Sinulog grand parade is making a comeback this year after a two year pause due to the COVID-19 pandemic. South road properties Cebu CIty is the new venue.

Amazing!!
You have better videos we could watch on TH-cam ( even short) than being there without seeing these performances.
We were there that day , 33 tourists from USA 🇺🇸, our own tour guide and bus but no way we were able to watch these kind of performances . It was a chaotic set up for us.
We attended the Mass though. We left after mass since we could not even see the performances from our paid seats location. Fortunately, a group performed at the hotel we stayed in. It was an awesome experience being there despite of heat and humidity that day.

Ang Sinulog festival ang isa sa biggest events in our country, but through the years parang hindi parin nabibigyan ng magandang venue ng local government ng Cebu ang mga street performers. Sana talaga dumating ang panahon na mabigyan ng isang maganda, malaki at organize na venue ang Sinulog, gaya ng Carnival in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.

I understand the sentiments of pinoys, particularly the Cebuanos, about 'the Sinulog'. But, every time I see scenes such as these, I can't shake off the thought of how sad it actually is that, after such a grandiose event, many if not most of the people involved in these grand spectacle will go home to their grimy, dirty homes and neighborhoods, sans the ability to push their 'community leaders' (read: local government officials!) to effect real, positive, observable progress in their localities. Heck, I went to Cebu in the summer of last year (2022) and the places featured here were full of dust, grime and an overall sense of disorder that, frankly, I couldn't figure out where 'Cebu pride' by Cebuanos would be springing from! :)

Very grand and pageantry but ati-atihan is the best cultural celebration of all sto. Niño feasts.

This is sinulog completely different to ati atihan for me their costumes some are scary,
Sinulog is devoted and dance to santo Nino celebrated to worship, praise and give gratitude to him.

Really? Just watched an Ati Atihan TH-cam vlog and was dissatisfied to say the least…what I saw was wannabes that just wanted to be part of the parade but can’t perform, the same to what I saw in my first Sinulog in 2019. But this Sinulog 2023 was the best I saw and I wasn’t even there watching live I can imagine how much dazzling in person! This is the Sinulog where I can say there is pageantry…from the costumes to the performers and their performances I can say it’s truly amazing and inspiring! I guess the 3-year hiatus must’ve helped in the preparations.
Hahaha I spoke too early, there are still some wannabes in the parade…I wonder why they are allowed to participate, does anyone know the reason?

for this modern era SRP is the perfect place. malaki, maluwag at breezy, ung mga toplok na mga opisyal na sablay sa final staging area next time umpisan nyo ng maaga para matapos at maayos ung pinaggagastusan ng mga taxpayers at d ung mga kontraktors ang kumita tapos lagi minamadali ang project walang QUALITY!
