stats on the total fuel capacity or the cost to fill it? I think the "energy crisis" of the late 70's is what killed production of this unique and wonderful motorhome. Sales absolutely plummeted on all gas guzzling vehicles during the hysteria. We never did run out of oil and gas did we? Wanna talk about "climate change"?

Actually, I saw another video that stated GM needed the plant for trucks/SUVs (or something) - that's why they stopped production. Still beautiful and ahead of its time. Can you imagine if they put it back in production with today's technology?

@@TommyLive62 As a "body on frame" construction, I'm sure that much of the assembly of these vehicles was done with "human manual labor". During the Energy Crisis of the late 70's automobiles were being greatly downsized, smaller engines, front wheel drive and robotic manufacture was taking over for Uni-Body construction,

Is it hard to find parts?
What were the things that ended up having to fix?

interesting where is the gas tank located at and how many gallon cap>

The 2 tanks are located under the floor about 3 feet behind the driver/passenger seat. They hold about 25 gallons each. (first 3 feet is the area for the mufflers, then next 3 feet is the main tank, then the next 3 feet is the Aux tank. they are about 3 feet long, and 4 feet wide.) here is a photo of some being replaced. www.gmcmhphotos.com/photos/showfull.php?photo=45079

You have 2 gas tanks on the GMC Motorhome.. so you have to fill a little slow for the tanks to balance out... Burp in other words..
